The U.K. iPhone 4 Thread

Had a blast on the queue at Apple's flagship store on Regent Street, from midnight last night till about 9am this morning. It then took 1 hour or so to get sorted. I'm exhausted now and in need of a good (afternoon's) sleep.

I'm in Hornchurch, Essex and it's coming from the Barking depot.

COME ON TNT!!!
 
Got mine now, just syncing it up. Vodafone's been great so far, better signal than O2. I have got the signal issue mildly, but nothing too bad so far. My screen isn't yellow and it's beautiful. Well worth the wait.
 
just a tip to lose of you still queuing - get a bumper if you can (only available in black) - you'll be way less paranoid about scratching the back!

anyone going for a bumper plus some sort of pouch to put the iphone4 in?

dont worry man it will come... he said i was only 3rd person hes delivered to with an iphone amazingly!! and he only has 2 more in exeter i think so dont worry u'll get it dude.
 
Delivered at work 9:00 in white city.

Feels heavier then the 3GS, and much more solid.

The lines in westfield were crazy. People from work that lined up to get their reservations are only now coming back to the office. Its crazy slow in the Apple store.

So glad I pre-ordered and had delivered to work.
 
Getting fed up of seeing no service in the top left hand corner of the screen. Hope it switches over soon.

Still waiting for UPS to deliver to me. And I am quite far from there depot as well so getting a little concerned.

Yea that was me! Looks like i might order tomorrow from tesco online. Whats your experience with the whole signal deal?

That is indeed correct! I decided not to bother going to the store as it would be easier to order it on the phone and have it delivered tomorrow, evidently Tesco Mobile had other ideas and I now have to wait yet another day :(

Btw, if you have trouble getting through to them tomorrow try the brunt force method, if you keep redialing you will get through eventually, took me about 5-10 minutes

Yea i got through, seems like even their on hold system can't handle the numbers of callers as after several tries i bludgeoned my way onto the line only to be put on hold. My call was answered after only a few minutes on hold though.
 
Just an update. I have had my iPhone since 11am when TNT came (in a big truck). The delivery man was very nice and said he had lots to do through the whole day, so if yours has not come yet, just wait..it is on it’s way!

I’m also pleased to let you know that I am not suffering from any of the issues such as yellow blobs and bad signal (I trimmed down my old sim and it works great!)

PS- The screen is absolutely gorgeous..but many apps will need updating to take advantage of this.

EDIT: If anyone has the original iPhone Dock, I can tell you that the iPhone 4 fits inside well..so no need to buy another one!
 
I was crapping myself, had college till half 11 and dreaded the lines, but everyone seemed to have gone to the o2 and apple store so walked straight into vodafone and took about 20 minutes :D. Oh this was at the trafford centre btw.
 
I have the reception problem, but it only occurs when I touch the bottom left corner, otherwise I have a full signal. Strange... I wonder what Apple are going to do about this, if anything.

Text from the carphone warehouse - those that missed out on ordering yesterday phone 0800 781 7962 by 4pm today for a chance at getting one.
