What time did you order? Mine still says delivers on 24th

I was one of the first to order the iphone. I ordered at 9:30 am but i had the black bumper with it which delayed the delivery date. I cancelled the bumper to have the delivery date change to 24 but it didnt. So i was just wondering if someone else has the same case as mine!

The price of PAYG on orange only being £20 less doesn't attract me to the network, the internet is also only 250mb which I can easily go over in a week sometimes. Still waiting for news from O2.

Can't see anything on Orange re early upgrade offers.

Better still, anything to buy me out of my o2 contract ;)

Yeh ok I get that...but is there a cap on uploading like there is on downloading?

Uploading is part of the general bandwidth limit. 750MB FUP is inclusive of uploads AND downloads, just like with an ISP.

It will be interesting to see if you will even be able to upload large video files over cellular network. You can't download large apps over cellular, perhaps something similar may be put in place to stop people dropping a **** ton of data each time they video something :p

Good to see Orange finally announced their pricing, just a shame O2 can't follow suit.

I've reserved a PayM 16GB through Apple which I'll pick up on the 24th, but it would be nice to know how much I'm going to have to pay!

It seems odd that O2 would release little snippets of information every day after launch and then suddenly stop. Hopefully we'll get their pricing later on today.

why is there such a difference on the £30 per month tariff between Orange and O2? With O2 you get double the minutes and unlimited text! Really want to go with Orange as a much better signal in some of the places I go often but not sure if it's worth it

Orange seem to count both Upload and Download against your data usage allowance, not so sure about the other networks. So Uploading a 100MB 720p HD video will count against your 750MB fair usage allowance.

o2 announced that upload doesn't count towards your allowance. I suspect that applies to orange too... but worth an ask on Twitter i guess?

Great cheers.

Also, all you people saying Orange give unlimited data for 12 months...thats WiFi...they can't charge you for WiFi anyway. The data is only 250Mb, which is lame!

LOL at £480 on PAYG. £499 factory unlocked from Apple is MUCH MUCH more appealing believe me. These will maintain their value much better than PAYG.

Unless other networks can go as low as £460 then I am going with Apple sim free.

I'd really like to see someone try that on O2 over their 3G network! (I'm sticking with O2, but seriously, I do not think I'd manage a 100MB upload without it dropping the connection. Assuming I can actually get a 3G signal).

O2 have no free internet for PAYG, you have to top up every month if you want that.

Great cheers.

I'd rather have FREE 250MB data than have to pay every month for 500MB from O2.

(On people buying 2 phones so they can profit on the 2nd)

Lol, that's just the way of the world...

This is a poor excuse. The "way of the world" is written by its participants - every individual who makes a conscious decision.

It winds me up in much the same way as people who say "oh I'll vote for {bad guy} because it's not like {good guy} will win, and one person isn't going to make a difference". Sure one person can't change the world (extremely rarely anyway) but the way of the world or the balance of power is the sum of individual decisions (or votes). The fewer people who have this "everyone else is doing {bad thing} so it's ok if I do it too" attitude, the less likely it is to be "the way" in the first place!

Of course, we're all greedy from time to time, it's only natural. But excuses like that are pretty transparent. If you want to be greedy, that is your freedom to do so, but don't pretend it's anything other than *your* choice to hoard items in limited supply and screw anyone else who wants a chance etc.

£490 (incl £10 top up) and a 250mb cap to be locked to Orange who are notoriously unfriendly when it comes to unlocking the iPhone as opposed to £499 for factory unlocked from Apple with a Simplicity tariff...hmmm. Also i have to sign my life away for 2 yrs to get unlimited texts?...yea...that'll happen

Over to you Voda/O2/Three/Tesco/T-Mob

Hmm fair enough. I was planning on going with something with more data anyway. Definitely need it.

Take it to PRSI ;)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Orange aren't offering any SIM only plans, are they?

Finally a carrier has released pricing! I've been tracking this thread for days now!

I'm new to the UK and will be getting my first iPhone. Not someone who needs to upgrade every time a new model comes out so thinking I'll get a 24 month plan as this fits in with how long I'll be in the UK.

Will probably get the £35 contract and pay £119 for the 16GB option. Total over 24 months is £959. If I bought the phone separately and paid £20 a month in credit, I'd be looking at £960. Not much difference really. Yes, I can't upgrade and I'd be tied to Orange/Vodafone/O2 or whoever I choose, but that's no major for me.

One question, I'm basically going to be in London, which carrier has the best 3G network covering London?

O2 have unlimited internet with simplicity tariffs which works out cheaper than Orange

What's wrong with making a profit? If you have something others want, and is in short demand in some places (e.g. an unlocked iPhone in America, or indeed an iPhone 4 anywhere at the moment), why not satisfy the market demand and make a little money?

It's those very same principles of supply and demand that every single business, including Apple, works under, after all.

just asked the vodafone dude on twitter (@VodafoneUK).. and he confirmed upload and download is counted towards allowance unless it's something they say is "free" or part of a pack such as MobileTV etc..
