Mine says 'Pay Monthly and Business'. They specifically asked me if I was on a contract or PAYG. If you are on a contract they gave you the wrong one.
because they are too impatient to wait for 14th july and would rather spend £200-£300 more to save 2 weeks of their life....pretty pathetic to be honest.
Ok I have a payment question.
I pre-ordered from Apple on day 1- £499 came off my available bank balance straight away. Just checked now and Apple transaction still not on my actual statement. My bank (Barclays) has said that the payment hasn't been 'claimed' by Apple yet. Is this normal? Is anyone else in the same boat? My order status is still 'Not Yet Shipped' but doesn't say cancelled or anything like that. Do Apple wait until iPhone shipped before claiming payment?

Here is the pic, but as we discovered earlier, the iPhone 4 box has white sides and maybes a white back. I am calling fake on this but I can't see why someone would only send the picture to a friend and claim they are iPhone 4 boxes :S strange people
It's normal. Your available balance went down because a hold was placed on your account for £499, but that was basically just to check that you had the available funds and didn't take them out right away. Holds evaporate after a few days but that doesn't mean a cancellation. When your iPhone is shipped, you can be sure that the full amount will be taken out of your account!
Anyone else not upgrading to ios4? I'm gonna wait till my new phone comes then there will be even more new stuff to play with

I can't. Sold my 3G a week ago to afford the new one, but I don't think I would have updated either.
In a Right Quandary
I'm (obviously) trying to get the iPhone 4 on thursday and I've got a few options. Just don't know which one to put the money on.
Phones4U. Manager meant to be calling me Wednesday to confirm whether he can get 32GB (black). Not hoping on this one too much; they seem pretty clueless.
Carphone Warehouse (apparently number 5 on the unofficial reserve list). They have no idea on their stock - and it's a tiny store.
O2. Won't do any reservtion/ pre-order. I am a customer so maybe their queues will be shorter than say Orange. Opens at 8:02.
Orange. My preferred network but the 32GB is like £50 more. No pre-orders, no reservation but it opens nice and early at 7AM. The staff say (although I'm sure they don't know) that they're getting white/ black 16/32GB.
I think I will just turn up at 5 AM outside Orange, and hope I'm first in the queue. As soon as the staff arrive I'll see if they have 32GB in. If not jump to the O2 queue!

tried to get my sim swapped to a microsim today at my local O2 store, they where having none of it unless I had a confirmation email from Apple, I told them I was buying the phone from them on Thursday. I was then told they couldn't do it until Thursday!
You would think they would try to get it done as soon as possible so they are not wasting time on Thursday morning when the systems crash again! lol!

Phones4U seemed pretty clued up (apart from thinking they will get white iPhones) about their pre ordering because apparently it's official and head office are allocating stock depending on pre orders.
Three will be offering pre orders by the sounds of it, but will they have it for Thursday? That is the question
I've got a 32GB reserved for collection at the local Apple store, which I intend on collecting at some point on Thursday (I CBA queuing for hours!). I also 'registered interest' on the O2 website (and gave them my address) but no sign of a MicroSIM delivery today .
If I don't get one delivered tomorrow I'll go into the O2 shop at lunch and grab one..... hopefully by tomorrow lunchtime someone else will have been in and the O2 store will actually know what they're meant to be doing!

Don't get me started. I have never had the same answer from an Orange rep. I have been told to hang tight until 24-25 June, then call Orange for an update.
Me too, but if you look at the black ones on the very end then the box seems a little thicker. Maybes it is my eyesight
Also, Apple has a tendency to be as eco-friendly as possible with packaging. I bet you anything the iphone 4 boxes are smaller not just for eco reasons, but also to maximize how many iPhones 4 they can squeeze in a pallet.
It's actually diabolical how disorganised Orange are. They're not telling us anything... at least O2 are getting micro-SIMs out to people!
I've reserved a 16gb for the 24th and was told by the store that my contract can be renewed in store and they would give me a micro-sim... not 100% sure this is going to happen though!
Dude, Orange are offering micro sims for upgrades. I work for iPhone Tech Support (not the ones you speak to when you first phone) and we have a process that generates a micro sim to be sent to you.
Just ring them and you will get through to level 1 and just ask for a micro sim and if they don't have a clue then tell them to transfer you to level 2 and they should sort you out.
We had a email about it about a week ago.
no there is, i ordered a micro-sim from orange on wednesday and it got delivered yesturday and its active now, call 150 from your orange phone and select the Ipad options, i think its 3 and then 1 and just ask them to send you one. but make sure you say its for the iphone 4 and tell them that you want either a payg or pay monthly sim.

Just got the box of my black 3GS 32GB out, and it looks identical to the ones in your picture...
The four black ones on the LHS do indeed look wider, and they look identical to my black 3G 16GB box (which I've got here with me next to my 3GS box, and the 3G box is both wider and taller).
just for info, some orange shops wont stock any iphone4 on thursday. And most O2 will have 20-25. Been told in stores. CPW is even worse on stock. THough the record names and numbers of people interested and will call back when any available, which is... ehh better than nothing. the only guaranteed way to get one was to pre-order at the apple store
