Proves something. Though i must say, i always noticed on my 3GS that cupping or holding my iPhone in a certain way decreased signal bars. But it was kind of obvious that would happen. Maybe that with iOS4 with the signal bar display bug that it's over-exaggerating the signal loss infact. Only time will tell!

Either way, time to say, my iPhone is now at Preston and has nowhere else to travel as thats my local hub, expect nice early delivery tomorrow :)

My 3G hasn't experienced this. Unfortunately, I can't restore back to 3.1.3 on it, to make a further diagnosis.

The issue that some people can reproduce and some not, may be due to chaos, or several other factors.
 
who else cant sleep cos of all this excitement? also how long roughly will it take to get in and out of the store? i have preordered by the way
 
Well, been sat outside my local o2 shop since 11:30pm (sad I know but I had nothing better to do). It's now 2:40 and no sign of anyone else. A few friends who work in the store came down and said there aren't many in stock but we should get some.

Couldn't give us figures but it is much lower that he thought. He said there will be some dissapointed people in our town.

I'll try to post more later...
 
Slept for a grand total of 1 hour! My friends have been checking our O2 store and no one there yet. They're picking me up at 5 to go queue! Can't come soon enough.
 
Anyone else with a Carphone Warehouse order find the DHL info hasn't updated?

Not sure if its the site not updating, or it hasn't left yet..
 
Are you allowed to take rucksacks and bags to these launches or are the security guys likely to be a bit funny about it? Just asking as I wouldn't want to turn up with a bag full of entertainment only to be told after 3 hours of queueing that I'm not allowed in with a rucksack on...I might be a bit paranoid/sad here but I'm just trying to cover all bases, I don't want anything to go wrong

Well, I have my iPhone, and my MacBook. Scared to get the MacBook out of my car though just yet, as the drunks are walking past. Student night in my town on a Wednesday.

Number 3am just arrived. It's getting busier.

Damn now that's Apple Fanism lol You on twitter Smog? took a deckchair? which store you outside?

I'll be going to the Apple store in Birmingham after a 9am meeting :( got my iPhone reserved just hopes its there and the queue has died down.

If you have friends working in the store WHY are you queuing up over night lol?

Yeah @dannysmallman not updated much though. Might do a bit more later.

I've got my deckchair and I'm at the o2 store in Barnsley. It's bloody freezing. You should be fine then with your pre-order.

They can't reserve one for me. They've already told me that. There manager has a strict policy.

Are all iPhones sold in the UK unlocked? Or only the ones bought from the Apple Store at full-price unlocked?

So if I get my phone from say O2 or Vodafone on contract, will it be locked?

Well someone has to support them haha. I refuse to fall asleep now. It's been too long. I'm over half way through my wait time.
 
Morning all. It's D-Day!

Just woke up after an awful nights sleep (the nerves are getting the better of me). Having a quick cuppa and a bit of toast before I depart to anxiously queue for many an hour. Just wanted to say good luck to everyone trying to get an iPhone today. See you all on the other side!
