i dunno if i can tho cos i've bought a new computer since and i dont have any of my old music on the new one.......dammit.

you should be able to plug in your iPod Touch and go to file then transfer purchases from Your iPod Touch Here.

dunno if i missunderstood this but is there a chance when you swap from normal sim too microsim via transfer wit o2, will it affect your data plan?

i'm with orange on a sim only deal......phoned them wednesday.....i had to go on the iphone tariff which was £5 more....but they sent me a microsim straight away and i got it yesterday......transferred my number over straight away and now i have it running in my old phone with adaptor ready for thursdays delivery!! orange were good to me :)

Glad they are being nice to some people. I'll call em' up tomorrow AM and I'm sure they'll fix it up. Heck if they don't I move from orange along with my 3 family accounts with them...they don't like it when you say bye-bye.

I have purchased SIM free from Apple Store. Will happily show them my invoice if they must

Hopefully this is something people already have experience with:

I'm with Orange and my contract expired about 2 years ago (mug aren't I!). They've offered me a new 24 month contract that is absolutely dirt cheap with a phone (not iPhone) and other things I can sell on ebay for >£250. This cheap deal is supposedly because of loyalty (been with them 10 yrs).

In the past they've never been able to offer loyalty deals on iphone tariffs.

My question is: If I buy an iPhone outright from Apple, will I be able to use it on a tariff that isn't an iPhone tariff? Has anyone done this in the past?

(I'm assuming of course that I'll be able to get a micro sim).

PS. Gutted I didn't manage to reserve a phone in time - I never found that page, just went straight to apple store. Thinking of queuing early and hoping I get one from the non-reserved stock.

I was advised by a team member from Orange Tom Alexanders office that I dont need to change over to an iphone tariff if i dont want to, just means i dont get certain benifits which are only available on an iphone tariff

If you're buying from the Apple Store, they will transfer you to a new micro-SIM and renew your contract in-store. That's what I was told when I rang them up.

Also, who's subscribing to MobileMe? Is it worth it?? I like the idea of being able to remote wipe your phone if it's lost/stolen. Is there a way to do this without paying for MobileMe?

MobileMe is fantastic...the most valuable thing for me is, that everything is synced...If I lose my iPhone, I don't lose my calendars, contacts, iDisk backups, photos etc...Find My iPhone works perfectly - it's saved my bacon before, thank goodness starbucks staff were honest enough to return it to me :)

+1 i love it!!!!!

also love the idea of locating/at least wiping my ipad or iphone.....

plus the calenders etc.....

a funny thing when im at home is, i get an email noise on the mac, then the iphone then the ipad, kind of like a ding-ding- ding :D

Only 4 more days :)

i wish that were the case. i waited for tariffs to come out and in the end got a little impatient and went ahead anyway and ordered from the apple store - missed the first shipment so mine wont be here until 5/6th July :(

guys - can i submit my PAC to a new network a few days after the line is connected?

im sure this has been answered before. but will the apple store have o2 microsims available for sim free iPhones?

Synchronised e-mail, calendars, contacts...MS Exchange has been doing that for years. Cloud-based storage of photos, documents etc. Countless services out there.

i hope to move from o2 to Vodafone
I wouldn't - there is a reason why they are luring people with more data - they have to because their 3G service is nowhere near as good as 3, O2, or Orange.

Some networks should allow you to request a PAC without actually leaving the network. I'm leaving my O2 Simplicity for iPhone tariff to go to Vodafone and I requested a PAC on Friday. When they gave it to me they basically said it would last for 30 days, and if they hadn't received a transfer request from another service provider after that time then nothing would change and I'd still be on the O2 tariff. Assuming your provider is on a similar system, it might be an idea to request your PAC ahead of time so you can transfer your number straight away.

think you were conned there as you dont have to go on an iphone tariff unless you are taking out a new iphone contract, upgrading TO iphone or just choose to!
