They come with a pretty good charge, but you will need to hook the phone up to iTunes. Then after the setup, its all playtime.. get some apps.. I would suggest Evernote (it will be amazing for a newbie)

Have fun :)

Thanks Carnag3 & Ksolano for info re battery charge on delivery.

I got my first Apple device on UK iPad launch day (well, the day before) and I've been buying apps ever since. I've been a desktop Evernote user for a while and participate actively in their forums so that is already on my iPad, even the iOS 4 update that they released yesterday.

I've been going mad with these "get a £15 iTunes card for £10" offers that Argos and Tesco were running last week. I'd be curious if anyone can beat me on this because I bought 16 cards and now have just over £211 of credit on my iTunes account! I've already bought 90% of the apps I think I'll need so most of that credit is earmarked for books.

I will most definitely be having fun.

well have fun with all those apps. i bet they'll look awesome on the retina display. Cant wait til thursday :D

Just got my micro SIM from O2.

Was about to do the SIM swap thing, to transfer my 3GS contract over from my fat SIM to the new micro SIM, and now I'm wondering, can I do this if I don't have my old phone anymore?

I sold it last week, and only have the SIM now, and no phone to put it in (not even a spare kicking about). The simswap instructions talk about needing to send a code to the phone (via txt presumably).

Am I kinda stuck now?

You should be able to do it through customer services, if they direct you to the website, inform them the situation and don't take no for an answer! Good luck!

isn't the itunes sale only for music credit?
No, it's just store credit. I've successfully spend the credit against apps and ibooks already in the past week. In fact the one thing I personally haven't spent it on is music (I rip all my music from CDs and convert it myself).

EDIT: Don't know for sure but I suspect you should have said "wasn't", i.e. past tense, because these offers might be over. The rumour was that the Tesco one was a father's day thing.

EDIT2: OK, looks like Argos is still on offer.

Yeah, I did this too. I restrained myself and only bought 4 though. But still, that's effectively £20 free to spend on apps.

I spent about £25 last night downloading apps.

Does anyone have any recommendations of decent apps to download?

As I said earlier, many EA games are reduced to 59p for the next 48 hours from £1.79-£2.99

too bad I want the white, I hope they let me change my reservation if i line up in the reserved line and they have white on thursday :(

Got my Micro SIM from o2 store yesterday, in conversation asked how many have shown interest. The assistant pulled out an very unofficial looking list, about 20-30 pages long with about 20 names and numbers per page.

I asked how many phones they'd be getting.....79 (80 but 1 blagged for the manager methinks). The look on her face was priceless :D

Lots of unhappy people in that store on Thursday! So glad I'm reserved at the Apple store.
