Scotland deliveries

Tracking shows delivery attempted but clearly I'm not there.

Just south of Glasgow.

Hey, just received mine in Perth (at work).

It was on overnight delivery from Tamworth. UPS website wasnt updated to say it was out for delivery. So i called them to go pick it up, whilst on phone the box was put on my desk :):):):)

Got to say, full marks to UPS!

Apple had said 28th June in their revised delivery date email. UPS were saying the 25th. So chuffed its here!!

It's worth the wait, work of art!

Just got back home, restoring my brand new iPhone!

Got up about 5:30 got to the Leicester store and joined the reserved queue, would have been about 15th person in line. They opened at 7 to some great cheers! Had to wait in line for about 2 hours as various servers were being slow. Eventually got inside and was told to wait by the iphone display and have a play till a specialist was free.

Was upgrading on O2, which seemed the most popular route so waited about 30 mins more. Got seen to and was about 45 mins there mainly because O2’s web interface was a bit crap and didn’t really help the specialist out.

Paid for my phone, and they waived the upgrade fee as i’m only 3 days from my upgrade date, activated in about 10 seconds and I was done. Waited for my housemate which took about 30 mins more, and we both left.

It was a pretty good experience, whilst there were a couple of hiccups, was done really well and the staff had such energy. I’ll be doing this again in two years time! :D

Hope you’re all having a good iPhone 4 day!

Orange in WGC are always pretty rubbish. O2 are normally quite good but they hadn't had a delivery of Microsims in at the start of the week when you were meant to be able to get them from Monday, so ended up having to go to Stevenage to get one.

I'm still not sure who to go with, but since orange are so retarded, i might have to go with o2, im going to go witht the white iPhone, hoping that there wont be so much signal/yellow blob problems.

when i got my iPhone 3g, 2 years ago, one person went in and the manager came out and said servers had crashed, i waited 2 days for my contract to get activated ,was loads fo bull.

Oh dear, upon close inspection it seems I'm a victim of the dreaded yellow banding at one side of the screen.

If I were you I would call UPS ASAP. I had this happen to me a while ago with TNT. About an hour later my delivery update online had changed to "customer not home" and in the end, even after much conversation on the phone with TNT's customer services, I had to get it redelivered the next working day, which was a Monday.

Thanks for the advice. I just called UPS again and they said it would take 30-mins to show up as a no delivery if tracking via internet - so far it still says Out for delivery. This incident happened about 45mins ago now.

I am hoping it was nothing, but we'll have to wait and see. I'm off on holiday tomorrow AM so am screwed.

I'm trying to speak to O2 to get them to sort my insurance out for my new phone, just a case of swapping it over!

Every number I try is engaged, this is crazy!

Sorry, you have already requested the maximum number of codes for today. Please try again tomorrow.

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTT

I tried it in the Apple store and by the time I left it hadn't come through. Once I got back to my office it had come through, but it's useless now I'm on a different computer.

Go to do it again and I've hit a limit! :(

Got mine in London and same here, a yellow band at the bottom of the screen.
I will make pics tonight, very disappointed...

See my post above yours, cut my 3G sim down this morning... O2 won't care, though do make a note of the numbers on your sim for swapping to a proper micro sim at a later date!

No, it asked for a SIM with no pin lock to activate via. iTunes sadly, hence I chopped mine up!

Could you link me with the site you used? And what tools did you need?

Latest word on the yellow banding or spots is they will disappear after a few days. Apparently, it's the bonding that glues the screen to the glass front. It should be left to "set" for a bit, but the phones have been rushed out by Apple without the proper "setting period".

So some folks are saying, anyway. See Macrumors.

I've got the reception issue!!!'

Right had a bit of a mere this morning, finsihed work and went over to Fenchurch Street Vodafone store and laughed at the 200+ queue at the 02 store. Queued for over an hour (processing these contracts seem to take some people an age) only to be told there were 3 16GB phones left. So I asked how many 32GB and they said that they did not get any, half the queue just left at that point after I had a bit of a strop and said at least put a sign in the window.

Then went to the Vodafone store in Liverpool St only to be told that if I hadn't preordered they had no walk in stock. That was news to me Vodafone hadn't announced any preordering scheme. So jumped on train back to Ealing, CPW had stock but out of 32GB on Vodafone.

Phones 4U told me to go to the Vodafone shop as they had loads, and now here I sit with my new toy. Although apparently it takes two days to port a number and on Vodafone you can't use the temp number you get with the SIM.

Every o2 store though had a queue, they should have offered out of contract customers first upgrades for two weeks and then let people in contract upgrade. Who wants to queue all day in this heat?

i've got the signal issue.

iPhone 4, t-mob (with cut down sim), 4 bars of signal with the phone on a table with no contact.

if i put my thumb across the left 'notch' and dont touch the metal anywhere else, the signal drops to 'Searching...' within about 30 seconds (though sometimes it seems to only go to 1 bar). I'm not picking the phone up. If I let go, it rises back to 4 bars. Actually, i seem to get the same issue however i hold the phone.

I'm in a really flakey area for signal.

Well CPW came through and I received my iPhone at 10.30am this morning. Very happy indeed even though my sim swap is taking forever. I have even resorted to cutting up my current.

Happy iPhone 4 day everyone!!

Managed to pick up one from O2 at Cribbs Causeway Bristol, despite arriving at 9.15am. Had to queue for 3 hours but was worth it. Still about 60 people in the queue behind me - the last ones turned up at 11am! Apparently they have the stock.
