I'll probably in Manchester at 7AM in that case! May as well make a day of it seeing as I've not been into the city since Uni finished weeks ago :)

If they don't have any left when I get there I'ma cry!

So, will it be the main doors by Greggs that open dya reckon?

I think I may get there for about half six to scout the queues and then wander around before standing outside the doors at 7.
It could be those ones, but I have a feeling it may be the doors opposite the wheel, next to next.

giffgaff

I've reserved my iPhone at Meadowhall but have some questions about giffgaff.

My main question is to do with coverage. Using O2 signals am I right to say that if I get five bars of EDGE coverage with O2 it'll be the same with giffgaff and the same with 3G too?

I'm just cautious as while I know they are owned by O2 they are a company that next to nobody has ever heard of. Their offer is just too good...

I just know that for Call of Duty midnight opening (yes, I'm a total geek :p) it was the ones by Greggs, not the Next ones.

I've realised its easier to hit Piccadilly, earlier trains.

Man, I'm so excited!

At the gears of war midnight it was the doors on market street.

IN a number of other threads, people have mentioned being hit 'view all reservations' on a local Apple store page and seeing your iPhone reservation for Thurs. All of the people have been USA dwellers and I was wondering if this can be done on the UK store pages too? Any chance people could check for me?
Thanks in advance.

p.s: I'm under the impression that those 'check reservations' were purely for those appointment types below (which, by simply reserving an iPhone 4 we wouldn't have booked).

1. Cannot say
2. I would imagine the unlimited data would retain if it was just a straight normal-sim to micro-sim swap.
3. Yes, I would say that's very likely.

You may want to check out the Vodafone Sim Only £20 12 month deal - 600 minutes, unlimited texts, 1gb internet, and £100 cashback through quidco. Works out at under £12 per month.

Thanks ..... I think the Vodafone Sim only is looking the favourite now.
I just got off the phone to an O2 rep, who told me that if I took out a current sim-only contract (with unlimited data), when I came to swap it for a micro-sim, it would be considered an upgrade, and they would impose the new cap. Same goes if I went for a 30 day rolling contract, and then swapped to a 12 month .... again new cap imposed.

Thanks. Thought so, but so many people posted I thought I'd check. I've got the email so I'll ignore the rest of the posts from now on.

Anyone here picking up any of the bumpers?

Not until mid-July :) - why are they so damn expensive?

You'd think they'd have them at launch - they'd sell loads through impulse buys.

They're so expensive due to Apple tax methinks though.

You'll get the same on edge, 3g may or may not be similar, they're at different frequencies, and may not even be same mast doing it.

Phones4u are taking £5 deposits are they are guaranteeing the pre-orders for launch day. I've called around at least 7 stores locally and they are all saying the same thing.

I've checked over and over and over again and they are saying that an iPhone 4 will be guaranteed for launch day.

Also they are taking pre-orders for the 32GB but I they have all told me they are not taking pre-orders for the white iPhones!

SHIPPING. ie, EMEA

All our iPhone are ALREADY in the UK.

My iPad was EMEA shipping and shipped from WITHIN the UK. No tracking internationally, just from the TNT hub to my house.

If the iPhone 4 was coming from Shenzen it WOULD have shipped by now as it is Monday in China (give or take a few hours...).

These iPhones are already sitting in a lovely warehouse somewhere waiting for delivery.

The question is WILL we get them early?

I got my iPad a day early. US iPhone 4 delivery estimates says they will get their iPhone's on Wednesday and not Thursday.

So what will happen here?

I expect that by Monday night we will have shippment notices but the phones won't show up in Tracking before Tuesday night...

I just got back from Regents Street Apple store.

4000 people have a reserved iPhone 4

the guy wasnt quite sure how they will cope.

PS: I just bought a MacBook for the misses and never really used one before. I am a complete computer geek but MacOS is fantastic! No wonder people love Macs

Stop making the same post. Do you work for P4U by chance?

At the bottom of the printed receipt / documentation, they claim they will NOT reserve you one, and they will be sold on a 1st come 1st serve basis. This is the facts, they lie in their store all of the time, they're the most dodgy phone retailer on the UK market.

That said, they've promised the £5 is refundable, so I took a punt. I do not for 1 second believe them though, and I doubt anyone else does either.

Yeah I have, but on every page people keep asking where they can get one if they haven't preordered, so thought I'd post it for them :)

Also just wanted to see if anyone else has done this?

Makes perfect sense. Carphone warehouse are just the same. These 2 companies are very similar. I won't even go into the shop, i get a strangely bad feeling just looking in through the doors.

No I definitely don't work for them!! I just wanted to let people know. I know they are really dodgy but I had no choice because I was unable to pre-order from Apple. So I wanted to get people's views and let others know theres still hope to get one!
