'Recovery action underway'? What the hell does that mean? Sounds like it went overboard in a storm and they're now fishing out of Hong Kong harbour.

I used my credit card. Phone has been dispatched so expecting delivery today. Still expecting it to be cancelled at the last minute although if it's been dispatched - surely it's in a van somewhere to me?

Yes I had awful problems with signal issue as have many others. You will only notice the problem in medium to low signal areas. I’ve taken my iPhone 4 back to Orange for a refund. Have to say Orange made it very difficult for me to return the phone. This is the 2nd time I have had problems with their customer service so have returned to o2.

Did not see any yellow dots.

I was just wondering inside of my house I most of the time just get 1 or 2 bars. BUt outside I most of the time get full bars and I really haven' really hold the antenna yet. I'll try that today......If I lose signal should I go to my local orange store and ask for a replacement?

Apple are making an announcement tomorrow about the signal issue, so might be worth waiting to see what they say first if you have similar problems with the signal and wifi.

Allright I'll wait. Hope Apple does something about it........
Did Steve Jobs didn't say the antenna system will improve the signal strenght of the device?

I ordered from Tesco direct via link on here with debit card for collection on thurs. After readin about it on here i popped into the store to check. They rang the main Tesco direct No and said yes it would be delivered tomorrow. Half hr later i checked the status of my order, said there was a problem. I rang up my local store and spoke to the same person. She rang main No again and came back to me sayin i shouldn't have been able to order online and that there was no stock in, then said i would be refunded. Checked my status again and it said cancelled and refunded

I'm really pissed off with TNT

I got the same notification as yours:

I checked flight stats from HK International Airport and it clearly stated that TNT Freighter (3V 048) to Liege,NL has departed on the 14th n 15th on time and there intact no delay at all affecting their aircraft

With a case I have no antenna issues but more importantly for me I get better reception than my 3GS and do not drop calls in places I consistently dropped calls with the 3GS.

I feel bad for the people who want to use it san case but if they could get past that it's a great phone.

Haha! Now that would be bad luck! Apparently the plane got diverted because of a storm... But as someone said in a previous post, it looks lie the plane landed normally, strange.

I'm still looking for a suitable case for the phone. No store has any bumpers and apple has cancelled my order for some reason...
So yer if a case help I will try it out.

Nope. You can use either, although you should use a credit card for the purchase of the phone and set up a direct debit for the contract, as you have no control over recurring contracts set up over credit cards (remember the Setanta debacle).

Both 16GB and 3GB iPhones went on sale today on the phone line and ran out around lunchtime. Best to try every day from 8am if you have not got one yet. Some people only had to wait 5 minutes, I hung on for nearly 40, but finally got one. I had two phones on the go to make sure - one was cut off after 15 minutes of that dreadful muzak. It really is pot luck.

The website is supposedly being overhauled today to give a better idea of current stocks but you are probably better off ringing in anyway, as long as you are prepared to hold.

Try CPW. They have some soft and hard cases for the iPhone 4, although it's anyones guess whether these might obscure the camera flash on the back.
 
I just cancelled my order with Tesco, can't be waiting in all day for some thing that may or may not arrive and will wait to see what the news conference is all about.

Tesco Direct cancelled the hand set but said that I had to call Tesco Mobile to cancel the contract, who had no record of me at all. All very odd.

Same here. Shipment delayed. I'm wondering why that is. I just did a quick check and the weather in HK seems ok - not really bad at all.

I think that this is very unlikely but could it be that Apple has stopped TNT and is planning to replace the iPhones with newer, fixed ones?
 
E-mail from Tesco

Did anyone else just get an e-mail from Tesco about iPhone 4 stock?

Just got one before, going to try a London store tonight to see if they have them in.

Thanks to the other postings earlier, I did not try ordering from Tesco Direct.

The e-mail says to go in-store.... Will see how that goes...
