Absolutely! I've read every single page and post of this thread and have been following it with (unhealthy) interest. I thought everyone was quite rude to that girl yesterday. As if it would be IMPOSSIBLE that O2 would call high value customers to offer them upgrades! They're openly reserving them specially for customers so why not? Think there was a little bit of iPhone envy going on yesterday and a few apologies wouldn't go amis.

Yep. I apologise unreservedly. Enjoy your new iPhone Oilillymad!

This is one for newbies..

1. Has anyone's order status changed? No
2. What proof do I need to get a microsim from an o2 store? Preorder or Reservation print out
3. Is the iPhone 4 on contract unlocked? Unconfirmed
4. Is the iPhone 4 on Pay and Go unlocked? No
5. When will I get my iPhone? When it is delivered so stop whining!
6. Can you get the iPhone in white on launch day? Highly unlikely

Simples!

3. Yes it is from Apple
4. Again yes from Apple.
Was covered about 100 pages back. Please check with Apple if unsure or non believer. :):)

if i turn up at an O2 shop in central london at 7.30, reckon i'll get lucky?

I think O2 have said that existing customers have priority, and those who have signed up this week are of a slightly lower priority.

Not sure how they will prioritise this in real life, but i would avoid the obvious locations if you don't want to make a night of it.

I am going by the footnote on my preorder which states pay and go is locked to orange or o2 depending on who you choose. :p
And for the contract ones though I do agree there should be no reason why these ain't unlocked.

Apologies as this has probably been answered before.

However I did not preorder an iPhone from apple as I was waiting on what the carriers (mainly o2) were going to announce. After all the hullabaloo i think i'll just buy a full price £599 32gb iPhone 4 direct from apple and turn my simplicity 1-month contract (£20) to a 12 month one (@£15) and put that in my new unlocked iPhone 4.

What is the likelihood that on Thursday i'll be able to pick up an iPhone 4 without a preorder? Am I more likely to get one on Friday when they have a pile of reserved stock that wasn't collected?

Hi, Iphone 4 Order placed and confirmed with Apple UK for delivery on 24 June. Order placed at 0930 on 15 June. Transaction went through on credit card straight away. All good so far. Then today I notice that the transaction has disappeared from my credit card. The order (see below) is still in place.

Obviously a free phone would be great but life doesn't work like that! Anyone else had this?

I think it really depends on which Apple store you go to and what time you turn up and you could try going both thursday and friday to try your luck and who knows maybe you will be walking out with an unlocked iphone on launch day.

Thats cool, direct from networks nobody knows. Apple however have stated that all handsets from their stores will remain unlocked regardless of network or sim inserted eg simplicity, payg, contract etc. Suppose we'll have to wait until Thursday to know for sure. :):)

Does anybody think o2 stores will know thier stock allocation tomorrow?

Might give my local store a ring tomorrow to see how much they have before I head down on the morning of 24th.

They take the money out to make sure you have funds to pay for it and then it goes back to your account.

By thursday or maybe tomorrow it would have left your account depending on what time it ships

You won't be getting a free phone!!

No one knows the answer to this question.
What may give you hope is te fact that I walked into a Apple shop a day after the 3G was released and walked out no problems.

Also, does anyone remember the stock tracker that Apple put on there website which drilled down which retail stores had which size instock? I hope they do that again to help people out.

I'll probably take a slow ride down to Lakeside apple store at midday and if they don't have any i'll ride across to bluewater. Hopefully one of those stores will have some as they are probably the biggest apple stores in the UK, am I right?

They don't take the money until it ships. The take and refund is just a pre-authorisation to make sure you have enough money in your account.

Time will tell and in 2 days this thread is going to go crazy! :D

If you plan to switch to the 12-month simplicity and keep any unlimited downloads you may be entitled to, you have until tomorrow to do that.

The only chance you have of getting an iPhone tomorrow is by getting in line VERY early. The lines will be long and first-come-first-served. If you get there by 4 am, you may stand a good or fair chance. If you get there by 9am, I really doubt they'd have stock left, considering how many people pre-ordered.

don't think the stores get the stock till the morning the shop opens! It happened last year with the 3GS , about 3 hours before the shop opened the stock arrived

Happy to pay for phone. Was concerned that the removal of the transaction would be followed by cancellation of order! Thanks for the response. Will go back to being relaxed and excited about Thursday now. Just the issue of a Vodafone micro sim to solve now

There is literally no chance that i'd queue in the early hours to get a phone. I like iPhones but i'm not that much of a fanboy
