That's pretty poor. You would have thought they could send her instructions on how to work her computer and access the public Orange web site before that. It's been posted for days now, maybe almost a week, even down to the special offer of topping up £50 to get an extra £10 off the handset price.

Update on Phones4u

After some further digging around, today was the last day for the minimum £5 deposit but they are taking names down for any excess stock they get in. One of the guys said that head office sent messages telling them the deposits will guarantee the stock.

Also they are getting their stock in tomorrow, so it'd be worth a call if you still need one.

Which btw is not working as itunes wont backup my ipod before it updates...

Carrying on my monthly O2 simplicity £20 no contract with unlimited data, unlimited texts and 600 minutes any network. Micro sim activated and ready for Thursday

ouch, I am going to L1 as well, but I can only get there as early as 7am... is that extremely late then? :confused:

Haha! Good point. I can't think of many things worse than being a nerd queuing outside an apple store all night when theres a bunch of drunk angry men knocking about. Still. Think I'm gonna stick it!

well i have cut up my tesco sim ready for thursday, i just used a micro sim i got from o2 as a template, took me 2 mins , now put it in the normal sim adapter and all working whoo, be carefull with the tesco chip its huge lol :)

That's pretty much what I was told today. You didn't pre order in Middlesbrough did you?

I'm friends with a few of the Security Guards in the Bentall Centre so will get the inside scoop from them about when they're actually going to open the doors to the Centre. Will let you guys know. Am getting there around 7:30 just incase.

PS... this install is taking AGES!!

do you reckon if i restore to the ios 4, will my backup with apps and saves still work? backed up with 3.1.2

Sounds like their stories are matching up, which is promising! Do you think they will actually allocate stock for us?

let's wait and see, I don't believe they know how many phones they're going to get yet - so how can they possibly guarentee anything :)

how bad would the queues be at o2 stores on thurs ? im going to get there for 7AM for 8 opening in my town but i dont know what to expect, im looking to upgrade so am a existing o2 customer, dont know what my chances are though as never got an apple product on release day before.
