Sold my 3GS on ebay(unlocked from O2 PAYG) for £450 last month - crazy price but I don't think a lot of people know you can buy a new payg handset from o2 and unlock it for £15 within a few days!! Unfortunately I have had to use my solo tmobile sim in an ancient nokia which is painful!!

I hope -
1) O2 sell payg Iphone 4G from day one, and
2) They keep the same unlock policy!

I use tmobile 30 day SIM due to coverage (600 mins, unlimited texts and internet and tethering for £20pcm) - will have to get scissors out first!

Selling an iPhone on ebay is like swimming with sharks - first buyer sent forged postal orders which were returned by bank - thankfully I had not sent the phone. Ebay did nothing about the buyer who is still registered, and he had the cheek to leave me negative feedback! Finally got it removed after a lot of discussion, but the whole thing has put me off ebay for good!

It's not 10% on the whole amount when the value is that hight. Check their pricing structure.

I don't really expect prices before the pre-order date - that seems a bit pointless, but I suppose they could be quicker.

Don't you think you should just get one from T-Mobile?

I have signed up for interest to Orange and will be keeping my fingers crossed they offer a reasonable pay as you go price for the 16gb'er

If not will see if I can move from my sim only iphone contract to a 18 month one and start paying extra per month.

I have done the same with Orange but looking at the 32GB model and i have to say that i am surprised that no prices have been released today as i would have thought the networks would be getting them out as fast as they can to get buyers attention on their deals.

Any ideas price wise currently on contract ? as i wouldn't really want to be paying more than what the 3GS 32GB was going for before the Iphone 4 was announced.

I have a white 16g 3G s. Do you think this would be worth more or less on eBay ?

Sorry I meant seen it was a white one. Are they're less about?

Also, what are the best guesses for an iphone 4 on pay as you go?
I would guess the same as they are now (£450 for 16GB) but it could be 10% more because of the exchange rate change since last year.

Doubt it makes much difference. In a poll on the new ones, it seems people like black to white 2:1.

If I was to get an 02 simplicity tariff would I have to sign up for the iphone version because I would assume that the PAYG models will come with 12 months free bolt on meaning that I wouldn't need the unlimited web and wi-fi that the iphone simplicity offers.

For anyone interested .. The contracts for iPhone 4 will be the same as they were for 3GS in terms of pricing so I would assume the pay as you go price will also be the same. Apple sales person told me that and when I called orange to get a PAC code and they asked why I want to get one .. I said I want to keep my number for whichever network I choose to get an iPhone 4 with and he told me it's more than likely that the tariffs will be exactly as they are right now so I'm 95% convinced now that the iPhone 4 tariffs will be the same as 3GS and the 3GS will become the same as 3G 8GB model. The keynote showed the phones sliding over with the same prices so basically 4 replacing 3GS and 3GS replacing 3G.

Anyone uses orange on their iPhone? I have it on an omnia and I find the 3G speed really slow so I think I might change my network

wow! thanks for news!!!!!!! :D

I'm in a similar boat sold my 3gs 16 gig this morning for £300. Now using nokia n73 but getting most of my 'i' fix from my iPad. I'm also a Tmobile uk customer and have been using my iPhones with them on the solo 30 plan £30 for 1400 mins unlimited texts and Internet.

Was well chuffed when I heard Tmobile would be selling the iPhone 4. Original plan was to buy payg model from 02 then unlock and chop down the Tmobile sim. Might just end up getting the iPhone 4 from Tmobile if they offer it on payg and ask if they can send me a micro sim solo 30 card. Time will tell.

Any which way I'm not signing up for any contracts. I personally feel it's better to buy the phone altright and be done with it instead of being tied into a 24 month contract.

correct - I got my first 3GS PAYG on launch day

Woo!

I'm right for once in my life.

Guys. I just dropped my 3GS in my garden. Small chip to the bottom left of the chrome bezel. White plastic has also come away leaving a small gap between the bezel and plastic.

I just have to have the iPhone4 now. I can't carry on like this.

Here's my situation:

Bought iPhone 3G on launch day on 18 month contract.

Bought 3gs payg and put my original iPhone 3G sim in it.

When original 3G contract ran out I changed over to iphone simplicity. Because I am on friends and family with o2 I get 600 minutes/ 1200 texts for £15 a month. Cracking deal.

I have just requested envelope from o2 recycle to sell them my current 3GS for £282 ( I think!) used more4u code.

I'm left with two options as I see it.

Upgrade, e.g, start a new full fat iPhone contract and buy like a new customer. This will drop price of handset but will mean i will get paying more than double my curent line rental. Second option is buy PAYG and cut my existing sim card to fit the microsim tray meaning i get to keep my cheap line rental but pay more for handset.

Can anyone do the maths? Lol

Legally, no. We can only import, at high price.

PAYG iPhones start from £449.
