A little :apple: folder customisation.

Excuse me for asking, but how did you type the :apple: on the iphone?

To everyone else, I apologized for the little distraction from the main thread.

Edit: Nevermind, I've found out how. Thanks anyways.

Personally I'm hanging on a couple of weeks to see how it pans out once the initial hysteria dies down and I can find out if there's really a widespread problem or just a few very vocal people complaining on forums, and to see if there's a fix. Not sure why other people aren't doing the same?

You might want to read the Anandtech Review.

I have, I don't think that precludes the possibility of a firmware fix that will at least partially alleviate the issues.

It's a good review.

The review says that basically the hardware is sound. That in terms of reception the iPhone4 is a better device *with* its external antenna. But the design makes is more adversely affected by touch. This adverse effect is mitigated by a case.

Personally I make a good third of my calls from my car over Bluetooth. And another third of my calls using the headset that comes with the phone.

I tried out the phone in the Apple store, and I didn't find the death grip all that comfortable or natural.

So, having worried about the phone, I finally concluded that for me, this is a non issue.

If, after reading this review, you don't agree, then I would not buy the phone.

I am not convinced a software fix is possible. But, I would not be surprised if the White Phones show up with an invisible non-conductive coating on the antenna.

I'm getting pretty sick of this to be honest. Whilst I understand why, o2 still won't allow any reservations of an iPhone. It's really annoying because whenever they seem to predict any phones coming in I'm always at work and on my days off NOTHING, not one iPhone in stock anywhere!

Whatever happened to "Yes we'll reserve one until xxo' clock and if you don't get it by then we'll sell it".

Not hard is it? they wont lose sales!

Still apparently patience is a virtue...

Oh and the women at o2 said "we've just had an inbox stating that we'll have some in the next few days, if not Monday. Keep checking our website" for what thats worth!

AArrrgghh I want to go home. Am stuck in work with no one at home to accept the parcel and I wont be going home until tomorrow morning as am out with friends tonight! Now I know the phone coming I'm itching to get my hands on it!! :(

Last Thursday morning I ordered an iPhone 4 32gb through O2 over the phone. Later in the day, I did a bit of research and (correct me if this is wrong) found that the Vodafone 3G network is superior to that of O2. Is this due to the sheer amount of people on O2 using iPhones and other smart phones. I also check the coverage of Vodafone on their website in the places that I spend most of my time, and found that there was coverage everywhere where in one particular place on O2, I get nothing. I phoned Voda and ordered a phone through them and phoned O2 to cancel the order with them. Voda said that they had just run out of stock and didn't know when they would be getting any more phones in, and O2 said that it was too late to cancel the order as it was in the process of being dispatched.

The O2 phone arrived on Saturday morning, and seeing as though I had read that it might be the middle of July until anyone got any more stock in, the temptation was too great and I opened the O2 iPhone. Obviously absolutely loving it, I phoned Voda (on my new iPhone) and said I wanted to cancel my order. The guy in the call centre said that no order had even been placed (even though I had given them my account details) and that I was just on a list. I double checked with him and he confirmed that there was no order there to cancel.

I get home last night and there is a package there for me. Not knowing what it was, I opened it and it was a new 32gb iPhone sent by Vodafone. I spoke to O2 and they said I have 14 days to send the phone back if I want to. What should I do? It would take 5 or so days for them to receive the phone and give me my PAC code so I can use my number on the Voda sim, but with this being the next 2 years, I'd want to make sure I'm getting the best out of it and 5 days with a different number isn't really a big deal. Also bearing in mind that you get double the data with Vodafone.

Sorry for a stupidly long post for a simple question - O2 or Vodafone......

o2 must have more stock in now or something. I phoned 2302 from my iPhone just before 9 and upgraded this morning. Just logged on to my email to see that I was sent a DHL tracking number at 1020. Nice, so I should have it tomorrow!

So rather than go into a shop, you just ordered over the phone and your getting one in a few days?

my current iphone contract ends in a few days and I want to upgrade, you reckon I should just phone them?

cheers

seems like the easiest and quickest way to get one at the moment. Not sure how much your o2 priority ranking comes into it though. I rang from my handset, so she already had my details and immediately just offered me the upgrade.

Cheers, I rang up and the same happened to me. All ordered in 5 mins and DHL'd to me in the next 1-2 days.

allot easier than sitting wait for a store to get them in.

Go with the one that you think will suit you best, it's pretty pointless not having signal in the places that you spend most of your time. A point of note however, vodafone doesn't have visual voicemail or allow you to unlock your iphone.

Man you're lucky. I've called five times now and every single time I get the same "we're out of stock" crap. I'm on a £45 contract which ends very soon, why can't I upgrade? :(

I called them again and managed to get through to a very wonderful rep called Laura who sorted it out for me. Doubt I'll get it tomorrow but it beats going to the O2 store only to be told that they didn't get a shipment - although they're going to now most likely get a shipment tomorrow!

Still though, how frustrating must it be to be a regional manager for O2, or Vodafone etc at the moment? I know the people in my local O2 store and they do their jobs very well but at the moment the ambiguity regarding shipments makes them look very stupid. My close friend working there says he has lost count of the amount of times he has had to say "I honestly don't know when we're getting new iPhones" to a customer, followed by "The manager doesn't know either." Poor phones sale people :(

Anyone have any news on Applestore stocks in London? I know there is a long waiting list, but with new shipments promised at O2, I though they may have more in.
