I also live in Dubai and I am using Aramex Shop & Ship to receive my sim free iPhone 4 from the UK. The service takes 2 days from the UK and it cost me 129 AED for my pre-ordered iPad, camera kit and dock. My iPhone will cost around 59 AED. I will most likely receive delivery on Saturday or Sunday latest. I already have my micro sim from Etisalat so I'm good to go :)

interesting ..

i have a couple of questions if u dont mind, PLEASE :)

1- i've heard that apple.com rejects ARAMEX mailbox, is that right ? it seems NOT since you're receiving ur iphone already.

2- what are the procedures for getting micro sim from Etisalat ?

last but not least, what TYPE of credit card have u used to order from apple.com, i have VISA Electron and i doubt it's gonna work

Just as expected i cant even reach O2. I'm starting to think i'm gonna be one of the last people to get my phone and then i wont be able to use it till tomorrow due to activation servers crashing

Local Apple store has a massive queue outside :(. I couldn't see two seperate lines (reservations/non-reservations).

In the office now, and keep going to the window to look at the queue..... once its died down I'm gonna nip out and go grab mine.

Your fault really, should of reserved, preorded or not sold. Who are you blaming?
I'm stuck to O2.. I could not have pre-ordered. They also said that ALL reserved phones had been sold too. I had a reservation with CPW actually anyway, they just didn't save one.

Yeah, I shouldn't have sold it. But if Apple had started producing iPhone 4's say.. 2 months earlier, the White iPhone would be available, they would have run into the iPhone 4 universal problem 2 months ago, stores would have more stock, and I would be holding an iPhone 4 right now.

Got about an hour's wait, got here at 9:00.

I think Tesco's phone lines are crushing under the pressure! Hoping to get my order through before Noon, i want my iPhone!

Trying both numbers they offer, one is just a busy tone, the other says its busy. Got through to the 'Press 1 for Pay Monthly' part (After ignoring going to apple.com for the new iPhone) but then busy.

Im sure apple would of started production earlier if they could, its not as simple as that.

I've still not had my micro sim from O2  After i get my simless iphone 4 from the apple store tomorrow, what can I do?

I assume if I go to O2 they can give me a microsim and adapter?

Same :(.

If Apple can't give me an O2 Contract MicroSIM (I just want the SIM, but I bet they'll only have them if your starting a new contract) I'm gonna head to the O2 store. Failing that I'll ask the handyman at work if he's got a good knife!

Why not cut down your existing sim?

Morning. FAIL.

Well that sucked. Got up early, outside Orange, hoping for a PAYG Unit, as I know Orange have released prices ect......Store Opens, told New Contracts/Uprades only for the 6 units they had. Livid, is an understatement.

Went to CPW at 9am, again, nope, no PAYG. Only selling on a contract. Looks like I'll be waiting a while, really do not wanna sign up to a new contract.

Aaaargghhh. The wait is unbearable. Watford to Stanmore is only like 20 mins!! Come on!!! Hope he hasn't been van-jacked!!!

Anyone know if Apple Store Brent cross will stock the bumpers?

Well, I've now decided I definitely won't be getting mine today --- it is in some place called Tamworth, and, well, I'm in Northern Ireland. I'm going to assume this is coming over land and ferry as well, rather than the more conventional plane.

I'm not really that bothered, because there's a high probability I would have missed the delivery anyway as I'm going to work at 11 until 6. I'm off tomorrow though, so it better come then when I have nothing else to do! :)

Vodafone's iPhone PAYG page: http://shop.vodafone.co.uk/iphone/pay-as-you-go.html

I like the look of that. 12 months free Internet, 500MB a month, beats Orange's 250MB. I wonder when they'll launch it on PAYG, though?

I'm alright waiting, early adapters never prosper (sorry guys, I like the guinea pigs to fix the problems first :p)

Ah. Looks like Vodafone might have wondered if the PAYG offer was better than it needed to be. If you follow that link now it says "To be confirmed" for "iPhone cost" (i.e. handset price I assume) and "Inclusive data".

I agree that, if they do confirm 500MB, it's clearly better than Orange but then again Tesco seem to be offering 1GB included data but again no availability on PAYG yet (I think).

What to do? What to do? I think I'm going to be a lightish data user and I really fancy one today. I have a unit reserved at my local Apple store and the Orange 250MB will probably be OK so I think I'll just go for that.

erm arn't you silly? Why didn't you pre-order from Apple. It was obvious if anyone wanted a PAYG you pre-order from apple *fish slaps*

Not when I didnt have the funds then. Only just got the funds, if I had the funds at the time pre-orders opened, I would of!

Now the wait is until Mid July.

I feel sorry for you. At least your CPW was selling iPhones.. my local O2 was sold out in 10 minutes, say they had 10 employees in there, thats probably about 10 iPhone 4's given to O2.. CPW was about the same. Sucks doesn't it.

I got up ridiculously early this morning intending to go and stand outside my local O2 shop but at the last minute decided to check a few carriers' websites to see if any of them had opened up online ordering. Lo and behold, Vodafone had literally just opened theirs so I quickly ordered myself a 32GB on an 18 month contract with store pickup tomorrow. They sent out the "buy now!" email to people who had registered their interest just after I got my confirmation email and I've just now got the 'Congratulations! Our credit check indicates you're not a dirty thieving git!' email.

There's no particular indication as to whether Vodafone is only taking as many orders as it has handsets but given that I must have been one of the first people to order one I'll be gutted if it's not in the store tomorrow! I'm still a wee bit jealous of folk who got theirs today...

Congrats - I did the same at 7:25am but for 90 minutes it wouldn't accept my VISA debit card. Tried different browsers, computers, check with the bank if there was a problem with the card. All fine. But not accepted- I suspect because VF wanted a start date that I couldn't access as it was greyed out. After 90 mins that they were out of stock. Oh well.

How lucky am I !!!

Today got up at 6:45ish was at Exeter apple store by 7:15. In the shop at 8:10 (Apple store open since when i got there very naughty i know) during my time in the queue i drunk some free water, OJ and tea all from the local starbucks. Have now been playing on the phone for the last hour and i have to say... its amazing! no yellow spots no dropped calls or bad signal. Perfect. Apple you have my soul in an even tighter grasp now. <3 :apple:

Yesss! Was going to get 16GB but went 32 on £45 -will downgrade to 35 after 12 months (they don't advertise that you can do that half way through a contract).

Tottenham Hale O2 have loads of stock, part of a group of three franchise stores that have 2000 handsets between them. So if anyone is in a long line going no where and are in easy access of tott hale tube get on down - they're open until midnight.

Visa electron should be fine... I used Maestro to order my MBP, but my bank recently switched to visa electron cuz it's more widely accepted... having said that... my bank is in england, not dubai...
