It's all my fault! I've used 2.3GB in two months. That's a bit scary considering all I do is a bit of web browsing, have e-mail set to push, use Google maps a bit, and update the odd app or two.

I don't download large files, illegally tether, use the YouTube app or streaming radio.

Apple does their utmost to sell us these devices, and now the networks are seemingly forcing us not to use them. Just glad I have 22 months remaining on my 'unlimited data' contract!

I totally agree that they are all hedging their bets, seeing what sort of reaction iPhone 4 has had and assessing what is the max profit they can get otherwise they would have released their prices on Monday night.

Quick question and I would really appreciate some advice from the board. I had my iphone stolen around 4 weeks ago. It was a 3gs. Now my insurance company paid out on it to the tune of £460. Have no idea why they couldn't replace it with another, but anyway.

Now I have 15 months left of my contract with 02. That means that if I were to sign up to their "deal" I would have to pay around £300 and sign up to a new contract.

Do you guys and gals think it would be best not to do that and simply buy a brand new iPhone 4 and continue with my old contract? It means I will be able to upgrade in August 2011. I think this would be the best idea, but would appreciate any thoughts.

Yeah defo buy iPhone 4 on pay as you go then next year you can upgrade to iPhone 5.

I'm rolling at the moment, because my contact technically ended last month. It has unlimited data, and I use quite a lot. I'm like you, I used 2GB in the last 3 months just by browsing and checking email etc. Sometimes watching Youtube but not very often. Now, my contract isn't as good a deal as the new ones. I pay quite a lot for what I don't need (too many minutes for example). So it makes financial sense to go for one of these new options that are cheaper. But I like my unlimited data. So does anyone know if I can renew my current contract that has just ended, and keep the same deal rather than take up one of the new ones?

And another thing about O2...

Did you know that on the newer contracts (including the one I signed 2 months ago) you get charged for MMS messaging? It used to just use 4 SMS messages from your allowance.

Wassup guys, got a couple of quick questions about the iPhone 4 ;)

If I buy it on PAYG, how would I go about putting my contract SIM in it? Cut it myself?

Also, does anyone know just how scratch resistant the screen is? And I also with think it will attract fingerprints like a b**ch :p

Really? Is that true?! O2 are so sneaky. Really tired of their lack of respect for their customers.

Moving to Vodafone when my contract expires.

Why do I have this sinking feeling all the other networks are going to follow O2.

They will! o2 have what I consider one of the best deals on the current model.

No other offer Visual Voicemail (i think!) which i love.

Can't see the others offering much different.

Even though I get upgrades every 12 months with o2 I will also be moving to Voda for iphone 4.

I spend in excess of £200 a month with o2 and have for many years. (2 contracts, 3 pay as you go for my kids and now ipad). They wouldn't even consider giving me a decent deal. have completely lost respect for them.

When I threatened to leave them for another network their reply was, "thats your choice".

Bye o2 hello Vodafone. :):)

O2 posted in response to a comment on their blog that if you want to renew/upgrade your contract then you have to go onto the new tariffs.

Your best bet is probably to get a PAYG iPhone and see if you can get on one of the old iPhone Simplicity contracts with unlimited data why you still can.

Yes, it's true.

My 3G contract expired in January. I was on the 18 month, £35pm contract. In April I signed up a new 24 month, £35pm contract with an iPhone 3GS which the O2 store told me was exactly the same contract I'd been on originally.

Then I got my first month's bill and realised I was being charged for sending MMSs. When I asked O2 about it, they said that was now standard and couldn't be amended.

i'm going to get one on my current account with o2. do not care I want this bad boy.

However, I do not like the fact that o2 have such shoddy plans.

Another question what is the price of the actual headset going to be? They've not listed it on there web site.

Anyone help with this? (I've not read through the thread as they're is over 1k posts!)

I think it might be worth a try speaking to a supervisor/manager in the Retention Department you might get a better answer. My boss has done this a few times and they always want to keep customers like yourself. Good luck.

Quick answer for ya... no one knows anything about the pricing

I wish, have been waiting for a "callback" from a manager since yesterday evening, 24 hours so far and nothing. doubt I will get the call either. Oh well. :):)

From the sound of it, I am going to stick with my current O2 contract (1 year into a 2 year contract), mainy because of the following:

Current Contract_________________New Contracts

Unlimited Internet________________Capped Internet
Free MMS_______________________MMS not free
TXTs from abroad, free____________TXTs from abroad, not free

Might buy an iPhone 4 on PAYG, might not. All depends on the price, but certainly not going to "upgrade" to one of these new contracts.

Ah, sorry to hear that. Keep at them!! we did this recently with BA (over the strike, refund etc) finally the caved.

500MB limit

I am leaving O2 as soon as I can.
They have STILL not enabled 3G or EDGE in my area. I only get GPRS.

I expect they are using people in my area in their "people do not use more than 500MB" excuse.

Well I am not surprised. I spent 5 hours and 18 minutes online today and managed to use 10.0MB.

They are useless.

P.S. excellent thread lets keep it going. :)

Why is everyone saying they will move from 02 to Vodafone? Vodafone haven't even announced their tariffs yet, it maybe worse then 02's and lets also consider the fact that Orange, T-Mobile, 3, and lets not yet rule out Virgin will be offering the iPhone 4. All of them could offer better or worse tariffs then 02.
