Just curious as to what peoples thoughts are about what they would rather pay out of either:

UNLOCKED iPhone 4 16GB = £499

or

NETWORK LOCKED iPhone 4 16GB = £450

I personally am in two minds if this is the case (these prices). In years gone an unlocked iPhone has been very pricey and generally maintains its value really well - here we have it at a reasonable price but this has never been an option to buy direct from Apple before, so that needs to be considered.

Is a factory unlocked iPhone 4 worth paying £50 more (if again this is the case), than a locked PAYG iPhone 4?

I'm going for the 32GB, at £599.

For £559 I'd get one that's locked to O2, but any less diference than that (£40) I'd pay the extra for the fact that it's unlocked.

Worth it for the extra 50 GBP! Freedom in using any SIM when travelling abroad and definitely sell well when you upgrade for iPhone 5 or 6!

Could always settle for the 16GB

That's what I'm going to have to do :*( Or I could just convince 'er indoors that her 3G is fine and get myself an iPhone 4 32GB 😛

The only trouble with that plan is the scalpel I'm planning to use to cut my current SIM card to size with might end up being used on my gentleman's area while I'm sleeping!

Spoke to Orange and they cannot send out microsims as they don't have any phones and not doing any pre-ordering.

Quizzed the guy about from the 24th onwards and could I get a microsim then and he apologised and could not say one way or another.

Asked for my PAC code which will be sent out in 3 to 5 business days???

Really don't want to leave Orange but I will be forced to if I cannot use a microsim card!

Has anyone else had this issue and why so long to hand out a PAC code?

hmmm anyone else p*ssed off at how apple mess us about........all that hype..........I don't even feel like giving apple the satisfaction of taking my hard earned money

I could get £300ish for my white 3GS. But 'er indoors has already staked a claim to it. So I know what you mean. He old version 1 iPhone will be worth nowt.

Great, I'm getting a SIM free phone so I can use it anywhere in the world....

.... where they probably wont have PAYG Micro Sims!!

Seriously, I've got 5 months left on o2, I'm asking for a micro sim of my current contract, but come December I might switch to simplicity or give a look to anyone else offering visual voicemail

Very true! I've found instructions, but wouldn't mind buying a template to cut my sim card from.

Draw a 15x12mm rectangle using your favourite graphics software, print it out (make sure at 100%), stick it over your existing SIM with a dab of Pritt stick which you can wipe off later and there's your template! You'll need to snip a corner off, but Google should help you with this if you don't want to use trial and error.

There's a sort-of template here

Ordered 😀

16GB Black iPhone 4....my first ever iPhone as I am coming over from Android funnily enough.

Figured I didn't need the 32GB one as I can't justify spending £600 on a phone when I have an 80GB iPod. Plus the fact that I will fill a 16GB or the 32GB one from day one if I filled it with all my songs and pictures, I figured I was going to have to select what I want on there with whichever one I got....

The next week is going to go so slow!

So can somebody explain to me, i have reserved to collect from my local store, i am currently out of contract with O2 and was going to upgrade, will all of the relevant paperwork be done in-store with apple staff???
