The U.K. iPhone 4 Thread

OMG u seen the pics of the yellow blobs on the screens? So scared about mine turning up tomorrow now. Will scream if it is faulty too :(
 
Hey Guys,

Don't flame me please, first time poster long time reader ;). I've tried searching this monstrous thread for an answer but no joy.

Ok, so I went into my local O2 Shop and I showed the guy my pre-order email, he took it, went to into the back of the shop and then came out with my Micro Sim. All good so far but when I got home I realised it said "Pay Monthly and Business" on it *face palm*.

So I guess this Micro Sim won't work on my iPhone thats coming in tomorrow, right?

not if its pay and go your on, if your on a simplicity tarif it will work!

I should also add that EVEN IF you're on simplicity but that tariff is still tied to a PAYG sim (e.g. you converted a PAYG tariff to Simplicity). It WON'T work. You have to have a Pay Monthly SIM as your original/template SIM before it works.

Huh? Are you sure? Why ever not?

Hmmm, just checked my microsim leafletty thing and it does indeed make no mention of PAYG. No idea why, though.

Orange as they are the only ones doing PAYG currently but call them don't go to a store, those guys will tell you only Pay Monthly microsims are available.

Does anyone have any info about stock levels in Vodafone stores? Think I'm going to have to abandon CPW and go straight to Vodafone.
 
Well it's now gone 10pm and CPW haven't called me so that's it then, no iPhone for me or the better half thanks to the ineptitude of some South African call centre guy.
 
Just read about the screen & signal problem, I think I'm going to cry :eek:

Hopefully my screen is perfect and my bumper case should solve the signal problem :p

By the looks of things I will be cutting my old sim up for PAYG also...

I called them earlier about this and lady assured me it was just a staging status as they had just picked up the shipment and there were no problems or alerts on the order and it would be delivered tomorrow
 
Right, i'm off to bed now as am up at 5am tomorrow to get to the O2 store for about 6.

Hope you all have a great day tomorrow, and get what you want/have ordered. No doubt i'll catch up with you all some point after I get my iPhone.
