Are Three still sitting on their arses? Or have they finally cobbled a contract up?

I've got a bet with a mate, his mate apparently pre-ordered one from Three last week, on a £40 per month contract with unlimited everything and a free handset.

No matter how much I told him this isn't possible he still believes him. I've told him to let his mate know something’s not right.

Yesterday I asked if he had any updates, he now has to go to the store at 3pm to pick up his free phone, the rest of the contract is already up and running.

Oh and its an iPhone 4GS also. Think he's going to be disappointed

I just got my reminder email too.....just about to pop into town to attempt to pick up a microsim from O2... Third time lucky, maybe? I wonder what excuse they will have today?

Separate queues is good news indeed - should probably be able to pick it up and be at work for 9! :D

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha **breath** ha ha ha ha ha

You have to remember that Apple are doing new contracts and contract upgrades in store this time around. I can't imagine that's going to be a quick process at the best of times but when you figure in the inevitable collapse of the various network's computer systems... it ain't going to be pretty IMHO!

That sounds really dodgy as 3 have not confirmed anything about pricing hope your friend has not been scammed.

I'm friends with a few of the Security Guards in the Bentall Centre so will get the inside scoop from them about when they're actually going to open the doors to the Centre. Will let you guys know. Am getting there around 7:30 just incase.

PS... this install is taking AGES!!

Silly question but the Bentall Centre store is my local one too and I can;t find an answer online.

Is it possible to buy/reserve an iPhone for in-store collection? If so, how and where?

No need to panic; your reservation will be held until the end of the day. So it's more than okay to go after work.

I'm glad I'm getting mine delivered at work! :D

Was tempted to Pre-Order mine and have it delivered at work, but when I pre-ordered my iPhone 3G, it was not delivered until 8.30pm! Good job that was to my home address as being stuck at work until then would not be fun!

Roll on thursday now!!

Hi, I've got a few questions if someone could help me. I'm aware some of them may have already been answered but this thread is 400 pages long and I have to be quick at work!

I reserved a 32GB iphone for collection on Thursday and chose the option of a pay monthly, but I'm not an O2 customer yet. I saw that O2 are only currently offering iphones for their existing customers, but is that only in their own stores? Will I be able to sort out a new O2 contract at the apple store, or will I have to just cancel my reservation and wait for O2 to offer the phone to new customers.

Yeah, the number of alarm bells.... staggering. FREE iPhone 4, UNLIMITED calls, texts and data only £40 per month on a network that haven't announced ANYTHING.

Don't think he's been scammed, just very mis-informed. I've gave up trying to help him out

Um, oooook

I don't remember reserving an iPhone at Apple Store, Glasgow, yet I too have the email from Apple. Oh well if anyone wants a pre-reserved 16Gb Black iphone 4 let me know. Mine is on the way from Apple for 24th delivery

I would love your reservation. I am going to be in the Q early as i wasnt able to reserve last week

Unlimited *
* Subject to fair usage policy that couldn't be much more limited

One day that sort of misleading advertising from the mobile networks and ISPs will be banned, we can but hope.

3 will probably be the nearest we get, but I guess they're waiting for T-Mobile to show their hand. Which is silly really as it's the same company.

I received my Micro Sim this morning in the post from o2. I registered my interest on their website on the first day. I have gone through the online process to swap sims. Just waiting for the transfer to complete. Says it can take 24 hours. Will be glad to get it done before thursday (fingers crossed) - i imagine o2's system will most definately crash early doors.

I am putting my new Micro Sim (not broken out of Frame) into my LG cheap phone (as i recycled my 3GS). Hope this works ok.

I recieved an adapter (black frame) with my letter. This will be helpful if i dont want to take my iphone 4 on holiday or on a night out etc.

Switch your phone off and back on, should force the swap through.

I called Apple store Glasgow yesterday and the woman told me that there would be one line - general sale and pre orders combined??

Now im confused. Anybody know how they did it for previous Launches at Apple Store Glasgow

Just tried ringing o2 and pretending I had a missed call from that priority number... No joy!! I just got if they tried calling you, you will get a call back.

Daaamn!

any of you guys queue up for the 3GS launch?

if i turn up at an O2 shop in central london at 7.30, reckon i'll get lucky?

cant be bothered to queue from midnight or anything.
I queued for 3GS in Tottenham Hale retail park, maybe 20 or so - the problems then, for me at any rate, were more to do with O2 servers going down.

If you are an existing customer should be ok (but get the simswap sorted before you get to a store). I imagine central London stores will have more stock but longer queues. From my unlocking business days with the first gen iPhone Edmonton store in north London proved to be a good source of supplies - relatively large store in a relatively poor area. Good luck.

There was on launch day. I think the link might have been taken down now but, even if it still exists and someone re-posts it then you have absolutely no chance at all of getting a reservation now to collect on Thursday. You're only chance is to queue on the day or even try to get there early on the Friday when they will be offloading any units that people reserved but didn't puck up on 24th.

I realise that you didn't necessarily say you wanted to collect on 24th so if you are happy to wait and just don't like waiting in for couriers (I don't) then I'd suggest that you let the 24th madness die down and then call a few days later and ask them if it's possible. You're looking at July delivery now though if you go direct to Apple. Your other option is to try the various networks, CPW, Phones 4 U etc to see how their stock is looking.

I have a reservation at the bullring for a black 16GB if anyone wants it :)

Drop me a PM as I might not spot it on the thread..

All previous launches I have attended at Apple Glasgow did not have the option of pre-ordering so everyone in the queue were in the exact same situation.

i know we will get the iPhones on the 24th but the ''Not Yet Shipped'' is frustrating me. i cant wait for it to change! esp that the people with reservations got a reminder and we the pre order people have nothing yet!!! anyway lets hope something changes soon!

Contract upgrades & new contracts were handled by a different team, I literally just need to get straight to a checkout. You don't actually think the people on the checkout are going to be doing the contracts do you? What about people who are in the store just to buy non-iPhone products... you honestly think they'll happily wait for contacts to be sorted?

Nope. Sim-free for me, collect, pay, out.

You should be able to do it through customer services, if they direct you to the website, inform them the situation and don't take no for an answer! Good luck!

Spoke to O2 CS, and told them that I had no access to a mobile, and they said that there is no other way to transfer my contract over, other than follow the instructions on the simswap site.

I asked them what could I do, and they just said I would have to borrow a phone from someone to get the txt.

Very helpful...Not !

Just got my micro SIM from O2.

Was about to do the SIM swap thing, to transfer my 3GS contract over from my fat SIM to the new micro SIM, and now I'm wondering, can I do this if I don't have my old phone anymore?

I sold it last week, and only have the SIM now, and no phone to put it in (not even a spare kicking about). The simswap instructions talk about needing to send a code to the phone (via txt presumably).

Am I kinda stuck now?

The send the txt to the phone number you enter, rather to the sim...Surely you have a friend/neighbour with a phone you can borrow?!

As far as im aware, its always been one queue, but I dont think people reserved the iPad before. They just got them delivered.

When I saw that guy from Edinburgh above offering a reservation, I immediately thought of you and tried to find you on here, but thankfully you found his post instead! :)

Ill be heading in at 11am. Ive got a reservation and Im under the impression, I should just be able to walk in and get it. The e-mail said so :)

When I was also in the store on Sunday handing over my macbook to get fixed, I did ask, and the guy said there would be 2 queues, so obviously just mis-communication going on. But since this email has now been sent today, it supersedes what you were told yesterday :)
