The U.K. iPhone 4 Thread

has anyone managed to cancel a few items(bumpers x 2 at least) from their order and get the phone to be deliverd back on the 24th ?

Well obviously I can't do that now as until July 3rd I am still the 3rd Party User. What I want to know is , if I took my driving licence, a bill with my mums name on, a letter from my mum and explained my situation ( and even say they could ring orange as orange did say an orange store could ring..) do you think they would accept that?
My dreams have just been dashed lol

You'd be better of ringing the store, but even then I'm not sure anyone would be able to agree this in advance. Maybe ring Orange and see if they can do it earlier? Good luck though.
 
Anyone planning on going with 3 then?

I've just signed up for a 30day contract so if I don't like it then I'll probably go to Voda/T-Mobile. O2 and Orange are shocking for me.

Yes! i cancelled the dock i added the to two i have pre ordered! now it is down for delivery on the 24th :D plus i have spoke to them and they will refund the delivery on the dock once i receive it

No, i cancelled the bumper and i still have delivery date for June 28!!!! I called apple twice and they assured that it should be delivered on the 24th and that the system is busy thats why it didnt change on the order status website. I am also still waiting the new confirmation email regarding the cancellation and the new delivery dates. I am really dissapointed with this, i cancelled the bumper to get the phone as early as possible and now it still shows old delivery date!

nice one. I'm on the 30day rolling and I don't want to change. basically, I go abroad a fair bit and I use texts to keep in touch. on these new 'unlimited' tariffs, I have to pay for each text I send while abroad. :mad:

When did you cancel the dock?? And did it immediately update to delivery June 24???? Or did it take some time?? Also did they send you the canceling email and did it confirm the new delivery date for your iPhones???
Sorry for the amount of questions but just wondering why i didnt manage go get the delivery on the 24th updated!!

But you were guaranteed the unlimited data on your 30 day rolling contract as well. All you've done is lost the MMS from allowance.

I, too, have had this notification when I ordered my 16GB! I was disappointed at first and toyed with not proceeding with the order. However, it does give me the opportunity to see what the carrier's prices are come the 24th and, maybe cancel the order if need be!

Arg. Then I think it'll be a case of "if you honour my current discount, I'll stay - if not, I'm offski".

I would recommend T Mobile or Orange coz the signal will be excellent pretty much everywhere once they start sharing network masts..

I cancelled the dock off the original order about 2 hours ago and the order updated immediately to show the 24th! then re-ordered the dock and the delivery for that is the 2nd July!

The dock shows on the original order as cancelled by Apple!
 
Interesting... I tried to reserve one a little while ago at both the Regent Street and White City stores and both were out. Tried the Regent Street one again now and reserved a 16 gig.

Maybe somebody cancelled their reservation.
 
Been at work all day so only just able to get online. All Manchester stores are sold out. I want one on contract, will I be able to go to the store on launch day? Will they have some set aside for non reserves?

Definitely. I've been very pleased with three on my iPad, looking forward to similar on iP4
 
I'm at Glasto during the launch (won't be taking my current 3G as the battery only lasts until lunchtime). Thinking of getting the 4 but having read certain issues and dramas I'm going to take my chances with strolling into a shop on Monday 28th and see what the stock situation is like.

I picked up my 3G on its launch day as I couldn't bear missing out on it for a second. 18 months on with a battery that lasts 4 hours max and lines of dead pixels across the top of the screen I'm not busting my balls for another one - what will be will be.
