I'm reading of people paying £15 a month??!!

We have our iPhones insured on our household insurance under a 'things we take out of the home' category along with laptops, iPads, cameras etc. As we have kids we also have accidental damage cover. In total, for up to £10, 000 coverage we pay about £40 extra per year on our policy! We have an excess of £150

Hope this helps someone as the insurance figures I'm seeing around the forums seem just horrible!!

Yeah thanks for this will concider this later in year when hopefully i get my own place but at moment living with my mum so need to sort insurance myself. If the phone was only £150, then no big deal but £599 becomes a real worry if it was to leave my possession, be a shame to have to keep leaving it at home on say nights out or certain events in case i lost it!? hmmm:cool:

I can't believe people paying £15 a month for phone insurance. That's £180 a year, more than my fiancée pays for moped insurance for the two of us!

If you have home contents insurance then check your policies because most will offer a fair amount of coverage on items you take out of the house. Failing that, have a look at your bank's Premier customer service, the one where you pay a monthly fee. For example, Barclays Premiere Life costs either £17.50 or £25 per month depending on your profile but with that you get mobile phone and gadget insurance (i.e. TomToms, iPads and iPods etc), family travel insurance, home boiler protection, extended warranties on purchases, roadside breakdown recovery etc.

I'd guess that 90% of people who take out the £15 a month phone insurance will already have their phones covered under home insurance or something like the premier banking thing I mentioned above.

I'm going to be careful what I say about the late Guru James and also Guru Sarah.

I got a right slapping from mods for using inappropriate language - I only said I thought Guru James had jumped off Foxconn's roof.
