Because, as can be seen in this thread, he's giving actual students a bad name. His location implies quite clearly that he goes to Oxford University. Nobody calls any of the schools, sixth forms or colleges (as in 16 - 18 year old colleges) "Oxford University", and nobody calls Brookes "Oxford University" either.
Sorry if it seems like I'm pursuing this unnecessarily, it just annoys me when people feel the need to fake things about their lives like this.
Take it to PM then. I don't care what crap he may or may not spread. This thread is already too long and moving too quickly without flaming posts adding to it!
I'd recommend you park in the Buchanan Galleries multi-storey carpark or alternatively the carpark here which isn't very expensive

Can we stop with the Oxford University rubbish? It's not as if this thread isn't long enough in itself just on its subject matter alone.
All of the pre-orders are sold out for all Apple Stores on launch day, I'm afraid. The only way you will be able to get one is queueing up early and getting some of the unallocated stock they're (probably) going to get in.
EDIT: Have you tried phoning the Bentall Centre Store to see if they know how many additional phones they're getting?
I also got my email reminder. I hope (and my entirely unprovable theory is) that the email is being sent out as the iPhones are now in an Apple Warehouse in the country and stock have been actually allocated to your reservation now.

yes i got it to. did you log in to myo2 before requesting your sim transfer? i logged in and did it again and it was fine
Buchanan Galleries car park is a rip off. Try the Concert Square car park beside it, its a cheaper council run one.
Thanks. No, didn't login so maybe that was it. Just tried it via swapmysim.o2.co.uk though and that seems to have worked in so far as I got a confirmation text saying it would be done in 24hrs.
In fact I just reset my phone to try forcing it and it's still searching for a network after 2 or 3 minutes, so maybe it's worked already... time to try the new SIM!
Nothing fraudulent about it - a couple of times I've tried transferring SIMs and I always get one of these emails within a couple of minutes of trying. Just wasn't sure why though, but the login thing makes sense.
i thought so too, but it's legit. it's because you need to login to myO2 before you request a sim transfer.

I was thinking the o2 shop in Sachiehall street or the CPW in Buchanan Gallaries. I live in Edinburgh but work in Glasgow and the earliest train will only get me there for 6.40-6.50 or so

Oxford Colleges ARE the university and they're all pretty much as 'infamous' as each other as part of the grander Oxford University.
He doesn't go to Oxford, in any way, shape or form.
Think this has been mentioned before but if you're using swapmysim.o2.co.uk to transfer to an O2 microSIM, rather than wait 'up to 24 hours' for your number to be transferred, turning your phone off and back on again once you've received the confirmation text of your request seems to force it. Mines just been completed about 5 minutes after I submitted my request.
