No.

Which 02 store was that? As i asked for one yesterday and the lady didn't have a clue what i was on about.

Same here -just made my 3rd visit to the store since Saturday, the O2 guy was insisting that O2 "aren't doing Pay & Go iPhone 4's for a couple of months, they have only sent us microsim packs for contract customers". After I admittedly got a little bit rattled by his stupidity/lack of knowledge, he called another store, went back to their stockroom and -lo and behold- had a "Pay & Go replacement micro sim" pack for me

O2 are the worst-organized bunch of idiots I have ever known -I know there are people out there who have had good experiences with them, and I'm happy for you. But i've been a victim of their total incompetence on several occasions.

I'm finding the whole microsim thing to be a bit of a pain. I'm currently in a contract with orange and because it's a normal contract instead of an iphone contract, they won't give me a microsim. I've been to vodafone/three/tmobile to try and get my hands on a microsim (so that i can use it as a template and cut my own) but they don't have any. I've ordered the cutmysim tool but that isn't shipped until the end of june. I can see whats going to happen...my iphone will arrive on Thursday and i'll have no sim to use in it.

just got my micro sim from an o2 store, came with a little adapter (not in the envelope, they gave me it separately) so snapped it out of the holder and put it in the adaptor, just waiting for the sim swap to happen. did it via the online form :)

Have you tried switching off and back on (with the old SIM in)?

They said to ring back tomorrow to double check.

Off I go to O2 at lunch then for a MicroSIM..... "All gone. We'll be getting some more in on Thursday".

Sorry if i am being a bit thick. o2 sent me a micro sim pack, also swapped over etc . I am still under 3gs contract and was intending to buy Iphone 4 Sim free PAYG. will the o2 micro sim work? how can there be a PAYG or Contract Micro Sim?

I live in Middleton St George and near Morton Park there is a really small Carphone Warehouse which is stocking the iPhone 4 on release day and no one at all will be queuing there. Just incase anyone lives near there and wants an iPhone on the day of launch.

Jameson Street, Kingston Upon Hull. Didn't ask, just got it. Wasn't expecting it really because all the posts i've read no one was getting them in store or via mail. They just said "you'll need this if you want to put the micro sim in another phone"... i knew this, ofc, but just said "oh ok, great. thanks."

edit: i assume you're talking about the micro adapter. my micro sim is for pay monthly.

Of course, now you've said that, people will be queueing there.... :p

I guessed you were from Fife with the name Raith. Concert Square car park is the one beside Buchanan Bus Station. I think its open 24hrs.

my phone is being delivered to work (same as last time), have to make sure no one at reception 'loses' it this time, most hilarious.

Apple will surely swallow a lot of the increase, if not all of it (at least on the products already being sold at an exorbitant premium, which is most of them).

The psychological difference between £499 and £510 for a good can be vast.

just got called by o2 for iphone release purchase. i told them i was thinking of vodaphone because of their free data aboad and they said they will call me in 1 hour if i want to think about it.

they will sned me the phone for thursday if i want it.... im stuck cos i was leaning towards the vodaphone plan but im lazy and i dont have to do anything to get a new phone. im confused now.

oh for me its all about the roaming data because it always makes by bill huge as i go abroad for work regularly.

Just wandered into my local o2 store... told them I had a reservation for the Apple Store on Thursday, and asked for a micro sim.

Went through the procedure at http://swapmysim.o2.co.uk/

The website told me that it would (could) take up to 24 hours.

I literally waited 30 seconds then put my new sim in my temporary phone. (I've left the micro sim in the normal sized sim shaped thing).... and it's instantly working.

Nice job o2!!!

There are two different micro sim packs (from O2) for switching from an older sim. Supposedly they are not cross-compatible, so a Pay & Go sim must upgrade to a Pay & Go micro sim, similarly for contract sims.
As for the actual phone itself, if you buy a sim-free handset from Apple then you can use any sim you like ;)
