Who wants to be my HERO! ?

Hi

I appreciate this is an enormous longshot but, I got my wife to give me the go ahead to get a new iPhone on condition that I sell enough stuff on ebay to pay for it.

I have sold an old iSight camera,a Newton, my old Airport Extreme, my old Airport Express, the iBook my mum used to use, the Powerbook my brother used to use (these where on loan from me and they both have upgraded, I didn't sell my mums computer for an iPhone) :)

I have managed to raise the funds... but... I haven't reserved a phone anywhere and I have to fly out of London on a long trip on Saturday. I was hoping that someone who has reserved an iPhone at the Regent Street store, but doesn't want or need it anymore, could give me their reservation somehow?

I figure there has to be some people who got one online, but reserved one in store too just incase and so don't need the instore pick up once their online iPhone arrives,,, or someone is feeling extremely giving ? :)

I am after a sim-free 32gig model, don't care about colour as if any of us have a choice on day one :) Could someone please help me out ?

Many thanks

my tracker is up on UPS; says Billing Information Received, Shipped/Billed on 23/06/10.

still think it will be tomorrow now :(

i just called UPS; not because I'm impatient(!) but because the address on the package needs a little clarification thanks to Apple's egregiously out-of-date address database.

Anyway, he said that while it's now coming up as Billing Information Received, they don't have the package yet, so I have to call back once it's Out For Delivery so they can ping the driver about the address.

I'm not sure whether that's worth anything though. I have a feeling something weird is happening with UPS's systems considering there have been reports of deliveries today even though the tracking number is non-functional.

Is everyone thinking what I am thinking about all of us who are going with o2, Voda and Orange for 18 and 24 month contracts that T Mobile, 3 and Tesco will offer really good deals like the reported 3 deal which hasn't been confirmed or denied.

Could this be a price we pay for adopting on launch day? If it is, do you care?

P.s. I hope everyone gets their iPhones soon!!

Interesting lunch break....

Had a call from 020 8617 5910

It sounded like it was about my "internet sevice providings" though was actually the carphone whore house

Had a load of waffle about me expressing my interest on the website and I was lucky as a valued customer to get an iPhone 4... Awesome... I thought

Although on the website I specifically chose a Vodafone tariff I was told the offers only on O2... he asked why I didnt want an O2 one so I explained about the data and he said well we only have 60,000 handsets and 55,000 are going straight to O2 upgrades leaving only 5,000 in store for everyone else.

I politely told him that it looks like I will be getting one from somewhere else then and he said ok bye...

How true I dont know but he did say if I upgraded I could have one in my hands tomorrow

Hi all

I reserved an iPhone 4 to pick up tomorrow at the Apple Store in the Regent Street. I ordered the iPhone 32GB SIM-Free (no contract or anything else) for 599 GBP.

Now I have a few questions:

- does anyone know if I get a boxed and sealed iPhone or does Apple insist to activate the phone in-store, even when I buy it SIM-Free?
- can I pay cash or do they need an UK debit/credit card?
- what else except the printout of the reservation and the money do I need to get my SIM-Free iPhone?

I didn't find these informations on macrumors or anywhere else. I'm sorry if I overlook it.

Thanks for your help and good luck tomorrow! :D

Apple online order says it's been shipped today. Just spoken to ups and they've said they have not picked it up from apple yet:confused:

Sure, PM me.

Where did the tesco prices come from as i can't find them anywhere on their website ?

guaranteed. we've only had a handful of people claim to have had theirs delivered today, and only 1 has posted pics. if there was widespread delivery today half the people in the uk would have had them by now, especially those having them delivered to work addresses in major cities. its happening tomorrow, the day we initially expected it to be delivered. no need to be sad, its the day we have always been told to expect it.

I'm pretty much hellbent on getting an O2 contract, because the O2 Academy presales and priority access queues will be really useful for me. Otherwise I would probably wait and get the cheapest option available.

Just had a phone call from Carphonewarehouse saying

" Due to CPWH getting little supplies, none of the stores will be stocking it tmrw on launch day. Sorry for any inconvience caused."

Looks like im going elsewhere!

I had that call as well and I upgraded with o2 and they also guaranteed for a delivery tomorrow. I then rang the upgrades number on the CPW site and I spoke to an English lady and she confirmed my upgrade has been processed and it is on DHL next day delivery.

I fancied Voda for the data limit but I use more than 3000 texts a month and I know o2 don't charge me for usign a lot of texts so better the devil you know.

Currently using a package called TrackMyShipments+....may as well use the 3g for tracking its replacement.....

The phone call was legit. After I got a call from that number and had placed an upgrade order I called CPW upgrades and they confirmed that a CPW upgrade had just gone through. I'd be surprised if CPW had 60,000 handsets.

Impressive if you use that much data. I thought I was a heavy user and I've only used 300MB/month on average.

Sorry if this has been asked...

Can someone please explain to me.....

The o2 website says:

“Purchase your new iPhone 4 from O2 (on sale from 24 June). When you get your new iPhone 4 you'll receive a new micro sim with it.

Your new micro sim won't be active yet. Ensure that the latest version of iTunes is installed on your PC or Mac. You can then connect your new iPhone 4 to iTunes and activate. Once your iPhone 4 has been activated by iTunes, request to swap from your old sim to your new micro sim.”

My problem is this though, I’m getting it from the Apple shop. I’m transferring my existing contract over to my new sim and selling my 3G S. Even though it’s sim free with they still provide me with an o2 microsim to do the above?

This is all very confusing.
