In Central London go to Tottenham Court road. It's like the street for gadgets. Bound to be some sim free there for sale but be prepared to pay way over the odds.

dude i'm actually staying near that area,do you recommend any stores over there? are they reliable?

There's quite a few stores there that all sell mainly gadgets. I can't actually recommend you a particular store as whenever I'm there I just go there browsing.

Like I said, just be prepared to pay over the odds for one.

I dont know if this has been answered before but someone enlighten me here? I did an extensive search and I am getting conflicting results.

Basically I am on a £45 unlimited iphone tariff which expires on November 2010. If I dont renew and just let it keep rolling over, do I get to keep the unlimited data? or will O2 somehow change my contract or plan or something?

Because if this is the case I would rather buy a sim-free iphone and keep my existing plan...

Thanks

You should be able to keep your Unlimited Data as long as you don't change your tariff.

I've got my iPhone 4 ordered from three. It's due to be delivered 28/07/10. I put the pre order in on the day that three uk announced it, and it took til yesterday for them to get round to contacting me about it, and I'm existing three customer. God knows how long other people will have to wait

Regent Street priority list

Just passing thoughts... I read the earlier post stating 9,000 names on the priority list, and realised it's probably more than that.

Seeing as Apple are only selling the iPhone unlocked in a few countries, the UK and France I think, a lot of foreign tourists will pop into the easiest Apple store to get an unlocked iPhone in the UK. Of course, that'd be the one on Regent Street.

This could work both ways... a lot of people won't be able to pick up their reservation as they'll have left the country so the list could shorten quite quickly, but it also means the Regent Street store is always going to have the largest priority list by a long way.

So, if you're still after an unlocked iPhone and are not on any priority list, go to the other Apple stores to put your name down, and although there's no guarantee you'll get one quicker, I'm sure the list will be smaller in the stores harder to get to for visitors.

Of course, I say this as one of those 9,000 names waiting for my unlocked iPhone and I'm now just waiting patiently for that email to pop up (undoubtedly when I'm out of the country on holiday!).

I've been holding out for a few weeks but really want iPhone 4 now. I haven't been able to afford it but I envisage by middle to end of august I will be able to afford it. I want the white one though so hoping that will be out then. I'm buying the phone though, I have still got a while to run on my contract with o2. Im going to sell my 3GS to one of those websites to pay for the bulk of it, should get £200-£230 for it and I'll put the rest. I'll probably order online, is it about 3 weeks for delivery at the moment? I can't wait! After that, just need a new Mac to complete my Mac family. :) :apple:

Me also waiting for the email to come.

Loads of iPhone 4!!!

Been following this forum for some weeks but personally have been waiting to get one from Tescos when back in the UK. I am cuurrent in France for work and have been amazed that you can get the iPhone 4 in most supermarkets, just sittingon the shelves for 699 euro which is very comparable the the UK PAYG pricing... Of course these are locked but with equivalent operatorsin the UK, SFP - Vodafone etc...

K im new to iphones, how do you set the volume buttons to change the volume of apps only, i dont want to change the ringer volume...

I thought phones were sold unlocked in France?

No they are sold sim locked, but in France the network 'must" unlock the handset at anytime when the customer request it. However the network can and will charge for this, unless its towards the end of the contract.

Alex

With the launch of iPhone 4, they are sold officially unlocked in the Apple Store in France.

when do the colourd bumpers go on sale in the apple stores (brick stores)?

3 weeks shipping time on the online store?! :( i want a green n blue one lol)

Word of warning; if you are ordering an iPhone 4 and a bumper, maybe don't order them on the same account. As apple will wait until BOTH items are in stock before they ship them out together, to save on postage costs. So they may have your iPhone in hand, and then wait 3 weeks before shipping it because your bumper isn't in stock. I've heard this happen to someone, I don't know if it's normal practice...

I went in to a three store today to ask when would begin selling iphone4's on contract and they told me not till September.

Any one else know anything of this?

Ok, my 3 micro-SIMs are with me. Unimpressed right now, I can't actually find the PAYG details, i.e tariff breakdown. I assume it's 3Pay- then this. Not very impressive prices.
