And people living in Shropshire for some reason best known to Apple

I hear ya! Normally UPS are not too bad. Their tracking system is lousy and their drivers still don't use SAT NAV. Plus, last year... get this.. my iphone was left in a shed outside - along with some other stuff. All got pinched! How I know this, was that I tracked my order and Apple said it was delivered, so did UPS. Eventually, I found out that the guy, had simply stuffed it in the shed, that's viewable from a public walk, we live on a private road, quiet no one around. The shed door isn't lockable and swings open when so much as a badger farts near it... resulting in pinched iphone...

Here's the clincher... I claimed through UPS. They then got heavy. Said the guy would lose his job. The delivery guy came around and showed me where he left them, stated that he was going to lose his job. Then, the managers turned up next day, because they didn't believe me. More pressure, more if this continues we're going to have to take the driver to court etc. etc. Eventually, and this is the charitable side of me here... I withdrew my claim, even though, I had no iphone. Guy kept his job, treats me like an arse and ups think I made it up. Even though it's his fault and he signed the delivery as me!!!

Funny thing is, that the driver turned up with something else a few weeks later and cockily said 'You found your iphone then!'... to which I replied 'No actually... I withdrew my claim, so someone would still have a job... then!' ... he didn't know what to say.

No moral to the story, apart from my own insurance paid up and UPS DO get heavy when they've screwed up and don't believe that you've not got something, they failed to follow protocol with delivery..

Let's hope that this doesn't happen this year.... oh there is a moral... buy locks for your sheds so drivers can't leave stuff in them. Mind you, that's not stopped him before either.. as he's left stuff at my back door before now. Oh god, why did I withdraw that claim. He's probably selling my iPhone now on eBay... let me go check... ah!

TNT just passed me on the way to my work which is where my iPhone is being delivered. I got all excited. Hope it's my iPhone!!

Got my proper tracking number for UPS now. Funds are still in my bank account at the moment though, so looks like it will be tomorrow.

What's the latest on reservations being honoured for the whole day then? I rang up the Bullring store yesterday and was told it'd definitely be held until the end of the day... I'm still worried for some reason though.

The phone call was legit. After I got a call from that number and had placed an upgrade order I called CPW upgrades and they confirmed that a CPW upgrade had just gone through. I'd be surprised if CPW had 60,000 handsets.

Impressive if you use that much data. I thought I was a heavy user and I've only used 300MB/month on average.

Yeah I'm sure it was legit but just made me chuckle.

I checked myo2 and there was only one month this year where I was under 500MB... im generally 600-700MB this year though did hit 800+ the one month.

Not sure how much data I used in 09 but I'd guess similar amounts.

I'd say I was a heavy user but nothing excessive.... mostly falls within Orange and Voda give you and well with in the fair use of what O2 did have.

Ye, whats up with that!? I can understand the highlands of scotland taking longer but im less than an hour and a halfs drive away from nuneaton where the iphones are apparently at (Shrewsbury here).

*update* my estimated delivery date has changed to the 24th on apples site now

I can't activate my micro-sim as I don't currently have an O2 phone I can use to get the code. I don't mind getting it activated tomorrow, but was just wondering. If my sim's not activated can I still sync the phone and everything, just not use internet/texts/calls? Or can I not do anything with the phone until it's activated? I don't mind having to wait a while for activation but I'd like to sync my phone & get it up & running!

They've been saying this since the start.

Had a kinda similar incident with those f**wits at UPS earlier this month.
I was expecting software from Adobe... and after about a month, I rang them up to enquire as to the status... whereby I was informed it was sent out early May. After a half hour on the phone, Adobe gave me the tracking number, and told me it showed as delivered. (but I hadn't received anything... not even a card).
Upon ringing up UPS with the tracking number, telling them I was the recipient, and had not received it, and the signature / name showing as the signee wasn't anyone I knew, and that I lived alone, they mentioned that they left it with another flat in the building... and that I should knock on doors to find out who it was left with.
I live in London... it's densely populated, and some people aren't so honest. I lucked it that it was neighbour a few doors over, but UPS seems to have a very laisez-fair attitude to delivery. F***wits!

damn just got an o2 micro sim from an o2 store, activated it online and my iphone is saying 'different sim detected, connect to itunes'....

I was on o2 to start with so it shouldnt have done this! im without a phone till i get home from work then! (dosent seem like long but if feels like it!)
