Could someone provide a link to the Apple Chat thing for the iPhone? I need to talk to one of their online helpers about something.

Do people going for monthly (including myself already on monthly and due an upgrade) get to preorder on the 15th? Or is that just for people buying the phone outright? Would be nice to reserve a phone incase they sell out.
Same here, especially as I'm going to be out of the country on the 24th I'm probably going to cancel my contract and get a new one with whoever look to be the best. As o2 have already said, apple set the price so they offer new customers the exact same deal as old, upgrading customers.

"Staying unlimited

All the tariffs still come with unlimited Wi-Fi, and all 3G data packages for new and upgrading customers will be unlimited until 1 October, after which the new limits will come into force.

After this point, users will get text messages letting them know when they are reaching their limits, offering them the chance to get an additional data bolt on of 500MB for £5 or 1GB for £10.

However, if you're happy as you are on an existing O2 deal with unlimited data, O2 says it will let you stay on that plan as long as you like, including those that sign up before 24 June.

what to make of this ?

I've just phoned and got the same story. Why would existing customer take out the new tariff when they can stay on the old/current one? I'm now more confused.

I know this is from there 3G s tariff but this looks ideal for me.

Make that £35 into £30 and I'm in!

No year of free internet on O2 PAYG anymore? Surely if you have to top up £10 a month just to get 500MB it's better to go on pay monthly anyway? Which, I assume, is what the greedy bastards want you to do.

I'll see what deals the other networks come out with then, and keep my fingers crossed they're a damn lot better than O2's.

Can someone who better understands these things than me please convert 240,344 Kb into Gb (or Mb) for me please?

I have just today had my bill for the 8th May- 8th June go online and the figure above is how much data I have used in that time period according to that bill.

Also I have used 2hrs 55 mins. I make this 175 mins?
(Sorry my maths is useless when i've just come off night shifts).

Thanks all.

It's 240.344 MB, or 0.240 GB.

Whatever I'm getting, it's not 500MB on PAYG @ £10/pm O2 WEB & WIFI - iPhone ONLY

Has anyone ever come across one of these mythical o2 wireless hotspots?

I think Mcdonalds has BT Openzone, is that the same thing?

That still dosen't explain why they're not giving that 500MB a month free to PAYG customers for the first year anymore.
probably their way of attracting people off payg and onto paymonthly

I've only ever seen BT Openzone ones which give you access if you login with O2 number or something (I don't have O2 or use openzone so don't know lol)

Well I've just spent some time looking at the coverage plans on all the websites and O2 comes out the best for all the areas I go to. Therefore looking at the tarrifs I quite like the idea of the 12 month simplicity tarriff however will need to know how much the phone is going to be on PAYG as I'm not sure I'll have a spare £400/500 laying around!!

Therefore I'll probably have to go for the £30 p/m for 18 month tarriff and hope iphone 5 isn't going to be that great an upgrade!! lol

I've noticed, as I suspect you all have, that O2 are releasing one piece of information today so I suspect they'll release pricing tomorrow. I do hope they do pre-orders for upgrades online as I'm so keen to get the phone on the 24th!!

I accidently found a BTopenzone in Norwich yesterday afternoon, appearing to come from a phone box?!, which wanted me to put my number in but was taking ages to register and log on so cancelled out and used 3g!

Wifi in McDonalds is powered by the Cloud (around here anyway) and is free for everyone. I came across a Cloud access point in Manchester Airport, tried to use it with my iPhone 12 month web and wifi bolt on but it spat some error message out and I couldn't use it. First opportunity to use it and it wouldn't let me! hideous.

Wow, some people talk about paying hundreds on top of continuing a lengthy commitment of £35-65 just to get a newer iPhone...
