Hmmmmm, wonder what's next then!? I guess due to the fact that now everyone has had the iPhone 4 a while they will hope people will percevier (prob spelt wrong) with this problem.

Reception is definatly showing really poor at the moment, but everything else about the phone and that screen make me noe want to go back to my 3G. Very surpriised an update hasn't been released just yet.

Am guessing they don't want to try pull wool over our eyes and make it display more bars than you actually have and realise it's a hardware fault so is proving a little trickier to come up with a soloution. In the meantime as everyone waits, more iPhones are being sold.

It's gone a bit quite on the Uk thread.

I have an Apple Store order (due to be delivered by 15th July). It is currently stuck in Arnhem, as it has been since Friday morning. I am not getting any sense out of TNT. I suspect they are delaying deliver until the 15th which is outrageous behaviour in my opinion.

Any one else in a similar situation?

Booya!

Placed order on-line on 28th June
Expected to ship by 19th July
Delivery by 21st July

Today, 12th July it has shipped!

My advice for iPhone users would be to use the unlimited data goody bags, once the 1st October free PAYG internet deal passes.

-snip-

i completely misread your post. Thought you meant use the goodybags untill october... *facepalm*

Not sure if this has been posted yet but here are the T-Mobile tariffs for anyone that wanted to know them, personally I am very disappointed and come Monday I will be requesting my PAC from and moving else where.

What do you guys think??

I gave up waiting for them to announce prices and stayed with O2. I would have happily moved back to t-mobile.

Their handset prices aren't that competitive.

Their loss, your gain I guess.
Tim

Can anyone confirm what networks have the visual voicemail enabled?
I know it's a minor thing, but it makes giffgaff less attractive than o2 for example, and I've obviously no idea if t-mobile (for example) will, support it.
Surely any network offering an iPhone specific option (or indeed selling the iPhone!) should have this enabled?

I'm not looking to rip anyone off, If I wanted a crazy price I would have put them on eBay lol

A fellow MacRumors member helped me get these, so I think It'd be fair to sell 'em on here for around RRP to someone that's desperate.

I'm open to offers.

I thought the Apple stores were getting these on a Day-2-Day basis now, making them available to walk-ins or are we still seeing large "Priority Lists" at the main outlets??

As far as I know, they're still taking names and making lists.

That was the case in Brighton late last week, anyhow.

I'm in Newcastle on the weekend so will enquire at their Apple Store and see what they have to say about it. Maybe its just me thinking that they are available everywhere because every man and his dog seem to own them where I live and no one has mentioned anything about them been hard to get hold of (contract or PAYG).

I have until August 5th to make up my mind about T-Mobiles prices and Tariffs but I don't see them been able to offer anything special and they are a bit behind some of the other networks in terms of what they are offering, even their £60 plan doesn't come with unlimited texts!!!

Mine is in Arnhem too but only arrived today, on Friday it just left hong kong.

When I spoke to TNT they said it should be in Northampton later on tonight or tomorrow morning. They couldn't provide me with flight details as it's against their policy.

They also fed me some BS that they don't fly stuff over the weekend.

Should get it on the 15th (Berkshire Area)

I'm on the list in the Regent Street store and I was passing today so, on the off chance of a miracle, I popped in.

I was told that they do have shipments coming in every day, but they didn't know how many in each shipment. They were suitably vague.

Needless to say, they did say that there were thousands upon thousands of people who had put their name on the priority list. I'm at 10 days now on the list and they told I would still have some time to go yet.

Is it really worth getting an Iphone 4 after all the problems or should i buy a 3GS and wait for the Iphone 5 ?

Need peoples opinions ASAP :)

To the guy who is coming to the Newcastle store, the last time I was in they had some available.

Anyway those T-mobile prices are very very poor, and I can't see why anyone would choose them over any other network, unless they were very very loyal to T-moible. Not only is the prices for the phones bad but what you get for your monthly fee is bad aswell. I would of expected better from them and since they were the last to announce their prices and by some time aswell you would of thought they would of came up with competitive prices.

I'm pretty sure that O2 will retain exclusivity on Visual Voicemail, mostly because other operators say it's too expensive to set it up on the network.

I think I have a problem.
I used my AppleID from Australia in the Regent St Retail Apple store- there's nothing waiting on my account? Should there be?

Do I need a UK address on my account or something? Should I see my reservation on the account and if so, where?

Going by the current standard prices of £419 £499 and £599;
It basically costs an extra £80 for double the storage, double (quadruple?) display, gyro and communication enhancements, 2x and better cameras (plus flash), faster processor and RAM, and better battery life.
Only trade off AFAIK is possible signal flakiness, possible camera colour issue, and if you like the shape / construction.

Personally, I have no trouble choosing between the generations, even if I would have liked a capacity bump.
I guess if you could get the equivalent capacity for half the price, then it's worth considering.

As a stopgap for the i5? Who's to know if that will be an incremental upgrade, while you suffer for a year or more with a slow(er), less supported model (by apps) which will lose it's value quicker if you were to resell it.

*sigh.*
O2 it is then. Couldn't spare the odd couple of k for a server? You'd think Apple would have insisted on full support for all functions when they provided it to the other networks.

Hi Jezzaa,

I think mine is with yours. It got to Northampton at around 10pm last night. I thought it might be out for delivery today but maybe not. It has not been updated since.

In my experience the problems have been overblown out of all proportion in the echo-chamber that is the internet.

The antenna issue will only affect you if you absolutely have to touch that corner of the phone while you're using it and you can't bear to put it in a case.

I've not seen any sign of the proximity sensor bug.

I don't expect a camera on a phone to be any more than a digital box-brownie, so needing workrounds to counter the green spot doesn't bother me.

I'll get flamed for this one, but I don't believe there is any problem with fragility. Just people who don't take care of their possessions.

Offset these against the additional speed, the gorgeous screen, the improved signal and the stunning good-looks. It's an easy choice for me.

They don't seem competitive at all especially with only 24 month contracts.
However, the flexible boosters you add might make it more bearable for some.

I presume they are the same monthly flexible boosters currently available ie

Unlimited Texts; Unlimited Internet; Unlimited Landline Talk; Unlimited T-Mobile Talk; Euro Talk & Text; Europe & Australasia Talk; USA & Canada Talk

I'm eligible for an upgrade right now but I'm hearing contradictory things about the F&F discount on the iphones, so I'm waiting till they actually get stock and start selling it. In the meantime I'm getting a further £10 discount for 12 months or until I choose my upgrade (whichever comes first) :)

With the F&F and further £10 discount I'm tempted just to keep it rolling and get a sim free ip4 from Apple as I like my flext 35 with web n walk plus!
