If a white phone is that important you could always wait till the fuss dies down. If it has been some sort of supply problem. Imagine the outcry if they stopped the whole launch just because they are short on white. And they have given details. It's not available for pre-order/reserve. But a limited number will be available at launch.

Maybe thats the release day for the handset then? Like I say I've seen this date floating around somewhere will try and find it.
Saturday release on the phone would make more sense for them as they can pick up all the people who didn't get there pre-order as they were working......

Thanks for the link. I'm not bothered about being one of the first to get an iPhone 4, I just want to find the best deal out there, hence why I wish Three would just release tariff/phone cost information so I can decide.
Best 3G coverage west and central London?
Am at end of o2 contract on a Blackberry which hasn't got 3G. Can't get EDGE here, mainly GPRS and call quality isn't brilliant.
I'm mainly in Kensington or Twickenham and have heard bad things about 3G coverage for these areas.
I've looked at the maps that show 3G coverage for the various networks but wondered if anyone here is in my neck of the woods and has consistently good coverage, if so please let me know which network you're on.

So...I just got off the phone with Apple - was checking my iPhone order status as my internet went down for a bit...apparently it will be today or tomorrow AM that our UK iPhone 4's are dispatched.

There Have Been Very Strong Hints And Direct Comments Not To Expect The White Iphone Just Yet. I Think This Is Apple's Way (The Best You're Going To Get With Apple's Secrecy Policy) Of Telling You Not To Hold Your Breath. I Heard They Are Having Manufacturing Issues (Ran Out Of White Paint? Lol)

Thanks. A few minor disappointments for the hacking/jailbreaking crowd but nothing surprising. I knew they'd turn off the permanent 2G/3G switch - but I've never dared use it in case they kicked me off the network anyway.
The biggest pain on Three is the content filter, but you can bypass it by using Opera for now. Or in the case of accessing image comedy site b3ta.com, use jelly.b3ta.com
yea i did mine with orange on saturday, took 2 hours.....now all i have to do is wait for thursday for it to turn up!
(Hopefully!!)I have just tried to order a micro-sim from Orange for my iPhone 3GS contract....Orange have apparently stopped giving out micro-sims to current iPhone users as they have had problems - they haven't worked out how to properly implement micro-sims for current iPhone accounts and have been having problems. Once again I was fobbed off and told to call back on 24th. The rep said that because our current iPhone contracts specify they don't support switching sim cards into other handsets (apart from handset given at purchase) this would effectively be Orange saying 'Yes, we now support sim swapping' & if they did decide to send out microsims to current iPhone users, it would be a gesture of goodwill.

Jeeze, well you thought it couldn't get anymore hilarious (my only reaction now) You inspired me, I persisted and called again. Orange iPhone team are now saying that in my iphone 4 box will be an adapter & micro-sim - I use the adapter to transfer my info from current sim to micro-sim provided. I then have to call up Orange were they will happily transfer my number over to this micro-sim.
I think I'll focus my energy on getting my iPhone then worry about opening up a 'carrier can of worms' on Thursday/Fri
i actually cant believe the bad luck you are having.....it's making me feel guilty that it was so easy for me to get one......i mean literally i just phoned up wednesday and asked for one.....they said ok cos they just had stock in......and i got it saturday......then i phoned back said can i transfer my number.....they said yea sure......2 hours later my microsim with adaptor is working in my old phone......i actually have no idea why i got so lucky and why it's been so hard for u......sorry mate

In all likelihood they'll have everything including microsims ready for new contracts (where all the major profit is), but upgraders and pay/go will be left in the cold carving up mini-SIMs for now. (Source: Logic. They seem to be struggling to get their heads round it all in time, and if I were a business I'd concentrate on organising the most profitable elements as a priority)

Ive been led to believe that if you have reserved the phone at Apple shop, there is a generic micro sim inside. And all you do is phone your network and use that number to transfer your number to it.

If you're planning on queuing at an Apple Store on Thursday for non-reserved stock, then based on my experience of 3G launch day, the store staff will politely refuse to tell you anything about stock level until it's your turn to be served.
So you can quite happily chat about anything with them, but if you ask something like "look, I only want a 32GB one, do you know if there are any left?" or "have you got enough phones for everyone in this queue" you won't get any answer, the only way to find out if you've wasted the last 2 hours is to wait till you're served.

Just got my new sim from the O2 shop have done the transfer off the number online just waiting till thursday for the phone plus my tickets have just arrived for Bon Jovi on Friday night Feels like xmas
