jst spk to 02. Apparently i jst missed on on 2day stock, even tho i was told they had some when i ordered, but they are getting more in 2moro and mine will be dispatched then

Really sorry to hear that-my call that I timed at 1pm did go on a bit so perhaps it was before yours. I've had a stack of emails from O2-first saying it had been despatched by DHL with a tracking number that didn't work-latest is it has been handed to Royal Mail First Class in a package small enough to go thro' me letter box so I don't have to wait in! Perhaps they make it up as they go along!
Latest from O2 'Guru Dave' is they've got a fresh stock in their stores Fri/Sat from 12 MD-my local Pe. store still shows no i4's in stock yet. Life perhaps could be so much simpler, like leave it 2months!

I'm on an iPhone 3G, £35/month, have been since July/August 2008, and have been eligible for an upgrade since February, was holding out in the hope they might let me upgrade 6 months late... but no.
Genuine question, not intended to be rude, but how are you using "upgrade" here? I was under the impression that it was always best to stop paying the full monthly cost of a contract as soon as possible (ie once your 18 months is up) because you've essentially paid off the subsidy on the phone - did you think they would give you a new iPhone at more of a discount than if you just started a new 18 month contract when the new one came out? I thought you were always eligible to upgrade once your minimum contract was done, in the sense of being eligible to sign a new contract (with the same pricing etc as if you were a new customer). Or am I missing something?

I was in the same situation as you and dropped down to the £20 simplicity deal as soon as my 18 month contract with my 3G was up in January. I get 600 minutes, 1200 texts and unlimited data for my £19.99 a month. I'm not sure how this compares to other deals, but it's only 30 days' notice, so I'm not tied down for 18 or 24 months.

Were all the people that managed to get an upgrade from O2 today on tariffs of > £35 per month?

I'm on £35 per month, and contract ran out in January, but they wouldn't do anything for me (except switch me to a cheaper tariff). Been with them since the first iPhone in November 2007...

I'm on the Apple Regents St store reserve/priority list since Monday, but I'm impatient... :)

I was on the 30 day simplicity tariff as my contract expired in February (have been on an iPhone tariff for around 2 years or so) and I only signed up for the £30 per month 18 month tariff this time. I haven't had an email or text but my online status has changed to completed and I am tracking DHL online with my tracking number.

orange stuff!

I would definitely NOT order online from them .. it seems like most who have done it that way have just been forgotten almost! .. such poor customer service :(

on the other hand when I phoned to order on Monday the person who took my order was totally upfront and told me straight away that it was just a 'pre-order' as they had no stock and that stock could take 10 working days at worst. And I took it as a good sign that he suggested I phone in a couple of days to check on it.

Hoping all the web orders get sorted out soon .. it's ridiculous having an online sales option if they don't actually deliver the goods!!

Contact went in Feb, been on a simplicity since then. Rang 2302 from my phone.

Just out of interest, those that have managed to get one thru the upgrade line do u currently have a iphone contract of some sort?

Those that got told out of stock what phone/contract are u on?

As soon as the person i spoke to saw i had been on iphone contracts for 2 years she said ill get one order and sorted for u straight away.

I did tell them that I had just finished my iPhone contract of two years and still got told I couldn't order one. Have to say the person was very rude and I don't appreciate the variety of handling here. Either they're bad at communicating or some are just lying to me. Think I'll go for Vodafone, perhaps.

Three have just rang me to sort out iPhone 4's

They will be shipping on the 27th July.

Also for the data freaks out there, even tho you get 1GB of data for and extra £5 you can up it to 2GB (or add 2GB to it, im not sure the woman was'nt very clear). if you go over your data your get charged 10p per MB.

Did you receive a text saying it would be available on the week commencing 19th July?

Just wondering whether all dates have been pushed back...

Thank you :) hope they have some by the 29th or i won't be a happy bunny :(

3G has stopped working on my launch day iPhone 4. Edge works sometimes. The sim card works fine in my 3GS. Anyone heard of this problem before? Done a full restore with no joy(and another problem, iTunes wiped my iPhone 4 back up when I just choose to call my restore iPhone 'iPhone' to test it out - is my back up lost forever? )

I'm assuming if I take it back to the Apple store at the weekend, if they have stock, they'll have to give me a brand new replacement? It's just over a week old, so I'd want one in a sealed box!

Flumps,
I would imagine by the 29th the demand for the iPhone will have calmed down and Tesco along with all the other operators will have stock to sell but only time will tell!
