Please note, purchases on O2 are available for upgrades only and your new phone will be delivered to you within 72 hours. Please see below for your exclusive preview of stores which will have stock from tomorrow. You'll need to be quick as limited stock will be available

Hi, can you post which stores will have stock?

thanks

Hello!!

I'm a bit of a noob to Android, so I hope my questions won't seem too unenlightened ;-)

I'm looking to upgrade from my iPhone 3G, but having become sick and tired of Apple's 'locked down, let's make everything look exactly the same' approach, I'd like to move to something a bit more interesting and customisable.

Having done some research, it seems as though the main contenders (Motorola Droid X, HTC Evo) probably won't make it to the UK (please correct me if I'm wrong), and so I was wondering whether there were any alternatives that could match the new iPhone spec?

BTW: I really don't mind about front-facing cameras and video chat functionality; seems kind of useless for day-to-day activities

Any help would be appreciated :)

the HTC Desire is probably the best phone that isn't the iPhone :) but tbh it only costs a tiny bit more for the iPhone, its worth it. the iPhone is a more well rounded finished off product rather than others tbh :)

Bugger, just rang Apple aftersales to ask about returning my iPhone in the hope of being offered a free bumper as seems to have been the norm for a lot of other people. No luck though, she just asked me why I wanted to return it and when I explained (mentioning 'holding the edge in my hand' as many times as I could) she just set up the return for me :(

I did wonder if it was following Apple's announcement today that a software fix was coming out, but when I asked her if anything was on the cards to fix this issue she just told me that she knew a lot of people were having problems, but she didn't know if anything was going to be done to fix it.

I'll cancel the return next week as I do still want the phone; it just irks me that I'm going to have to fork out £25 on a bumper to use it properly

you're gonna whack me for saying this but... I managed to get a free bumper and it was a white one, came in 1 working day after ringing up. When did you ring

To those who ordered from O2 - did your DHL tracking number work instantly, or did it take a while to get registered?

Thanks

My free bumper is out for delivery on the UPS tracker. I popped out quickly and spotted a UPS van at KFC.. I wonder if delivery guy is stopping for a quick snack. If I wasn't in UPS will leave a note saying they didn't manage to deliver right? And will it come up in the tracker page to say delivery was unsuccessful? I know I sound a bit anal over the delivery of a bumper but seriously, my temp case is so fugly it makes me wanna vom.

yey for us free bumper peeps :D and regarding UPS, yeah it comes as unsuccessful and they will try again the next day :)

So can I get a vote from the UK Iphone4 users?

Are you getting signal problems and is it a good idea to still buy the phone??

I am having the signal issue but I got a free white bumper the next working day from ringing up :) it is an awesome phone though! :D

how do i find out what delivery company is sending my iphone so i can goto their site and track my order, it doesnt tell me on the apple site!

also what number or what part of a set of numbers do i use?

after you get your dispatch email, log on to your apple account and it will show you :)

I ordered my i4 32 GB yesterday at about 12.30-1.15 from O2 online. Got a succession of emails (ordered Applecare as well), got the 'sent' text about 3 hrs later & the DHL tracking info was on their website last night, out for delivery Peterborough 8.15 this morning & finally got it 11.30.
Lovely bit of kit (feels very different to my old iPhone) & no signal problems or changes no matter how I hold it. Switched to O2 originally 'cos I use my phone for business & got a crap signal at home with a Sony Xperia on Orange-more to do with the Xperia than Orange BUT no probs with O2 here.
Hope that helps-know what a pain it is waiting for the info & delivery.

Shocked that you don't have the signal issues.. I'm in Peterborough and on O2, myself and at least 5 others all have the issue.

It took a while for me but only few hours. I think DHL's site wont update during weekend but I am not sure.

truth be told i wouldn't be surprised if they did, i trust these emails and texts more than the incompetent fools that work in phone stores these days:)

Fair enough mate........
But to be honest apple messed up things big time with the iphone4.
They never learn from their mistakes....I still remember what happen with the iphone 3g when it was launched....Horrible :(
So if anybody has news with network carrier orange don't be shy to let me know :)

To be honest I think it's planned. Shops selling out and long delays between restocks keep Apple and the iPhone4 in the news. Everything else apple does is planned to within an inch of it's life. Don't you think this is too?

Hi,

A while back some one posted a link to some really nice iPhone 4 slip cases. I can't find it again. If the person who posted it is still on here can u put the link up again?

Thanks

I managed to bag a 32gb from the O2 store in the White Rose shopping center in Yorkshire today. Was very lucky. checked O2 site at 11am, and work about 10 minute drive from there. Already arranged with my manager at work to get the hell out of dodge if they got stock, and was there for around 11:15. Was about 50th in the queue I'd wager, seems like they had a reasonable amount of units, perhaps 100-ish. An O2 guy, looking scarily like Vic Mackey from the Shield was noting down what people want, and just as I got mine, they announced they'd assigned all stock. At that point, there must have been around 50-ish people left in the queue.

Heard one dudes odd story about him queuing the day before, as he was told they had stock (obviously they didn't), and he got pushed to the front of the queue. I remember him because his son appeared to have bright yellow womens sandles on... :p

Fair play to O2, they were efficient, brought us drinks, and my order was processed super quickly. Total Q time for me was 2 Hours 20 Mins.

Guess it's another week for stock in Leeds at O2, but as discussed in the forum, the Carphone Warehouse is supposed to get some units tomorrow.

Damn you UPS *shakes fist*

Checked at 6pm and apparently they forgot to take the package with them from the depot. So I'm probably going to get my "goodwill gesture" bumper on Monday. I'm impatient and I'm not sure how much longer my beautiful phone can cope with this heinous case.

True good point...I'll give you the benefit of a doubt here cause that sounds like a good reason for apple to du such a thing..........
But I also hear that orange is delaying the iphone 4 orders just because one person complaint about the atenna problem...so apple is apperantly cheking the devices. Hopefully they arive soon cause I need one so badly.....:(
Also phoned them up again like 5 hours ago and they said that it's not their fault that the iphones have been delayed.....So I have no idea what to believe in now...

The only thing you can do is wait! Unfortunately.

does anyone know when regent street ran out, ive been on priority list since sunday and i know apparently there are 1000 people on it so i was wondering how many shipments dey will need before i can pick one up.

also do you know which iphone is in more demand 16 or 32, because i really want a 32GB and hope that doesn't keep running out of stock, apple is the only place i can get the iphone from because i want the 3 tariff

Damn those Tesco bastards!!!!

I went into the Edinburgh store and was told "we've ran out of stock just now but if you give us your contact details we'll give you a call when we get more in".....to which I obliged.

Found out later that my friend went into the store and got served straight away and has the iphone 4 on 12 month contract at £20 a month.:mad::mad::mad:

Happy for him but ragin for me.. I sold my 3gs and I'm puting up with a motorola razr just now. IT IS HELL!!!!!!!!!
