Do you have home insurance? If so, a few insurers let you increase cover for phones & gadgets. If not, google for gadget insurance. Personally, I would self-insure by putting a tenner in a bank each month and also being careful not to leave your phone anywhere or drop it etc... I've had my 3G for two years and it is in perfect condition. I use a Sena Slim case which is surprisingly protective, I'm also very careful with the phone.

HTH :)

I just sold my 3G 8GB and had it for 18mths not even a scratch, funilly enough I also had a Sena case!

Do you know if they are releasing them for the IP4? that case was just great at gripping the phone and not letting it out. I also like the idea about putting cash in the bank. Cheers mate.

I don't think i'll go for the apple cover as the only covers Iphone 4 faults and not accidental damage.

Anyone know when the o2 stores will receive new stock? I was hoping they'd get some tomorrow because I'm off work..

Never have a been this eager to throw my money at someone.

It's stupid the stores won't tell me if they are likely to get stock in, just keep telling me to check the online stock checker which isn't very good.

No worries for advice, glad it helped.

Sena do have a new range of cases for iPhone 4:

I will be getting the Ultraslim one again - adds hardly any bulk and looks good. Also, looks like they have addressed the issue of the leather coming away from the lining at the top by stitching it in.

I ordered from their US site last time and will do again - delivery was fairly quick if I recall correctly.

They have an online stock checker:

Done well ordering one over the phone - I suppose it depends on who you speak to. I expect O2 staff have discretion to do phone orders, probably meant for premium customers. I am going to request my pac from O2 as I will probably change to Vodafone - I wonder if they will offer to upgrade me? Doubt it!

Are you on Simplicity? Apparently they've been given the OK to do it for premium customers and those on SIM-only plans (ie, those that aren't tied into a contract)... If you've got to do an early upgrade, they'll probably not do it. Which is a bit crap, as they're clearly doing it to keep as many people as possible!

Give 2302 a call and have a word with the upgrade team (Option 2, then 2, then 1 I think)

I wouldn't trust that. My local store got new stock in on Friday morning, but it didn't appear on the stock checker until the afternoon. By then it was too late.

On the flipside it has some stores still having stock, but when you ring that store they are all sold out.

It's not accurate or updated enough.

Yeah, I'm on Simplicity (the £20 plan). Cheers for the heads up on that one I might give it go this pm, if I ask for my pac they might be more inclined. :)

I was planning on holding off but temptation is getting too great! I have got an order with Apple, ships on 14th July - I really want to stay contract-free. Decisions, decisions, decisions....!

Hey hey hey, Apologies if this has been mentioned already...

Can anyone clarify if the PAYG iPhone 4 handsets from Tesco are unlocked? Also are PAYG handsets available anywhere else other that Apple yet?

Cheers. M

Just ordered a 16GB directly from Apple after such a bad experience with Tesco the past few days (who were my preferred option). I'm now going to use Tesco's rolling £10 per month contract which works out as £30 more for the first year. Is anybody else doing this?

By the way, estimated delivery date on 16GB from Apple for me is 21st July so that might be an indication of stock levels.

do you guys reckon that any apple store will have iphones in stock, personally im hoping they will have some by thursday

I believe most Apple stores have a direct phoneline - give them a call mate, enquire & post back your findings. :)

i agree!!!!!

if everyone who comes on here asking about stock was to ring up and post back their findings we will all know then! then we dont need the same questions over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over..... you get the point :)
