DAMN!

Postman just been and no microSIM from O2. I deliberately didn't go to an O2 store yesterday as I was expecting to get one through the post, so hope they've still got some at my local store. Can't risk waiting to see if one comes through the post tomorrow, O2 said it should be today for those who registered an interest and ordered a microSIM.

Exactly the same here, didn't go hunting yesterday and registered interest really early. Really p'd off with O2

I've never owned an iPhone before and am, I hope, correcting that on 24th.

A quick question for people who have bought launch-day iPhones in the past. Do they tend to come out of the box with a pretty decent charge in the battery? Are we talking 100%, 50%, barely enough to activate it?

What did you do when you first opened your 3G/3GS? Did you put the phone straight on the charger for a while or did you play and play until you got the low battery warning or beyond?

Just got my microsim from o2 Wimbledon, the first person there.

Anyway my sim says 3FF1, but the leaflet inside talks about the new iPhone. So

I called Apple Customer Service yesterday, and they said the orders should update today and that nothing is wrong with it. So.... am hoping he's right or there will be lots of flaming

Just a quick heads-up, loads of EA games are 59p on the app store for the next 48 hours.

Might want to stock up for the iPhone 4. :D

My recommendation: Need For Speed : Shift.

No I don't work for EA, haven't started uni yet.....

Hi, Iphone 4 Order placed and confirmed with Apple UK for delivery on 24 June. Order placed at 0930 on 15 June. Transaction went through on credit card straight away. All good so far. Then today I notice that the transaction has disappeared from my credit card. The order (see below) is still in place.

Obviously a free phone would be great but life doesn't work like that! Anyone else had this?

Not yet shipped
Estimated Shipping: Delivers on June 24th
Product Qty. 1
IPHONE 4 BLACK 32GB-GBR

Without jumping down sbally's throat, can we add this to the list of topics that have been repeated far too many times!

Heck, I'm 19 and on my first Credit Card yet I know how pre-auth's work! And it's been in this thread eleventy billion times!

If you have a debit card, Apple request an authorisation code from your bank, your bank will then put aside the ammount the authorisation was for. This is moved out of your available balance, but is still in the account.

If the authorisation code is not used within 2-3 days, the funds are then released into your account.

Thats what's happened today. How the bank deals with the charge come dispatch if you no longer have that money is then up to the bank. Some banks will request a new authorisation code, others will let it through and just let it put you overdrawn, its down to the bank. But the practice of moving it out of your available balance and then returning it when its not used is standard.

@TheSpinDoctor Are you going micro sim hunting today? I haven't even got a local O2 store so will have to do some phoning around and am not relishing the thought of it!

I think if there was a problem, we'd know by now. I was woried Monday especially when all the sites were saying they've shipped, but was pointed to this forum.

They come with a pretty good charge, but you will need to hook the phone up to iTunes. Then after the setup, its all playtime.. get some apps.. I would suggest Evernote (it will be amazing for a newbie)

Have fun :)

I think somewhere they said first 50,000 only, but that's really quite a lot when you compare it to the number of iPhones sold globally. Like you, registered really early so can't believe I wasn't in that first 50,000. Would have been nice to tell people if they would be getting one or not!

Money debited from account?

Has anyone had the cash taken from their account for there iphone? Nothing has been taken from my account and the pre authorization has been removed :(

Just got my micro SIM from O2.

Was about to do the SIM swap thing, to transfer my 3GS contract over from my fat SIM to the new micro SIM, and now I'm wondering, can I do this if I don't have my old phone anymore?

I sold it last week, and only have the SIM now, and no phone to put it in (not even a spare kicking about). The simswap instructions talk about needing to send a code to the phone (via txt presumably).

Am I kinda stuck now?

Yeah. Apple are masters of marketing and PR. If there was some shipment issue that they knew was going to delay 24th deliveries then I think they would have tried to get the issue out there early to limit damage, even if only by leaking some rumours on the internet to let people down somewhat gently, rather than dropping the hammer on people tomorrow without warning and creating massive upset.

For those of you worrying, my iPad was in my hand before the money went from my account and my pre-auth dropped off too...
