TESCO - I've just been trying to get through their order line but it's been engaged constantly. I'm guessing they are totally overwhelmed right now!!!

Is there any other way of ordering? Even walking into a store and picking one up? Staff discount too possibly ;)

After all that, I kinda wished I'd got the 32GB model.....

Hey guys, a little help.

Got my iphone 4 today, dead chuffed, sim free and want to use my 02 simplicity contract in it, so that needs to be transferred to micro sim which i do have and did the online form at 02. But it hasn't done it transferred yet, its been about 6 hours so i cant use my new iphone?

So to anyone who transferred existing contract to microsim, how long did it take?? should i do the form again, or should i ring up??

thanks for any help!!:D

I had the same problem today, to fix this go to general settings

Then down to reset at the bottom

Then reset network settings

After a few minutes the iPhone will reboot and hopefully you will be active

Yep, I just rang and it was engaged. It could be that they have rebooted the system, might be available to order over the phone soon, they are open until 9pm!

Not available to order online yet, only over the phone.

N.ireland

Hi all first post,

Ordered my phone (32gb black) within a half an hour of the pre-orders going live.

What i am wanting to know is if anyone here in the forums is from northern ireland and got their apple.com/uk preorders yet. I know they said it could take longer. But there is no excuse for keeping the estmaed delivery date at 24th untill today (the 24th) and then changing it to the 29th.

Honestly i am gona drop a ******** nuclear b*mb on apple if it doesnt arrive till next week. Its a really *****y sales tactic to change dates on the day it should have been delivered.

And what worries me more is that my card hasnt even been charged for it. However the website has said it has been posted and is with TNT.

I hope someone can shed some light....

End rant.

Hi guys, have been following this monster thread for a while :)

Does anyone know what the situation is with the reservation queue at Bentalls Centre? I reserved my iPhone for pickup but I can only get there by 7.30 and not sure if there will be enough time to get the iPhone...

Anyone? :apple:

i don't believe this. i went to the Apple Store on Regent's Street today at 5PM, with confirmation of my reservation, only to find that the queue is 3 hours long. And thats not even for people hoping to pick one up at the end of the day, thats just people waiting to collect iphones. This launch is crazy!!!

I got there bout 4.30pm with my reservation email and was shocked when was told to join the 3hr line. The thing is the iPad launch line was long but 10 times faster as it was buy and go.

It's all the contracts and activation that's causing the qeues.

Still waiting in line and it's now 6.06pm

What were the new terms of your new contract & how much did you pay for the phone?

I have three monthly contracts with O2 and asked for a PAC on Monday and when they asked what for I said it was because Voda's rates were better.

I got my PAC but didn't really wanna move so I phoned yesterday to see if I could get a deal but they weren't budging.

Consequently I jumped ship to Voda today. Would have preferred to stay but it would appear that they wouldn't offer a deal until I had already changed, (got my phone at 9:00 this morning after queueing for 15 minutes).

Shame really. As a result I will be swapping my other two contracts when they expire because I felt they had no interest in retaining me as a customer until it was too late.

I have been coming to this site daily for the last year or so and have only ever made a few posts.

I just wanted to say that i have had no trouble what so ever. My microsim arrived 3 days after i ordered it, i transferred over to it within an hour, i reserved my iPhone to pick up from Southampton. Went over after work at about half 4 this afternoon, no queue what so ever, upgraded and was out within 20 minutes.

This phone is the sexist thing i have ever seen in my life.

Well done Apple, well done.

Believe me I tried to haggle a lot, unfortunately the salesman could not do much and then called the manager, he basically said, although you are such an old customer and going for a 32gb phone, I cannot give you any better offers. Its all about supply and demand. Infact he was prepared to give me the PAC code.

O2 have been quite good to me in the past so I just went for the 45£ per month 18 month contract an got the phone for the advertised price!

I went to the O2 store in the morning at two places and both stated NONE in stock and I would be lucky to get it anywhere. During my conversation he did mention that they have 100s in stock for old customers!

Hope this helps.

I've done the O2 swap my SIM thing, how long does it take to swap the numbers around?

Also, I've changed my O2 tariff to the Text and Web PAYGO one, how long will it take to change?

Just been on phone with O2 ( I am an existing customer) and asked them to give me a PAC code for cancelling my contract. Immediately I was asked what for, and once I replied to them that I wanted an upgrade and all O2 shops refused to give me one and I was planning on going to Tesco. I was put through to the retention team and given a new contract and they have already shipped my new phone!

Please remember this is for the existing O2 customers only!

I'd also like to know the answer to this. I wouldn't stay with O2 if they were just offering standard contracts, but if they're actually making deals then I might be in.

Help!

Hey guys and girls...

Well I got my phone today after an epic queue at the Apple store at White City. Bought the sim free version. I'm on orange, and as they have been such arses in the past week, I have had to resort to cutting my sim down to micro-sim size. All went well but when I insert it in the iphone i get....

"no sim installed.....insert a valid sim with no pin lock to activate"

the sim is still working in my old phone. have tried re seating the sim countless times, restored twice but to no avail. Anyone else have this issue or any ideas out there?

Thanks in advance

Just got through to Tesco but they say their systems are still down and are not going to be working again till tomorrow

thanks drmsa. Shame they couldn't offer you ANYTHING, but not surprising.

Oh well just waiting for Tesco to get their system back to life.

^^ just read the last post.at least I have no work tomorrow so can call at 9am unlike this morning. Must say I was a little relieved when they said their systems were down, thought they would all be gone by 5pm!
