If the iPhone is delivered today, and I'm out, will UPS automatically re-deliver tomorrow...?

Reason: I assumed that it would be delivered on the 24th and got it to be sent to my home. (There's a Tube strike tomorrow).

I'm not sure. I do know that TNT will not automatically redeliver Apple packages the next day without contacting the although they'll automatically redeliver all other packages. Apparently they're under strict instructions not to automatically redeliver Apple packages. UPS may be the same so if you've missed a delivery I'd advise you call UPS up straight away to arrange redelivery (or see if you can pick it up from their depot).

I have just received a call from CPW and they have upgraded me with o2 and having a 16GB iPhone4 delivered to me tomorrow. I was a bit skeptical so I rang the number on their website and they confirmed it for me. Happy days.

However, those Tesco tariffs look good!

Ooh there's hope yet. I'm still waiting on my call. Did they say anything about stock levels? They've been calling people since yesterday morning, I'm surprised they haven't sold out already - especially 32GB ones.

That 12 month Tesco deal looks very good...

250 minutes and 1GB data

£669 total cost for 32GB phone - thats only £70 more than the cost of the phone from Apple...

If you subtract the £599 phone cost, it works out at only £5.83 a month for the service.

Also works out £110 cheaper than buying the phone from apple and getting the 02 £15 simplicity contract (with 50 less minuted but double the data)

Very tempting - sim free plus GiffGaff costs £50 more but gives you unlimited data though...

Bit worried now, seeing as some are getting theirs today, the only person at home today is my brother in law who likes to have his music up loud so probably wouldn't hear the door going if it came today!

Ok thanks for looking, any pics of your slick new toy?

im trying to find my mums camera but shes at work and i have no idea where she keeps it, if i cant find it i will take pictures infront on the mirror or something using the iphone camera lol. also does anybody no what else can fit into the sim ejection hole, because ive sold my 3gs so i aint got a sim ejection tool and cant find any paper clips so i cant put my orange micro sim in lol

Tracking number confusion

I don't get it, my delivery is via TNT. On the TNT website it says enter your 8 digit tracking number.

On my Apple Order Status is has a tracking number thats 9 digits long and a customer reference number that is 10 digits long.

I've tried chopping off digits at the beginning and end of each with no luck.

Will do. Now I have a third reason for disliking having to work today.

  • The weather
  • The football
  • The iPhone4

..Tesco have released their prices:

The 12 month contract looks tempting.

I'm going down the sim-free 32GB route coupled with the iPhone Simplicity 20 30 day rolling contact, giving a price over 12 months of £839.

By comparison the £35 and £45 tesco deals are a lot better. In fact they are very good indeed! For example if I deduct the cost that I will be paying for the iPhone, from the annual cost of the £45 per month contract (12 x 45 + 99 - 599 = 40) the cost of unlimited calls, unlimited texts, and 'unlimited' internet is just £40 per annum or just £3.33 per month! That is stunning value for money!

However I want the ability to use foreign sim cards abroad and the freedom to switch carriers here in the U.K. Or do I????

EDIT: Scrub that! Just noticed that the £99 iPhone is on a 24 month contract so a recalculation is necessary.:eek:

***OKAY*** Now I am confused

Just phoned UPS uk and they have no record of the ups tracking number or any details about it.....

They said that if I was you I would contact Apple.......now how did they know that my tracking number was associated with them............

Does anyone know if Tesco will be selling it at midnight tonight?

And do we know anything about Vodafone for tomorrow other than the pricing? Is it going to be existing customers only like O2 do you think... I'm tempted to change over to Vodafone because of the data and its slightly cheaper however for convenience (and it's more likely I'll get one with O2) I might just stick with O2...

I am sure there is nothing to worry about and your phone will be here either today or tomorrow.

Think you may have missed the bit where it says the £45 a month contract is for 24 months not 12.

Apologies if someone has already mentioned this but:
To those of you that have received your iPhone and are still online, can you confirm that the phone remains unlocked even after activation so that we can put the unlocked issue well and truly to bed.

I got a 'Revised Delivery Date' email yesterday saying "Your delivery address is in an area where our carrier transit times are slightly longer. We expect to deliver your Order after the 24th June."

This is despite the fact that I live in a busy town between both Manchester and Birmingham that every single courier is able to offer a next day (even before 9:30) delivery service to. I can even arrange now for UPS to deliver something to me from London tomorrow, so how Apple's transit times are slightly longer (even though they never have been in the past), I just don't know.

Anyway, should the fact that my order status says this give me some hope that I might still get my phone tomorrow despite what Apple have told me?

Hi mr, well i have a delivery date of the 28th June, despatched today. Ah well, its out of my hands.

I will have a walk past the Apple store this evening and see what like with the queue.

Im really not sure what to do. Called the store again and they said they definately have walk in stock avaliable but couldnt say how limited it was. I dont want to get in line wait all night and then have no Iphone. Any way to find out how big the line is? the guys on the apple phones said they could not see from where they were.

Cheers

I got my call at 10am off a foreign lady and she was offering an o2 upgrade and not a new connection (I thought about going with Voda, but decided against it).CPW upgrades have also confirmed a next day delivery with DHL when I called back.

02086175910 was the number that called me for the upgrade. Try it and see??

Also, my cousin who also bought his iPhone 3G from CPW was told that he couldn't upgrade now but he can register for the next delivery. The only difference was that he spent £35 a month and I spent £45.

I can't see how the issue is in any way out of bed? They're SIM-free -- there's nothing for them to be locked to!
