Cobblers. You think there's a little bloke who magically detects your viewing of the US site and puts a stamp on it, then removes it again as soon as you flick back to the UK site? It's little more than a regional difference in webpage content.

Its because there is no "prepared for shipping" stage on the uk store, it goes from not not shipped to shipped. The US site has that extra in between stage.

It's actually because for some reason the UK Store doesn't show "preparing for shipment", it just greys out the "cancel order" button. The system is still saying the same thing (in a box etc), it's just that the two sites are representing it differently.

Thought I'd post an update.

My order status on the UK site still says "Not Yet Shipped" however, the cancel order button has gone. When clicked, it says its been prepared for shipment.

Checked the USA site and it states my phone is "Prepared for Shipment"

PLEASE COME TOMORROW!

OH NO!!! I think i've been lost in the system!! I'm going to try once more. I must actually be mad/desperate. I can't believe i've just hung up after an hour on hold.

Thanks for letting me know.

Aww man that's awful. I felt sure you'd be there first. No questions about the text code or anything. Really simple process. I was in the last 2 months of my existing contract so no problem.

Try again!

Exactly same on my end mate. Fingers crossed for a delivery tomorrow.

Does anyone know whether we can actually cut the standard SIM to use in iPhone 4 as micro-sim? Cos I will go travelling soon, got the oversea Standard SIM card, rang the oversea network provider they dont have a clue what is micro-sim

Apparently I just gave it a go to ask an Apple expert on Apple chat, she said the chip inside the phone 4 is actually different so it will not work? Please correct me if I(or she) is wrong.

Dont worry about it, the only difference between the sims is the amount of plastic! Watch this video to see how easy it is. I cut my tmobile & giffgaff sim down tonite and they work fine

Thanks to simon69c for recommending giffgaff to me. I received my sim within a couple of days and have now activated it. (& thanked simon69c as the referer). I have also cut the sim down by using the O2 microsim card as a template as seen in the video above.

For anybody buying a simfree iPhone I really recommend you consider giffgaff. They are now the only network offering unlimited data, from £10 a month.

The PAYG rates are brilliant too compared to the other networks

giffgaff runs on the O2 network, so if O2 coverage is good for you give them a try (and stick it to O2, who I am myself leaving in disgust)

If you do get a giffgaff sim, please use ayzee as your referral code, thanks :)

I have pre ordered a new iPhone 4 from the apple store but I am currently a o2 contract holder with a iPhone 3GS. I qualify for the early upgrade offer and start a new contract thing with u2, I am just wondering will u be able to do the early upgrades in the apple store or do I have to risk it in u2 if non available buy the aim free and flog the 3GS on eBay etc!! Help thanks

I am hoping to do the Early Upgrade in the Apple Store as it states on o2's website that you can do early upgrades at the CPW, Best Buy, Phones 4U and Apple Stores.. Best to maybe phone your local Apple Store and confirm with them though

Ouch! O2's a bit pricy isn't it! I always see people giving T-Mobile stick for their prices but if that list is right then they would be "Better" then the big 3.

Is it right that GG are stopping free internet in the next few months?

Thanks mate! I'm hoping it will get less busy as it gets later (i can hope).

Hope you enjoy your phone!

Only if you go over your inclusives. They give away anytime minutes so easily on contracts that most people will likely never pay for any phone calls other than 0845 and other premium charge numbers.

Are they allowing this for new customers also?

I don't think they are, I initially contacted the main CS line and was told that I couldn't place an order until Thursday at the earliest. I then phoned again selected upgrade, ignored the 'there's no news for iPhone 4 check the web' message and finally got through. I am eligible for an Orange upgrade, think that was crucial.

Really?

I just got this off the website:

Free Mobile Internet:
You lucky giffgaff pioneers can even enjoy free UK mobile Internet up to the end of June 2010. After that date, mobile Internet will be charged at 50p a day (if you use less than 2.5MB/day you'll pay less than 50p and if you go over 30MB you'll be charged extra at 20p/MB).

It's not clear to me if the goody bags are part of this or what?

Is it right that GG are stopping free internet in the next few months?

Nope, commonly misunderstood though. Basically as a promotion they had free Internet for everyone who just topped up the minimal amount, without going for the text/call/data bundles. This stops at the end of the month, but you still get unlimited data from £10/m if you get a goodybag bundle.

Yes, that free internet offer has confused quite a few that have visited the giffgaff site.

Just think of it as free internet until the end of June for PAYG customers. But those who buy the monthly goodybag bundles get unlimited data anyway.

Not sure if this has been posted, but;

Rang three shop (Exeter) regarding micro sims and they seemed to think that you need to buy a new contract to get a micro sim as there is no way to update a current contract as it doesn't work like that.

Today went into a three shop (Bristol) and was told the complete opposite and you can get a replacement micro sim no trouble, which co-incides with threes blog.

Should be sorted for thursday now.
