I some how think the 500mb capping is qoing to be problem with O2 until they update their network of course!

O2 have repeatedly said that its not a cap, but a fair use policy. When you pass 500MB, you dont suddenly lose all connectivity, it supposedly just slows down until you roll into your next billing month. From a tech point of view though, I really can't see that happening.

Ive got one from an o2 store today. Bring confirmation that you have bought a phone and DONT say you have pre-registered for one or they wont give you 'another' one.

Guy before me didn't have his confirmation email with him and was sent away. I showed mine from my iphone and they gave me a new microSim. Store was in the City.

Hmmm... not sure that would work. I think I'll just assume it's not coming today. Even if it does, then a redelivery for tomorrow will be slightly disappointing, but not a disaster. I mean, tomorrow is the date it's _meant_ to arrive, anyway.

Leave a note anyway. They might not be meant to do that but delivery drivers do seem to make up their own rules anyway.

Yeah? Good news hopefully for the Apple Stores! My best bet is that they will have them in stock, just not as many as thought. Apple haven't said no white iPhones, just no pre-orders (unless I've missed something!)

But anyways, my heart was set on white, now I'm OK with black.

I;m still not sure which colour to get, but I have 1 night to decide what colour. Its a tough decision, i have to have that colour for the the next two years.

Hi all

I reserved an iPhone 4 to pick up tomorrow at the Apple Store in the Regent Street. I ordered the iPhone 32GB SIM-Free (no contract or anything else) for 599 GBP.

Now I have a few questions:

- does anyone know if I get a boxed and sealed iPhone or does Apple insist to activate the phone in-store, even when I buy it SIM-Free?
- can I pay cash or do they need an UK debit/credit card?
- what else except the printout of the reservation and the money do I need to get my SIM-Free iPhone?

I didn't find these informations on macrumors or anywhere else. I'm sorry if I overlook it.

Thanks for your help and good luck tomorrow! :D

If you're buying SIM free hopefully they'll just let you walk out with it, since they will be having enough trouble activating contract phones etc.

I think you can pay cash, but I would try ringing the Apple Store to check.

You should bring some form of acceptable ID in addition to the email print out - driver's license, etc. In fact, you probably don't need the email, just the ID.

I phoned Tesco Mobile about 10 minutes ago, they told me it would be on sale from 9am tomorrow on the Tesco Mobile site (i assume she meant for pay-as-you-go as the 3GS never sold on contract through the website) and the Tesco Mobile telesales. She also said that Tesco stores with Phone Shops within them (usually Tesco Extra stores) would have limited stock which they would begin selling from 9am.

(Though Tesco stores are often open 24hrs you can't buy it from midnight, have to wait until 9am, i did ask)

Also, this thread on another website has a pretty genuine looking screenshot of the tariffs here which confirm the details that were released earlier to some websites.

So if iPhone's are available from tesco tomorrow can I sign a tesco contract in an apple store tomorrow? The guy at the apple store when I asked yesterday said all networks would be available, but obviously tmobile and 3 probs wont b? :S

apple will ask you if you want them to activate it for you so it's an option
if you're buying the iphone on PAYG or SIM-FREE then it doesn't require a debit card. cash is accepted. just bring your money. i don't think you need to bring a printout of your reservation. it says on the email that apple sent to you when you reserved your phone

Anyway, enough horror stories! I've now got a dilemma: my repaired MacBook Pro is at the local Apple store waiting to be picked up. They're not doing Genius Bar tomorrow or Friday for obvious reasons, but will let me pick it up. So, do I risk missing an incredibly unlikely UPS delivery today; wait for UPS tomorrow and then go pick up the MBP once the shiny new toy arrives; or leave it until Friday!

go now, it's not coming today. so far we only have 1 proven (not that i dont believe the couple of people in this thread that say they have theirs) delivery. and if the others are true thats still only a handful of people. more people would have them by now if we were likely to get them today.

The Tesco deals

Tesco runs on O2's network. I'm sticking with O2 as the path of least resistance. Tesco's USP is the shorter 12-month contract, other than that not a lot in it, although data is better then O2 at 1GB. Don't know where the link is on their site but these are the images from the email message my colleague at work got this morning.

BTW - O2 store at Tottenham Hale retail park is opening from 6am until midnight and they claim to have 'lots of stock'.

I can confirm what Mikey203 says, except the assumption about PAYG is likely wrong. Our local Tesco stores (I called two of them) join the other operators in launch day contract-only.

Guys can someone please help me!

I have a non-iphone contract with orange and i need a microsim for that contract so i can use it on my iphone 4. I've got data and stuff incl.
I have contacted orange many times and they just don't have any idea.
Do you need a micro-sim to activate the phone?
Will O2 give me a pay as you go micro-sim if i go to them today/tomorrow?
Even though i'm a new customer? (which i would just use until orange gets their **** together)
Thanks

Does anyone know if any of the networks or shops, will be selling unlocked iPhone 4's apart from Apple?

I know O2 at least used to sell unlocked phones (don't know if they still do), and maybe now that their iPhone exclusivity has ended they'll come unlocked?

They seemed to know what a Micro-SIM was (unlike what everyone here was finding in their stores on Monday!) but had run out :(.

orange won't let you transfer a non iphone contract to a micro sim though, you'll have to change contracts

the £45 a month contract though is ridiculously good, £99 for 32gb and unlimited calls and texts?

compare that to orange/vodaphone/o2, 1200 mins unlimited texts and 139/129/129 for the phone.....

tooo bad apple probably wont be selling tesco contracts tomorrow or I would go for them

Does anyone know if you can use O2 sims in tesco mobiles? If not, can you get O2 to unlock the iPhone for you?

Ordered my phone at 11am on 15 June 2010. I just spoke to UPS and they said that Apple have printed my address label but they still haven't given UPS the item!? What is that all about? I was hoping Cardiff were going to receive them today. Have people really received their phones already?
