oopps i hit the sim metal on my 3gs sim card, that dead now, luckly i had a old tmobile sim that will do till i get my giffgaff, i will just turn data off, oh it knows theres a sim in there but it gets no signal, must be an out of date sim card

Did you still try the sim card, as it only uses the centre of the metal bit.

Just been to the window.... still busy outside Apple :(.

There are two seperate queue (neither with any signs though). There's a big queue, and an even bigger queue.

Looks like I'm carrying on working for a while longer then!

interesting ..

i have a couple of questions if u dont mind, PLEASE :)

1- i've heard that apple.com rejects ARAMEX mailbox, is that right ? it seems NOT since you're receiving ur iphone already.

2- what are the procedures for getting micro sim from Etisalat ?

last but not least, what TYPE of credit card have u used to order from apple.com, i have VISA Electron and i doubt it's gonna work

1. apple.com US rejected my US Aramex mailbox when I tried to order an iPad but the UK Aramex mailbox has worked 3 times so far (Airport Express, iPad & iPad case). Let's hope it works a 4th time!

2. To get a micro sim from Etisalat visit any of their business centres and handover 25 AED and they will give you the new sim. Mine was up and running within a couple of hrs yesterday.

3. I used my UK visa credit card to pay for my Iphone 4.

Ours must be in the same van! Mines also headed to Newtownabbey at the same time. I'm in Bangor, so it shouldn't be too long to be delivered tomorrow. Do you reckon it's coming via ferry then?

just phoned tnt.....they said they dont have a set way of delivering.....unless some people have like premium deliveries in which they are first.....so guess we're just gonna have to be patient.........whatever that means :D

Was in the queue at the Eldon Square Apple Store from about 5.50am. They let everyone in at 6 ish and unfortunately some people legged it to jump the queue (tut tut).

Store opened at 7am as others have said, main queue was filled straight away, second queue further back filled in minutes.

Got in the store around 7.45am, out at 8.30am. Was panicing as I didn't have photo ID, but they only asked for my debit card, phew! Looks like theres going to be problems upgrading, with o2 upgrades portal dying twice while I was there.

When we left the queue was a fair bit longer, going to be a long day for some.

Oh, and don't take this as gospel but the lad who served me was saying they don't have enough stock to fill reservations, they only found out last night how many units they where getting.

Fairly large queue at o2 near Grey's Monument, vodafone store empty, phones4u empty, carphone warehouse on N'land street small queue.

And in store they must be doing 3, as it was shown on the screen savers. Apologies if this has already been mentioned, only did a quick scan of the thread.

Finally, iPhone 4........ Nice!

Today got up at 6:45ish was at Exeter apple store by 7:15. In the shop at 8:10 (Apple store open since when i got there very naughty i know) during my time in the queue i drunk some free water, OJ and tea all from the local starbucks. Have now been playing on the phone for the last hour and i have to say... its amazing! no yellow spots no dropped calls or bad signal. Perfect. Apple you have my soul in an even tighter grasp now. <3 :apple:

I'm on my way to the Exeter apple store now! What were the queues like? :D

Decided that I can't be bothered with long network contracts after a load of ridiculousness today, so I'm going to order a SIM free from Apple and wait it out for the next few weeks. Hopefully will get it delivered earlier than their predictions.

think someone in croydon got theirs.

in central london still waiting! :(

says its been out on delivery since 5:54am...

Come one...i have a friend waiting in the Q at Regent St Apple store; wanna see if i can beat him!

UPS make it happen!

Tamworth is near the lovely city of Birmingham (wise location for a central hub). I will be getting mine today, but waiting for an e-mail/call from our delivery department. I'm sticking with my T-Mobile Flext contract until February when I'll most likely upgrade for another contract and sell my spare iPhone :D.

Prices aren't ridiculous considering the total you will spend over the full course of a 18 or 24 month contract if you pay circa £200 for a phone up front.

Sim-Free/Unlocked phones have always been high price. Nokia, Sony Ericcson have been charging £450+ for their phone for years.

The price that you pay over eg. 2 years are still better value, yes obviously they cost more.. you're paying for minutes/texts/internet as well, it works out at £460 more for 16GB-iP4-£35/pm. Yeah, still a lot. but thats over 2 years.

Still, I would have been more happy if they sent more stock to Exeter, there was barely anything there.
