O2 have been pathetic imho no payg and selling only to existing customers for a month!? They wanna go out of business?
Trust me...if i cant get a o2 payg sim up and running on my iphone on thursday ill be popping in to orange
ive been an o2 customer before they even were called o2 (one2one a think) and this is the way they treat us!?At first my order wouldn't complete as it was coming back as "Authorisation Failed"
Then i got a call from the RBS credit card fraud squad and they too were confirming the order was legit of which i confirmed quickly to get my pre-order in
They have told me they have put over 2000 other cards on hold due to cards being targeted so the iPhone 4 can be purchased illegally!
Same thing happened to me with an HSBC Mastercard. I knew there was plenty of credit on the card so called them straightaway. They said they don't know why it was declined as there was no problem on the HSBC side. So I tried again, and it failed again. Then I called Apple, thinking that maybe their system was so overloaded that the transactions were screwing up. I tried to order over the phone with the Apple guy but he couldn't even put one in my basket because his system was failing.
About an hour later I got a call from the HSBC fraud people. As soon as I told them that the attempted transaction(s) were legit and that it was myself that was using the card, the guy said 'ok, give it 2 minutes and try again, it will work'. I gave it 2 minutes, went back to the online store, and it worked.

O2 were BT Cellnet werent they? Mercury One2one became T-Mobile.
She said on the phone to me "I'll just put you on hold while I speak to a colleague". I guess their talk was some ingenious plan to keep customers with O2 when in actual fact it's made me decide to move away from them after 4 years of loyalty. I rang up again and spoke to someone who told me that I could request a PAC code and still upgrade if I wanted to next week.
I pre ordered on the Tuesday....Ive just checked my account again and its now showing the payments gone back to my debit card
I checked an hour after pre-ordering and the the £499 was showing as being debited from my account but now its been put back in again
Is this normal?....anyone the same?

For reasons I wont go into on here my credit rating has taken a bit of a hammering - however I've had the iphone for 18 months (full contract) and I'm hoping to upgrade in store - will I go through another credit check, this is for 02 btw. Thanks. (my bills etc have always been paid etc)

For some reason thought that was o2. This was late 90s im talking bout but still i have been with o2 for 5-6 years solid for sure

The check for fund availability first. This puts an authorisation on your account, this then disappears until they take payment when they ship as far as im aware.
i think each store is different depending where they're located. 8 or 9am id say

Dont worry! Just a preauthorization to make sure you have enough money. They'll do it again and Then will actually charge you atleast this is what they done with my ipad
no credit check, they'll just update the system for you to start another contract

O2, you have done yourselves well and truly proud. I can't get the iPhone until the weekend after launch as I am out of the country, and thought I would be done for until well into July...but you're reserving them for existing customers for a while. You have finally done something that I love you for.
Anyone know if existing customers can order by phone or do you have to venture outside and face the public? *shudders*

I sent off my iphone 3g 8gb to o2recycle last friday, recieved my cheque this morning. A week without my iphone has been awful, cant wait til Thursday.

I dont care if I go with Orange or O2. All stores are within 200 yeards of each other.
Which to put the money on.... I'm swaying towards Phones 4U because the manager was the most approachable. But, maybe the O2 customer thing may bump me up the queue?
Also, what time to get there?

- I have supposedly reserved one in a tiny Carphone Warehouse (no 5 on the list, no deposit left). Store opens at 8
- I have supposedly reserved one at Phones 4U (no deposit left). Store opens at I think 7.
- Orange store opens at 8 - no reservations made.
- O2 opens at 8:02 (yes 02) - no reservations made, but I am an O2 customer.

I'm going to do that too - would the cost of the iphone not appear on the new bill thus giving me some time to flog my other one? Also, will carphone warehouse etc give me a micro sim or should I try get one now?
You have to pay there and then for the handset, it doesnt get added to your phone bill.
Ive no idea if CPW will have a micro-sim, I imagine they would but o2 have said you can call into their stores and pick up a microsim if you have a contract with them
Fair enough, I've a carphone warehouse feet from my flat so I'll maybe phone them on Monday and see what the score is - and post my 3g off to the lovely mazuma.
