Ordered online last night via Tesco Direct to pick up the phone on Thursday after 4pm. Got a call at 9am while I was still half asleep saying it's been cancelled due to an error.

Went back on the website and ordered it for delivery for tomorrow and heeev-ho the money got took out straight away (didn't get taken out for last nights order). Status is currently 'At warehouse - dispatching soon'

That's the same status as mine. Knew it was too good to be true.

Anyone else had a cancellation email/phone call after ordering off the website?

If they really aren't sending any online orders, that is an almost impressive amount of incompetence.

Mine had only got to Northampton today at 15:56 so it took over 24 hours to get from Arnham.

I don't expect it to be with me tomorrow though just seems very slow at getting things out with TNT. I hope Apple doesn't use next time when I come around to order with them.

Any news on your phone did you receive it?

Mine arrived yesterday afternoon. Very cool. I hope yours was on the TNT truck today.

Hmmmm...........I ordered at around 1.30pm and it is still in warehouse. I'm expecting a cancelled email anytime now.
 
I'm even more mystified why, more than a day after all of this has come to light, Tesco still haven't amended their website. I know from talking to their sales staff that they're inundated with aggrieved purchasers, like me, who thought they'd successfully ordered an IPhone online.

But if Tesco won't honour online orders due to credit checks then why have them online to be able to order ? Just makes no sense.

To give you some insight about how slick Tesco's operation is, I tried to register a pay monthly sim today. The sim pack told me to go online.

The link on the website told me to phone a freephone number. I wait half an hour (presumably because of desparate would-be iPhone buyers) before I was told to ring another non-free number. Another 20 minute wait and menu hell later I got my sim activated.

This procedure changed a while back and Tesco still has not updated either the website or the sim pack instructions.

For the record, Tesco is not expecting any more stock of iPhones this week, but was told it might be worth ringing on Friday to see if any more are coming into the Tescomobile phone shop to be sold. Tesco Direct won't be getting any for a while most likely as supplies are too low at present.
 
well i took a chance and ordered one for pick up at a store on friday. we shall see...

order moved to warehouse/dispatch though
 
Haven't been on here in a while. Er...my free bumper shipped today and should be delivered tomorrow. Yay? :rolleyes:

Phoned O2 this morning to check about upgrading, was told I could order an IP4 16GB now for delivery in 5 working days on an 18month/£50 pm contract. Checked order status at 2pm and was surprised to see it had already been dispatched and a tracking number was available. :)

Good luck to anyone else.

Ordered from them today at around 13:00, mine is at wharehouse.

I will check again.

Yep, same here :( Oh well, I think I'll leave it now and just wait until the Apple Stores contact me.
 
Just logged on my order status for my 32gb I ordered from Tesco yesterday. Coming up as dispatched, phew!

Still think there are more twists and turns with this yet. The phone is listed as dispatched but the contract package is coming up as still at warehouse. Strange but not complaining if my phone comes tomorrow.

Let us know if you receive it tomorrow ... would be good to know what to expect.

I got a feeling mines going to be canceled by tomorrow afternoon. Not too bothered if it is to be honest.

What phone and contract was it (16GB or 32GB?) and what was the message before? (order status)
