16gb/£20 a month. was just warehouse getting ready for dispatch

Edit: Rang them up, they said you shouldn't even be able to buy the contract phones online. So he issued me a refund which will take 3-5working days to come through. Cheeky sod's weren't that slow to take the money.

ugh did you need to ring them for them to refund or once the status change will the refund commence? i ordered 16gb/£20. when did order?

Yes you have to call up Tesco Direct on 0845 600 4411, don't press anything when it asks about the iPhone4. Wait for the next menu, option 2 i think for queries about orders placed. They will check your order number and say they will refund you.

I'm hoping mine comes through, I placed it at 3PM and surely mine would say there was a problem before yours if you placed it after me? Oh well, fingers crossed. Do you have to wait on the phone for ages?

Absolutely no idea what is going on with mine then. I bought the 32gb on the £35 a month tariff for a total cost of £334. It's come up as dispatched.

Prob an empty jiffy bag with a receipt for £334. Still expecting this to go really wrong.
 
And yet i still find myself questioning if it would just be better to buy a 32GB 3GS on friday.
 
Since I'm mortal and therefore don't have the inclination to wade through the last 300-400 pages of this bloated mess of a thread, can anyone please kindly summarise any latest important info on either new tarrifs, the long-awaited white iPhone, preordering etc.?

I'm assuming of course that the last 300-400 pages have been filled with "I got my tracking LOLZ", "where's the ***king TNT van?!" "mine says 'shipped but don't trust it". Please tell me I'm wrong.

nope you go through pretty much in a few seconds. the iPhone options theres a huge wait time. Guy just said alot of online orders were cancelled because you shouldn't even be able to order via the Tesco Direct website so who knows

Well, I just got the Order Cancelled status.

I called Tesco Direct. To say the lady I spoke to was rude and obnoxious is an understatement!

To cut it short, she said it was my fault for ordering online as I should have know that it's not possible to order a mobile phone online!

I pointed her in the direction of companies that do allow mobile phones online. She then just continued to maintain that it was not Tesco's fault and that if I was unhappy I should write and complain.

Ridiculous! :mad:

that's terrible, I had a nice guy that gave me the refund. Sounds like you got one of their crazy robots that escaped from the asylum. Did you get the refund? I'd call back if not, hopefully get someone nicer

Well, the thing is the iPhone 32GB part of it is showing as cancelled BUT the iPhone with 12 month contract part of it is showing as still waiting for dispatch ;) ;) ;)

I will however write and complain as I called earlier today and was told that the phone was still due today.

Also, on the internet it says that someone will call and inform me of the reason for cancellation. Well, no one called me and I've taken a day off work tomorrow to make sure someone was in when delivered :mad:

( At warehouse - dispatching soon ) more details

It's been cancelled for sure, the contract part is linked to the iPhone and won't be sent out if the iPhone has been cancelled. I know it's wishful thinking but it won't happen. I've had the refund email come through so now I have to wait for my money back :(

I'm sure there's some kind of law which states that if money is taken the seller has to sell the goods as described!

Also, I noticed that the refund was only given after I called Tesco Direct. Had I not called them I really could have kicked up a fuss tomorrow after 7PM - which is the latest they say they'll deliver.

Yeah I thought that too after I cancelled, oh well probably not worth the fuss anyways at the moment. It's alright mate :)

Well we went to the apple store and he was able to pick the last one in store.....Lucky....He wasn't on the priorty list which was kinda weird. BUt he was able to get hold of one. I asked them when they are getting another shipment because I also wanted another iphone 4 unlocked and they said that it could arrive anytime this week. So conclusion:
They might have got new stock or not. But the chances are high as my cousin was weirdly able to get one..........So just try your luck...

This is a rare case. First of all, I'm pretty sure they told me they only sell iPhone 4 to people in the priority list. So yea your cousin's case is a weird one.

I received an email from Apple this morning stating that "Your iPhone 4 is waiting at the Apple Store". I went directly to Apple Store after that and collected a black iPhone 4 16GB. =) Shame that they did not have any bumpers left.

My name has been in the priority list of Apple Store Eldon Square Newcastle since launch day. Hope this gives a rough estimation for people who are still waiting for their iPhone 4 in Newcastle. =)
 
I went into the Manchester Trafford Centre store today and was looking for bumpers (sold out). A gentlemen who was there to collect an iPhone for his wife was unable to collect unless he had some sort of ID. He pulled out his ID and it had the same surname and the Apple employee went and got him his iPhone.

Just something for you guys really, if it's a family member picking it up just make sure they have some sort of ID.

No idea what's going on with my order. It says dispatched - so can I assume a 32gb iPhone 4 is winging it's way to me? I'll wait till I actually get it in my hand.

Next week i will be in London for 3 days and i would know if is possible this days buy an iphone 4 directly in the apple stores. i have read lot of pages of this thread and i think i've understood the retail stock in this centers are broken...

do you think if I go to all the london apple stores could I buy my iphone4 with no reserve??
