Would a passport, driving license + counterpart and a debit card be enough document wise for opening a phone contract?

should i be worried about this phrase from orange site????

"got an iPhone 4? An Orange SIM Only plan comes with a standard SIM card, so it's not compatible with iPhone 4 just yet."

even tho orange sent me a microsim which i am using fine in my current phone with the adaptor!! that still freaked me out cos i am on the sim only deal but wtf are they on about??

Yes. The website says.

Pay & Go plans*:

UK credit or debit card (with account number and sort code)
PAC code from your current network if you want to keep your existing phone number with o2 or Orange

Pay Monthly rate plans**, in addition to the above, you'll also need:

Proof of current address (driving licence or recently paid utility bill)
To agree to pay your monthly o2, Orange or Vodafone bill via direct debit

are you not already on the deal, therefore no need to start a new one - therefore no need to get a new sim?

if you do have to change SIM only plans, do orange not offer a sim swap like o2 are doing?

not sure if i should order phone now on orange shop, which you can do, and get it next week (monday) although it has delivery option for friday, but going away for weekend from tomorrow afternoon. or go to orange shop near me, at 6am tomorrow and hope for the best, after a 32gb which seem to be pretty rare seeing some of the store's stock levels.

i want it now, prob gonna chance it in the am

Mine's left Tamworth, and is on it's way to Manchester. From where (hopefully) they'll bring it to Liverpool nice and early tomorrow morning.

i've never had an iphone before but i was with orange on a normal £20 a month sim only deal.....but i phoned them up last week asking for a microsim for the iphone 4 and they sent me one but they said i had to go on the iphone tariff of £25 a month....so i said fine...just cos i wanted a guaranteed working iphone on the day i get it and i can always change later!......but what the hell is their website on about then??? i mean, i've got the microsim now working in a different phone!

HI guys,

I have just placed an order online with orange to add a new iphone to my account and provided all the details etc and chose a delivery slot for Friday morning yet after checkout I got a message saying my order is not complete and I need to call a 0500 number to give them more info. Anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

i *think (and hope)* your going to be okay.
correct me if im wrong
you said your already using the microSIM which is working fine in your current phone, you then said that you switched earlier to the iphone SIM only - so i would think that they have swapped your microSIM to your iphone SIM only tariff.
when it says 'SIM only plans come with a normal sim, i think that it applies to totally new SIM only customers and so you should be okay :D

Looks like my iPhone is at Preston now, perhaps Preston airport?? My iphone is on route to Edinburgh

Sorry mate, guess like alot of things, it's luck of the draw. I'm sure we'll both be posing in town with our fancy new iPhones tomorrow :) I'll put any further updates on this thread as no-one has complained yet :p :apple:

i'm a bit peed-off about this antenna issue. will still be picking-up my reservation from regent street...hoping it's a problem with the first 'delivery' batch and won't affect all of them.

The no PAYG on Orange.co.uk is ominous for everyone who was told they had preordered in store, I think. :(

Theres no PAYG for Orange at launch, I preordered and paid a deposit last week for a payg, and was told it was fine instore, got a call yesterday from the store saying there will be no payg at launch, so went down got my deposit back and ordered from apple.

did you order the 16gb or 32gb version?

could be a stock issue or they may need to confirm your address/bank details

If it what I think it is: electrical conductivity of the skin, thus the purpose of the bumper, then, it could be working as designed.

folks, my brother has reserved his iPhone at Birmingham Bullring but he does not finish work till 6 and I think Apple store closes at 8, will they hold his phone till then?

Thanks

I thought they said they would hold them for one day... so should be fine.

Good luck to all

I hope everyone's deliveries arrive; the waiting at store doors isn't too long and everyone gets what they were promised (not so sure the success of that. Hope I'm wrong). I'll be having Orange Business on hold music most of the day.
Enjoy.
And if it doesn't happen on 24 June, it'll happen soon (micro-SIMS, networks, screen blobs and scratches permitting).
