Any idea on how it will work for people purchasing the sim free ones as I'll be wanting to put my contract t-mobile sim in there.

Will they give me a blank one for me to phone t-mob and transfer myself or will they do it for me?

See my post above but from what the Apple Store tell me all phones are the same but the treatment on the day is different. Whether Apple will honour T-Mobile contract prices (do they even have iPhone contracts?) I dunno. Sim-Free might be your best (and cheapest, long term) option.

Pretty much because the USA'ers have 50 different threads discussing each of the potential pitfalls/issues/orders/bumpers/sim cards/happyness and anger :D

and we havent managed to descended into anarchy by the 5th post either hahaa

We should all whoop and high five each other in typical British manner.

We are the number 1 replied thread

Congratulations everyone :D:D:D:D:cool:

Are we going to make it into a MacRumors news item? Surely we at least deserve a mention as a Page 2 news item. And people say we brits are reticent and reserved!

Now, what's the record for the most replied thread anywhere, not just MacRumors?

Have a little read again. Sim free is what I meant. T-mobile have issued nothing except registration form and from what I gather its going to be July. I've ordered a PAYG one but have a T-mobile contract sim. Will the apple store be able to transfer my sim onto a small sim or will they provide me with a small sim so I can ring t-mob?

I think it is safe to assume it will be £570 for PAYG 32GB iPhone 4 (same as Orange). I am also assuming that Tesco will increase the upfront cost by £20 as well

Yeah that was my thinking too, but it is o2 here! I hope they offer it at that price or there about. I'd probably get it from them instead of Apple as I can't get to the store yet

Yeah. Multiple threads. Those are great - so much opportunity for aggressive "this is posted in the wrong thread" replies.

Then again, this is a UK thread. Has anyone from the Channel Islands had the temerity to try and post something here? Come on, just try it ... let me at 'em.

I'm considering not even bothering upgrading this is taking too long and I do not have a lot of money to spare for this.

(well, I do but i can't be assed!) I wanted a 24month contract too.

T-Mobile will have to handle that. Your best bet is to cut the normal sim down imo. I'm sticking with O2 Simplicity and will do that at first anyway. I'm too impatient to wait :)

Hope that helps.

I'm already on Vodafone and was looking at the Quidco sim only deal. If I transfer via Quidco can I keep my number? Would I still need to get my PAC from Vodafone for when I order it through Quidco, even though I'm staying on the same network?

could you elaborate on this vodafone quidco deal please?

Im a little impatient so looks like i'll be chopping up. Personally I would switch to orange or O2 but I have 50% friends and family for life with t-mob. 600 mins unlimited txts and unlimited data (3gb fair use) for £15/month.

Theres no way im losing that

With 7 days to go I have started my preparations, My Screen Protectors have come, Practiced some Microsim cutting (Need more sims ) and again App Hunting already...

I wanted a 24 month contract too at first, but one of my colleagues had a good point in that I come to dubai quite often... and usually spend most, if not all of my summer here... so I'm gonna go for buying the sim-free handset and get some kind of sim only plan

Look out for an Apple-blue Kraftwerk Autobahn t-shirt. ;)

Probs with my iPad for entertainment in the couple of hours worth of queueing too.

I'll look out for you. Attire to be decided here, I'll possibly be bringing my MBP along for entertainment. However you'll not mistake my voice - somewhat deeper than the talky bits at the beginning of Barry White songs ;)

lol.. i've got 4 t-mobile sims coming, so i can practice cutting :) i don't have any spare sims lying around... hopefully the o2 micro sim i ordered on pre-registration turns up too before next thursday..

not going to bother with screen protectors... this phone is supposed to be sapphire crystal equivalent or something! :p

does anyone think that Apple stores e.g. UK flagship Regent Street will have white display units on launch day? have they in the past displayed items that are to be sold later?

Just had a chat with O2:

Welcome to O2 live chat. Someone will start chatting with you soon.

You're through to Robert.

Robert: Hi, this is Robert from O2 online chat. How can I help you today?

Me: hi robert

Me: i have a question about my contract - it ends on 7 July

Me: Hello

Me: i can upgrade any time

Me: however, i have a friends & family 30 percent discount on my tarif at the moment

Me: if i take out a new handset and tarif - will my discount be lost?

Robert: Ok

Me: i'm hoping to get iPhone 4
