Still waiting for Tesco to get some stock in so i can buy mine :( any updated news from them ?

Rang a store in Loughborough tonight and they said about 2 weeks for next delivery. Have no idea whether delivery dates differ between stores. Am resigned to the wait now.:( The nice young man did ad me to te list tho :)

I don't live in the UK but I would like to purchase an iphone 4 as a gift for a family member.

does the apple online store (UK) allow me to use my non UK credit card but allow me to ship the phone to my family in London?

The billing and shipping addresses would be different but the shipping address would be located within the UK so this should be ok. Right?

No, as far as I know, you will need a UK Credit Card

Yes i have been on the list for a while but would of thought with the Iphone 4 been out for a while now that they would be easier to get a hold of but clearly not.

i dont think so, i booked mine with my indian credit card will ship on 27th july.

Ordered my 32gb iPhone 4 on the 24th of June, Estimated shipment is 14th July yet it still says 'not yet shipped'. Estimated delivery is 15th or 16th, so will it get all the way from japan in time!? Confused!

I did mine on regent St on Monday, however I am an Aussie and the guy in the store said that yes, outright full retail iphone 4's do have an international warranty - he specifically said the 3GS does not :/ mmm

To give you an idea, I ordered mine on 20th July at 1617. It shipped on 6th July and my TNT tracking is as follows:

10 Jul 2010 07:02:55 Alton Shipment Received At Destination Depot.
08 Jul 2010 11:12:44 Arnhem Hub Shipment In Transit.
07 Jul 2010 09:29:07 Hong Kong Shipment In Transit.
07 Jul 2010 05:01:48 Hong Kong Shipment Received At Transit Point.
07 Jul 2010 04:10:27 Hong Kong Shipment Received At Transit Point.
07 Jul 2010 01:23:00 SZ1 Shipment In Transit.
07 Jul 2010 00:45:11 Shenzhen Shipment In Transit.

I called TNT yesterday and asked why it was stuck in Arnhem and had been for 30 hrs (at the time of my call). Checked this morning and it looks like it is now in Alton. Although, I am not sure how they managed to skip customs?! I'm going to call TNT in a bit & explain that I won't be in on Monday, which I assume is when they will attempt delivery, so I want to pick it up from the depot today. I hope they're not idiots and say I can't do that! I would be saving them a journey!

If your one is coming from China like mine then it seems sensible to allow up to 7 days from the date of shipping.

Just out of interest are you checking your order status on the UK Apple site or the US one? The US one seems to have more up to date info, so give it go.... HTH :)

Out of interest, do you know if the Apple stores can do VAT refunds for people travelling (Kiwi here)? Only in UK for a few days and iPhone 4 probably worth it if I can buy at ex-VAT.

Why would they do that? It's already only 1040 AUD for the iphone 4 now in the UK, I sincerely doubt we are elligable to take 17% more off the price.
It will very likely be 1040 AUD anyhow.

Why would they do that?
Ummm, because it's a pretty standard scheme in most countries and certainly in the UK? Tax free purchasing, where the store fills out a form for you and you show it at Heathrow on the way out and they refund your VAT.
No worries, you obviously didn't notice, just checking.

Back of the net!!

Just called TNT and asked if I can pick up iPhone 4 from Alton depot, lady said she would check with them but it was unlikely as they load it onto the van and lock it for the weekend. Put me on hold, whilst I waited for what I thought was going to be the inevitable "sorry, you'll have to wait for delivery"......she came back on the line and said "that's absolutely fine"!!

For anyone tracking their delivery on TNT, if it has arrived at your local hub then give them a call. They won't deliver it on the weekend but may well let you pick it up.

Right I'm off......:D

That would be lovely if it were possible, where can I find more info and if this is a legal right I have or something?
Or do some companies simply not allow it? Would almost definitely buy one here if that's the case.

In the UK the store needs to offer the service. Basically they create the official form for you at time of purchase and then you can go to a special refund desk at Heathrow for the refund. Places like Selfridges even do all the refunding themselves (down in the basement).

Just not sure if Apple Retail offers the service - have heard varying accounts, hopefully someone here can answer for us. :)

yeah checking on the US store, and is still says not shipped! Waiting to speak to apple now. Hopefully they can explain! What date did yours say 'shipped by'?

Just got off the phone with Apple, and apparantly those orders (like mine) with a shorter delivery time - 2 days - won't be processed all the way from China. Basically they just get a big batch to the UK, then deliver from there. So rather then seeing tracking info from all around the world, we'll just see it in the UK. Hope this makes sense!

I can confirm you can get the VAT refund form if purchased from store ONLY. No online order is eligible for VAT refund ever.
I bought the 32GB from store and asked for the form when paid.

It says price 599 . VAT 89.21, Admin charge 28.21 , Net refund 61.00

So you will be able to get 61 back on your card or 58 if you want cash at Heathrow. Cash is not available in Manchester/Newcastle etc.

Hope this helps
