PAYG Sim swap time

Hiya, has anyone swapped their PAYG sim yet. I collected mine and my husband's micro sims from o2 in Barnstaple today and went through the sim swap online but they still haven't swapped over yet. Just wondering as everyone's seem to be going through really quickly.

Cheers

I love the cynicism here. O2 are ringing people. Check Jon Honeyball's Twitter. He's a pc pro writer, no reason to bs.

i know , i have been saying this since this morning..
i cant believe the mega jealous people without phone calls are trying to convince you all otherwise..

It seems to me that the only the contract are swapping quick. I swapped mine but my micro sim isnt working meaning that my normal sim still works, but it says up to 24 hours so I would wait. If it still doesn't work, go in store :)

Ah, cool, weird thing is, don't know if I have been foolish in doing so, but I put my micro sim in my phone and it was working but with a different number. Hope I haven't messed it up! A little worried at going back to the store as I seemed to know more about it all that the sales guys/girls! :)

I'm just being impatient! :)

Has anyone else had a call from someone claiming to be from o2 saying you can have a phone on the day? the guy on the line didn't sound right to me, he knew my name and phone number and asked my password... I asked if there was a number I could call back on and he said no! so I hung up. He said he was calling as I had registered interest, which I had. Have I just lost my chance to reserve one?

You probably just lost your chance to get scammed more like!

I just got a call from O2 saying because I was a brown customer, they're sending my iPhone 4 on Thursday via the sewer system. I've to sit on my toilet pan reading a book until 12midday and it'll make an appearance.

Please, stop with the fake "O2 are sending me an iPhone 4 on Thursday emails because I'm special" posts - we went through this earlier, and we're certainly not going to believe someone who has posted a grand total of two posts on the forum.

Sorry for not posting more than 2 posts, not been here long.

I did receive a call from someone claiming to be o2, and when I saw the comments about it being scam I was a bit concerned and called o2 customer services. They confirmed they had called me and an iPhone 4 will arrive on Thursday. Insurance is now £15 a month. Bit of a jump from £7.50.

 I’d rather take my chances!!!!

O2 customer services just confirmed they are phoning platinum customers to upgrade now and will get home delivery on 24th.

A friend of mine and the Pc Pro magazine guy have also confirmed this.

You will have received an email by now telling you you can do this if you are eligible.

They have no plans to do this for gold customers. :(

Pot of gold you are...

No wonder you're a 'gold' customer, with a 100% increase in the insurance, they see you as a pot of gold.

Gullible.

Got my zagg invisible shield for iPhone 4 today!

It appears they now have a European office so it only took 3 days for me to get it and now I'm all set to keep my new iPhone scratch proof!

You may be interested to know that the front area of iPhone 4 is the same as on the original iPhone! Same width across the screen. In fact I'm sure original iPhone screen protectors will fit the new iPhone 4 front screen, I still have a crystal power support protector on my iPhone original version (which I have kept for classic gadgetness) and may even put that on iPhone 4.

I called customer service and the lady confirmed that they are calling people that registered for the iPhone to make pre-orders. The calls started today and will continue.

Dude, Orange are offering micro sims for upgrades. I work for iPhone Tech Support (not the ones you speak to when you first phone) and we have a process that generates a micro sim to be sent to you.

Just ring them and you will get through to level 1 and just ask for a micro sim and if they don't have a clue then tell them to transfer you to level 2 and they should sort you out.

We had a email about it about a week ago.

Hugely appreciate you taking the time to help mate. Unfortunately Tech 2 iPhone Tech Support say they have been 'having problems' with micro-sims and have apparently put a hold on issuing any new ones until 24th June.

OH NO!!!!! I was told by the customer service advisor that because i wasn't starting a new insurance order that i would keep paying £6 a month as i was a bit worried i would have to pay £15 a month.

I never claimed and also paid £6 for my iPhone 3g too. Does this then mean when i phone up to tell them i now got my iPhone 4 from Apple and to transfer my insurance over they are now going to tell me the guy made a mistake and it will be £15!?

1 said it would be just a swap over, an other just said it should stay same price and one didnt know. :( Not happy if i have to pay more as £15 is a little steep

To the guys that have pre-ordered with Phones4u what's the general consensus?

Because I got the 'pre-registration' paper attached with my receipt for the sepoist, and on that it does say 'stock not guaranteed' but after phoning around a few stores they have said that this is for people who simply want to declare interest and not commit to actually getting the phone on the 24th.

I'm still not sure what to do, as I've managed to get a hold of a pre-order from Apple but don't fancy the que.

You reckon that Phones4U will actually be able to guarantee us one? Judging by CPW stock it seems so tight, my Phones4U have taken around 50 deposits and thats a tiny store!!

seriously, your not going to scratch it!!!

now he has a screen protector you're right :p

The 3G S was easily scratchable and older iterations much worse for me so for highest resale value I'll be using a front and rear protector!
