no microsim from o2 in the post today, going to go to an o2 store with my preorder email to get one..
Going to be doing the rounds today in my town, will be visting the Orange, Vodafone & Carphone Warehouse stores to see if they are taking pre-orders.
I have already spoken to Phones 4 U who are not selling their units on PAYG, just using them for contracts.
No point going to the O2 store as I am not an existsing O2 customer.
Been lurking a while but thought I'd register to post this - I went around all the phone shops in Manchester at the weekend. Carphone Warehouse told me that they're doing first come, first served, Vodafone took my name and number and told me that "someone will call [me] within 48 hours" to let me pre-order a phone, and when I went into the Orange store the guy took my name, number and which iPhone I'd want and said they'd hold one for me, and that I could come in at any time on Thursday and pick it up! Pretty pleased with that. Anyone else been told this at an Orange store?
Here's my predicament.
I've got one pre ordered for Cardiff. My brother wants me to get one for him (not preordered). Which queue should I joinn. The walk in queue and get his first. Or join the pre order queue and ask them for an extra one. Any suggestions?

Lol... imagine how epic the thread will be if (knock on wood... and I hate that saying... but I want to let you all know that I DON'T want this to happen) they don't arrive on the 24th... especially if there's no word from apple... haha, it'll at least double by the end of the day... all day there will be the odd posting of "haven't got mine yet" or "has anyone's arrived yet?" and then at 5 (or whenever the couriers stop delivering) there will be thousands of posts of ppl saying "WHY DON'T I HAVE MY iPHONE!!!"
Well logically best to join the normal queue and get one for your brother as your pre-ordered one is guaranteed and then ask for your pre-ordered one after, can't see why they won't give you it, if they don't worse case you have to queue up in the pre-ordered queue but at least you know you'll have one.
As if you did it the other way round then I don't think they would let you get another one as it would be unfair on the normal people queuing.
Other way round! Walk-in queue, then when you've got his say "I've also got a reserved one to pick up" and hopefully you won't have to queue again in the pre-order queue.
nope comes sim free from apple you will have to get your own 1. i do believe however that they will have them instore.

Hey, I'm in Dubai atm so I get the message about the store can only be accessed from the UK too... but I use a VPN with servers in the UK when I wanna see the store info (The only VPN's I've seen with servers in the UK have to be paid for... I'm sure a good google search will get some free ones though... I couldn't be bothered to keep looking, haha)
May aswell try and get one then, ive read some will only work with pay n go, so do you have to ask for one that will work with a contract???

I have a phone on pre-order from Apple Store, Regent street. It says you'll need a utility bill as one piece of ID. Now my name isn't on the bills yet. GF takes care of it.
Would any other ID be ok, d'you think?

Hmmm...both of my micro-sims are saying "Sorry, there's something wrong with the serial number you entered. Please re-enter your sim serial number.".

Are O2 giving out iPhone 4 micro-sims? I will be getting mine on PAYG would this be a problem to collect one today?
my o2 microsim is waiting at home. wife forgot to ask them for adapter but guessing it's in the envelope. will know at luch time i guess
fyi - i have a reservation at apple store but called local Stormfront store - they told me they haven't had word from head office re: ip4's...but for me it's irrelevant because they confirmed they won't be selling any unlocked ones - all contract.

It did that on me what i had done was entered to many number the last four which have letters in i think it was you do not need them Should then work mine did my number was moved over in 15 mins
