Btw, just to let you all know that I ordered via the Tesco's Website through Quidco and had QuidCo track at £8 odd :)

Any chance you could fetch me the 12 month £20 per month contract with a 16GB iPhone 4 link? I honestly can't find may way about that website. Thanks :)

Here you go mate http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.901-6860.aspx

Just ordered the 32gb £35 pm contract from tesco. Received confirmation email straight away. says it will be here 2moro.

Fingers crossed.

now do i just get my pac code from o2 and call Tesco ?? not sure what to do?

dm

I just used o2's contact page https://www.o2.co.uk/apps/help/help and asked for the PAC code and they sent it to me :)

Greatly appreciated!

Now a question for anyone. What do they do about a credit check if your ordering online? I pretty much know I won't pass the credit check because I don't have a solid source (I work at Pizza Hut) of income and i'm still using my VISA Electron account. Is it possible to order online using my account and then somehow start paying the contract with a different Debit Card?

P.s. This is the first ever time I will have owned a phone on a contract.

You can't pay for a phone contract via debit card AFAIK, but i'm not 100%, i just thought if the debit card was at £0 it can't go into an overdraft, whereas a credit card can?

edit: sorry, typo, i mean't to put you can't.

True, but I was just wondering if I can pay for the phone now using my VISA Electron account (and pay for the first month's bill) and then start paying the contract on my step dad's debit card because I won't be able to pass a credit check.

Just ordered 16gb £20 a month contract from Tesco, email confirmation sent to me. Does seem strange that Tesco Mobile have none but Tesco Direct do.

For those of you ordering online via Tesco's website, you're wasting your time. Contract orders have to be credit checked, and that can't be done online. So although you'll get a confirmation that the order has been received, it will subsequently be cancelled. You may (or may not) get a cancellation email, but the order will be cancelled regardless.

The *only* way of getting an IPhone 4 on a contract from Tesco is by phoning them directly. However, they're again out of stock.

I've been through this process already, and have spoken to several people at Tesco to confirm.

Just ordered a 16GB 20/month from that direct link and a few mins later they phoned up to cancel it.
They say it shouldn't be available from the website.

Why would they even put the contract on the website if they're unable to process it online?

How is the Tesco Mobile procedure different from any other UK network? You can place a contract order online with all the other networks and still have the credit check done.

Exactly lol and somebody on the HUKD has had their iphone confirmed as coming tomorrow after ordering online.

I have had no email or phone cancellation yet, maybe they are going to be very busy phone up people who have ordered. Don't they have to somehow honour your order even if it was a mistake on their site.

As I said, if you order online you'll receive a confirmation email which will state that your IPhone will arrive the next day. It won't. You'll either receiver a cancellation email, or if you're doubly unlucky, spend the day awaiting a delivery that never arrives.

Quite why Tesco don't allow online contract orders is something you'd have to ask them. But they don't, for now at least.

I'm even more mystified why, more than a day after all of this has come to light, Tesco still haven't amended their website. I know from talking to their sales staff that they're inundated with aggrieved purchasers, like me, who thought they'd successfully ordered an IPhone online.

For clarity, phone orders are fine if they have stock, which they don't (again).

Well it was "fixed" as it went from "add to basket" to "out of stock" but today went back to "add to basket.

Yes, it oscillates between showing stock is available and then unavailable. But that means nothing: they won't honour online orders. Believe me, I've tried harranguing them about this.

AFAIK, they had stock for telephone orders yesterday, but are now sold out.

But if Tesco won't honour online orders due to credit checks then why have them online to be able to order ? Just makes no sense.

Just tried to ring Tesco Direct on 0845 600 4411. Selected the option for iphone 4. Recorded message said phone contracts only available in store. Then the phone rang and nobody answered. No phones coming from Tesco Direct.

Precisely. It's a mistake on their part, and one they've failed to rectify in the last 36 hrs.

Tesco's whole handling of IPhone availability has been abject from the start.

It just all seems like a total mess and my hopes of purchasing an Iphone 4 from them on Friday is not looking high :(

When i use the track my order link in the email form Tesco it shows 2 items. 1 being a iphone 4 at £479 and the the other being the contract phone.

Every little helps.
