They don't seem competitive at all especially with only 24 month contracts.
However, the flexible boosters you add might make it more bearable for some.

I presume they are the same monthly flexible boosters currently available ie

Unlimited Texts; Unlimited Internet; Unlimited Landline Talk; Unlimited T-Mobile Talk; Euro Talk & Text; Europe & Australasia Talk; USA & Canada Talk

I'm eligible for an upgrade right now but I'm hearing contradictory things about the F&F discount on the iphones, so I'm waiting till they actually get stock and start selling it. In the meantime I'm getting a further £10 discount for 12 months or until I choose my upgrade (whichever comes first)

With the F&F and further £10 discount I'm tempted just to keep it rolling and get a sim free ip4 from Apple as I like my flext 35 with web n walk plus!

The monthly boosters might make the difference, does anyone know if u can pay a little extra and get two of them because unlimited TXT and unlimited Data would be very appealing to me.

For now I'm just going to wait in "no-man-land" while T-Mobile get things in motion, I just hope they are good to their word and cut us existing customers a deal! But if not then it might be time to move....

With the F&F its worth waiting just to see what they decide to do, because I don't mind paying that little bit extra if I get to keep my F&F discount,

Also how did you manage to get an extra £10 on to of your F&F, They wouldn't let me do it last time I asked

Going by the current standard prices of £419 £499 and £599;
It basically costs an extra £80 for double the storage, double (quadruple?) display, gyro and communication enhancements, 2x and better cameras (plus flash), faster processor and RAM, and better battery life.
Only trade off AFAIK is possible signal flakiness, possible camera colour issue, and if you like the shape / construction.

Personally, I have no trouble choosing between the generations, even if I would have liked a capacity bump.
I guess if you could get the equivalent capacity for half the price, then it's worth considering.

As a stopgap for the i5? Who's to know if that will be an incremental upgrade, while you suffer for a year or more with a slow(er), less supported model (by apps) which will lose it's value quicker if you were to resell it.

O2 it is then. Couldn't spare the odd couple of k for a server? You'd think Apple would have insisted on full support for all functions when they provided it to the other networks.

Just download the Hullomail app. Does the exact same thing as visual voicemail, on any network.

Odd Morning so far. Checked the TNT tracking a great deal this morning. No movement from last night (still in Northampton). I had two meetings to go out to first thing. Checked again at 9.30am and it had just gone out for delivery from Croydon (no updates in between). Hooray!! The only problem was I was at least an hour from the delivery address by then. Anyway I have made it back and luckily there is no orange "You were out" card. Hopefully no phantom delivery today.

Fingers crossed it will be here shortly. Any news on your one JezzaA?

For the £10 discount I didn't specifically ask for it, I just rang 150 and navigated to upgrades, then enquired about a release date for the iphone as that was the only phone I was interested in. They couldn't give me any more info than what we already know so I said would it be best to wait and see rather than getting my PAC code. At this point they offered me the £10 discount while I wait to upgrade.

They send a text saying your monthly discount has been added to your account and will expire in 12 months or earlier if you upgrade to a new phone.

I assume you have to be in the last month of your contract for them to offer this. I was eligible for an upgrade last month as my contract ends this month.

btw I didn't mention anything about being on F&F but I presume they can see that on their accounts screen anyway - not sure if this would have a bearing on being offered a discount or not.

This is what my order tracking currently looks like:

Two things, the "In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule 12 Jul 2010" has been there since the 7th, even though it shows as the 12th. My estimated delivery also shows as the 20th. There has been no changes since it shipped on the 7th.

I this normal?

Hopefully we can sort this out for you. I am guessing that you may have ordered more than just the iPhone. If you have then they ship the iPhone to a hub in europe where it is joined by the other item(s). It is then shipped by a second carrier to you. Sometimes the carriers are the same I think.

It might be worth trying the "Our delivery reference number" in a few shipping companies (TNT and Fedex). They usually have an option to tick the suppliers reference number instead of the carriers tracking number. This may give some results as to where the order currently is.

I hope this helps. If I have got this wrong then I am sure someone else will chip in.

I've never done it like that before, I put in my apple ID email and password for an Aussie account.
No email yet, however I am not sure, should I be seeing something on my account properties page on the apple store or is that only if I actually full order one online ?

You are in the same position as me except my order was shipped on the 6th July. I had accessories included as well which, as stated above, need to be merged before being sent on as one package. I spoke to Apple a moment ago and they said the items were all in the UK as of today and I should expect to receive them tomorrow. Tracking number will become available once local courier is appointed which for me I guess will be this evening.

well im in the same boat, and im guessing our phones are together, my delivery est is 22 july i ordered on the 24th june... and only have the phone coming

if you go on the usa site there is a tracking number at the top, the company is called kuehne and nagel and they have taken my phone to luxenuberg in belgium, (it started in hong kong, then taiwan), now the status is Docs Rel./Handed over to 3rd Party.. so im hoping they have passed it onto a 3rd part delivery company and its in the uk as that status was a couple of days ago. but still no uk tracking number.. im hoping it arrives 15/16th like the original est said..

My two week cooling off period expires in a few days and in a week I've already hit 150mb. This might just be me using it more as I'm liking the phone so much but I just don't feel comfortable with the O2 500mb allowance. Last I seen was 2nd half of July. I have until 24 July for early upgrade offer on O2 and finally went to shop last week for a play of the iP4 - was going to hold out for white but think I may just go for black as it is really smart and I do prefer black frames around TV screens - would never buy a silver or white TV! Hoping I can get hold of one between 18 and 24 July as after 18th my early upgrade fee drops by £20! Actually was going to wait until December when contract ends but was blown away by the screen and camera

I got a white 3GS but you would never know since it lives in a black case!

I'm still waiting to buy a 16gb from Apple from one of their london stores (white city)...

I put my name down to buy one instore when they get some new stock...but this was over 2 weeks ago. I did actually have one reserved on launch day, but couldn't justify waiting inline for hours on end, so didn't go in.

I phoned them up and they were pretty unhelpful and just told me to wait for an email (but i've had no correspondence since i got the original email).

does anyone have any idea when i'll be able to get one? or has anyone done the same thing and managed to go in and pick one up?

i only want to get one from apple so i can be sure that it's unlocked...

anyone got any thoughts on this?

Thanks! After checking the U.S apple.com it does actually show as "Merge in Transit GB," so that must be it! Unfortunately the delivery reference number doesn't seem to be showing anything from any of the major delivery networks. Hopefully their EU distribution center isn't that far away, my last few orders over the years all seem to have come from Ireland.

Mine was an online purchase. I don't believe retail priority lists offer shipment tracking from what i've read on here.

I already got my iphone 4 but I was at my cousin house for two days in newcastle. Well we went to the apple store and he was able to pick the last one in store.....Lucky....He wasn't on the priorty list which was kinda weird. BUt he was able to get hold of one. I asked them when they are getting another shipment because I also wanted another iphone 4 unlocked and they said that it could arrive anytime this week. So conclusion:
They might have got new stock or not. But the chances are high as my cousin was weirdly able to get one..........So just try your luck...

People who are still waiting on 'lists' at Apple stores? .. wouldn't it be a good idea to order from the Apple website which is showing 3 week delivery and then if you have the good fortune to get one on the 'priority list' you can cancel the online order? .. At least that way you know you won't be waiting more than 3 weeks?!?!

I rather like the black iphone 4 because you can actually see the sensor. On the iphone 4 black you don't see the sensor.
