So Looks Like We're Gonna Have To Wait Till Next Tuesday...

It's only been 2 days and we're up to 42 pages. This will overtake the iPad thread by the weekend at this rate.
Now be honest is this new iPhone that much of an upgrade. I know I will buy it on the day of release but my contract has ended so it's a lot easier for me than some here.
Does anyone still use their iPads by the way.?

sorry if this has been asked before but i'm planning to visit the UK later this month or next month...any idea if i can get iPhone officially unlocked over there? if yes then where?

Deborah L: Don't forget to pre order yours!

Meh...

Ill probably wander in and get one, i don't think my local apple store will sell out.

Do they sell iPhones (no contract) in O2, Vodafone, Tesco, Orange, Carphone Warehouse, Phones 4 U and if they do, are they unlocked to work on any carrier?

Also, do all these carriers sell microSIMs?

Ahh the iPad, i remember when that.

Apple won't tell you any more than we already know from the website and keynote. PAYG was available at launch for the 3GS so probably will be the same this time.

I think its now safe to assume that PAYG will be available at launch

So my early upgrade offer from O2 is £220. Then the £100 (or there about's for the handset) so that's £320.

I'm considering PAYGO more and more now.

PAYGO is wonderfull, but the internet is very expensive over 3G/EDGE/and other crap.

Just got off the phone from O2. Apparently, they haven't even announced iPhone 4 yet!

They say that it'll be "announced on June 24" and will be available "later this year".

Gotta love call centres...

Why would i waste my time making that up, try for yourself!

I just chatted on the apple online chat and they couldn't tell me anything about the phone and just told me that I would find out everything including prices via e-mail.

I already have a 3GS on contract which expires June 21st 2010. I can upgrade 3 months early because I am on Gold Priority with O2.

So I could just take my SIM out, either get a micro or cut mine down and then I am good to go!

The overall cost for me to upgrade is probably £330 ish inc. Handset but for a extra £100 I am basically buying a upgrade to iPhone5. I'm looking longterm.

still no one have any idea if o2 will offer pre orders and how that works for standard upgrades ? Apple set that date but is that not just for there PAYG Online phones ? as they dont sell contract models.

I asked O2 and they said that they weren't offering preorders, only the Apple Store did that, and that it's a first come first serve in there stores - although it was through email, to a centre seemingly outside of the UK, so I could have been misunderstood...

Also, with this update I'd like to see the UK Apple Online Store offering the same buying services as in the US - as in everything can be done from the website!

No it's not. On my iPhone 2G I pay £15 / month* for unlimited texts and unlimited internet from O2. Even better, it all goes into call credits, so every month the amount of call credit I have goes up by £15. By now I have about £90 on my balance. I'm hoping I can use that towards iPhone 4, but that might be wishful thinking.

* Actually they have an £10/month offer for unlimited texts and internet now, but I haven't changed over yet.
