my order is for the 2nd,

can i got the apple store tomorow or friday or the weekend and get one? would they accept my pre order confirmation or do i just buy it and then cancel the pre order?

Definitely? Silly as it may sound, that's enough to put me off.

Yeah, me too... :D

As much as I hate their speed and coverage (they don't even cover my house), I think I might be staying with O2. None of the other networks do visual voicemail, Three have rubbish customer service, T-mobile compresses all imagery over 3G, Orange don't cover my area, and Vodafone don't either. Not much choice! :(

I am sooo tempted to switch to tesco. Their contracts are infinitely superior to all the other networks.

12 months, more minutes, higher web limit

Quoted for truth! Does anyone know what operator name shows up on the iPhone if you're on Tesco mobile? Is it O2's, or theirs?

Ruddy typical......

Popped into my local O2 shop on Monday to see if I could get a microsim. They didn't have any in stock yet, but yes they would give me one if I came back in before Thursday. If I could show them proof of my order with Apple, not a problem.

Goes back to the shop today at 16:10. Shutters down, shop closed. Big sign on door "Closed early due to iPhone 4 launch tomorrow"

You couldn't make it up..............

I know there is only a slim chance that my phone will arrive tomorrow, but even if it does, I still can't use it!

I feel for you here.. I went to get mine today and turned up about 3:55pm, I had no idea they were closing at 4pm and just as I got in the shop, they closed the doors! I would have been extremely mad if I had turned up even a minute later. Sorry you didn't manage to get hold of yours, you could always go and get it tomorrow though?

The Asda and Tesco SIMs I tried said Vodafone and O2-UK respectively on the iPhone. (They do say Asda and Tesco on other phones)

I think the reason is the iPhone uses a carrier bundle (if available) for the actual network it's connected to as retrieved through iTunes, rather than reading it from the SIM like other phones.

In the bar at the top, indicating the network you're connected to. Yes, it will say Tesco and not O2, because its on TESCO - they just connect using O2s cell towers

Not long guys and gals!

I think we might be the first people in the north to be queuing at an Apple store? Been here since lunchtime at Meadowhall Sheffield.
