Genuine question, not intended to be rude, but how are you using "upgrade" here? I was under the impression that it was always best to stop paying the full monthly cost of a contract as soon as possible (ie once your 18 months is up) because you've essentially paid off the subsidy on the phone - did you think they would give you a new iPhone at more of a discount than if you just started a new 18 month contract when the new one came out? I thought you were always eligible to upgrade once your minimum contract was done, in the sense of being eligible to sign a new contract (with the same pricing etc as if you were a new customer). Or am I missing something?

I was in the same situation as you and dropped down to the £20 simplicity deal as soon as my 18 month contract with my 3G was up in January. I get 600 minutes, 1200 texts and unlimited data for my £19.99 a month. I'm not sure how this compares to other deals, but it's only 30 days' notice, so I'm not tied down for 18 or 24 months.

This is mainly because I'm an idiot, I didn't look at simplicity tariffs until recently and last time I looked (some time last year) they didn't include free data... I've downgraded contract now.

Still want an iPhone 4 though :(

hello

hey guys well if it helps I can tell you my story with the new iphone 4
On launch I pre-ordered my new iphone 4 16 gb because the local orange retailer didn't had any in stock (what a suprise)......
So I paid the 60 ounds diposit which apperantly ensures me the new iphone 4 when they have it in stock.....
Ok lets re-cap I ordered on the 24th of june. Well they said they are getting new stocks at the 29th of june. Well when I went to the store they said they didn't. So they told me that they would phone me as soon as they get new stocks which would be either today or friday. So well I'm hoping that my local orange store is getting the iphone 4 tomorrow cause I'm really fed up with it. I thought that the 3g was a heck of stress. But waiting for the phone is even harder.......:( 0 mean how much did they actually sell on launch day????
Not that many were really lining up fore an iphone......
So you guys have anything new from orange???I really need to get that phone....

if you use 9 digit tracking number from us apple store on tnt site say you are in united states even if your in uk. This seems to get some info up!

Before ordering an adaptor at £5 does anyone know anywhere cheaper to get a micro-sim adaptor. I read somewhere that O2 supplied them in the micro-sim pack but I didn't seem to get one in mine. Has anyone else acquired one??

i know this has been asked in this topic, but i cant be arsed to sift through, what do i need to show o2 too get a micro sim from them? order details or anything ?

I din't have to show anything but then I was carrying an Apple Store bag so could have been fairly obvious I had an iPhone 4. Once you ask for it they look up your details on the computer, get you a micro-sim pack, give you a receipt and you go. :)

I got a microSIM from O2 in the mail today, and an adaptor came along with it.

It would seem the ones they send in the mail have adaptor but the ones in the O2 shops don't. I take it you requested a sim or did you get sent them when you registered your interest on the O2 site??

I got my micro sim from O2 in the post, no adapter included. It seems to be pot luck.

My O2 micro sim (pay and go) was from a shop and had no adapter (just got one from eBay for £3.88 anyway so not a massive loss).

Ironically I'm using the adapter for my T-Mobile contract sim (that I cut down) in an old Nokia as I don't want to taint my iPhone 4 while waiting for the contract to end so I can go onto O2 pay n go and finally get a decent reception at home (why didn't I think to try all the networks out 16 months ago!)

Vodafone signal is great indoors too so not sure which I'll go with. They actually show data usage on their iPhone app which is a plus but am sure O2 will update theirs at some point (clearly can just use the Settings | Usage for now). I want graphs, and more stats! - why don't they realise an awesome tariff usage App would really swing it for iPhone owners? They're all reviewed quite badly. If any carriers want me to write them an app give me a PM and we'll talk numbers :) (only half joking)

A little :apple: folder customisation.

Whilst 02 continue to insite my hone wont be dispatched till later today. The DHL tracking number i got sent at 7 last night says its out for dilivery!

Heres hoping!

The Orange store link to the iphone is down this morning showing as work is in progress.
Maybe they are changing it to cover themselves from legal claims by all the p*ssed off customers?

Morning all,
Just thought I would update you on Tesco, will no iPhones. Waiting to her back from Apple on when they will get another shipment.

Talking to the guy about Apple is like getting blood out of a stone.

It's not going to happen.

I'll sum up the article. Some people take pictures of another man, who talks to the man taking some pictures about cameras. They then take more pictures.

That's pretty much it, but Ive insinuates that he has a lot to say about the signal issues.

Ask for a adaptor in a o2 store and they will give you one for free.

Good to see so many people still want one despite the reception issues

Personally I'm hanging on a couple of weeks to see how it pans out once the initial hysteria dies down and I can find out if there's really a widespread problem or just a few very vocal people complaining on forums, and to see if there's a fix. Not sure why other people aren't doing the same?
